Chapter 263.2. Hamburg Steak With Sunny-Side-Up Eggs

-Miu’s Mom POV-

“It’s delicious, so who cares!”

I mischievously interrupted Miu as she started eating vigorously.

“So, what’s your review?”

“The supreme hamburger is incredibly tasty!”

“You’re tired of explanations, Mii-chan?”

“The hamburger will get cold!”

I chuckled at Miu, who began to eat the hamburger while avoiding the question by lowering her face. As for Sora and Mai, they seemed uninterested in the conversation and were eating the hamburger from regular plates.

“All three of them are quite independent.”

“Well, as long as they grow up healthy.”

“In this environment?”

“Well, yes, you have a point. Mii-chan might need to be a bit quieter, and we should let Sora and Mai play more.”

Recognizing the need for more than just energy in their upbringing, my husband corrected himself with a wry smile, and we shared a knowing look and laughed.

“I’m always quiet! Even on my report card, it says, ‘Miu is quiet, but she needs to be more active.’, written by the teacher!”

“Yeah, and bribing teachers is prohibited, okay?”

“I think the concept of ‘sontaku’ in Japanese is amazing!”

My husband pressed his hand to his forehead, looking troubled, but I couldn’t help but burst into laughter at their exchange.

As the happy family mealtime ended and Miu, Sora, and Mai returned to their room for somersault practice, it was just my husband and me.

My husband, in a slightly tipsy state, poured beer into a glass.

“Shall I have one too?”

“Oh, that’s unusual. Sure, should I pour a glass for you?”

My husband rang a magic bell he had recently acquired. The maid arrived promptly.

“Another glass and another bottle of beer, please.”

“Of course.”

I gazed at my husband, who issued orders so naturally. My husband noticed my gaze and tilted his head, looking puzzled.

“What’s wrong?”

“Well, I thought you were used to giving orders. I’m still not quite used to it. I would probably have gone to get the glass myself.”

My husband gives orders even for minor things, to the butlers, maids, and servants. It’s not necessarily wrong since he pays their salaries, but it’s a rather noble attitude.

“Oh… I did get used to it, or rather, I remembered… Until just recently, I was a commoner. I understand how you feel.”

“Ugh… I can’t help but feel that the environment changed drastically to fit your words. I wonder if the kids will grow up accustomed to giving orders to others.”

I sighed while resting my cheek on my hand. I couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy as I imagined our children naturally giving orders.

“Yeah, I think they will. It’s necessary, after all. Mii-chan is a Marchioness, and Sora and Mai will hold noble titles.”

When the maid returned with a bottle of beer and a glass, my husband poured beer into my glass.

“Do you dislike it?”

“It’s not that I dislike it, but I can’t help feeling a bit uneasy. I grew up in an ordinary family.”

I was used to living with just our family. But now, while I can make homemade hamburgers, the cleanup is taken care of by the waiting cooks.

It’s undoubtedly more convenient, but… did I also want to do the cleanup? Is that too much to ask?

“You’ll have to get used to it. Are you tired? Should I give you a shoulder massage?”

“Aren’t you tired too?”

“Mii-chan always uses the [Regeneration] recovery magic on me… I don’t experience physical fatigue at all.”

I stared back at my husband, who laughed heartily.

“No, you can’t, dear. Mii-chan shouldn’t use recovery magic so casually. If you don’t get tired, you can work endlessly, right?”

Not experiencing fatigue means you don’t know your limits, which I find quite dangerous.

“When I look tired, Mii-chan uses magic on me before I can stop her… She gets flustered if papa is tired.”

“Mii-chan is kind… That’s why you should remind her later, even if it’s a bit later, okay?”

“I’ll make sure to do that. So, why are you tired?”

With a kind look, my husband asked as I sipped my beer.

“I’ve been receiving a lot of party invitations lately. It’s like I could have a bonfire and roast sweet potatoes with all the invitations. They say, ‘Please come with Mii-chan.’.”

“Ah… Mii-chan is very popular now. So, are you tired from socializing? If so, you don’t have to attend. The Takano family has that much influence now.”

“But recently, I’ve been using your connections to come. Some of them are your business partners, so I can’t be dismissive.”

My father has a small trading company, and some invitations came through those business connections. While it was true even before, lately, he’s been inundated with invitations from numerous people. Among them are important business partners for my father’s company.

“My father says not to worry about it… But it’s not that simple. So, I’m thinking of attending with Mii-chan on our next day off.”

“With Mii-chan…”

“Yes, with Mii-chan.”

“I think I understand one of the reasons you’re tired now…”

My husband gave in, looking defeated.

.

That’s right, I’ve realized recently that my daughter has never been quiet at such parties. She’s a good and obedient child. But sometimes she overdoes it a bit.

We exchanged glances and chuckled together.
