Chapter 1098: Due Upgrades (1)

After arriving at the private workshop Julian allocated to him within the guild, Valyr swiftly got to work as he brought out the Hammer of Beginnings from his spatial bracelet.

Activating [Ephemeral Limbs of the First Blacksmith] after that, he then used those arms to grab all of the spare forging hammers on the tool rack near him before going ahead and manifesting a few more pairs of arms using Mystic Energy.

Though, before he could even reach the limit of what his Mystic Energy could handle, the young man immediately changed his mind as he conjured the arms using Mystic Energy once

more.

Whoosh!

However, unlike before, he utilized the braid involving mana, allowing his mind to be more at ease when it came to how long those arms would last.

With him done with everything he needed to do beforehand, Valyr went ahead and proceeded to go through the 150 weapon quota he'd given himself, deciding to bet on himself on how much time he'd take to forge all 150.

'Considering that it took me under six days to forge 100 weapons in a row, adding on the fact that I now have five additional pairs of arms to work with... a week, perhaps?'

With the thought in mind, the young man slowly but surely got into a rhythm that allowed him to make full use of all the arms he'd conjured, causing him to ignore the passage of time the more he forged.

By the time he was done, he let out a wide sigh of relief as he dispelled all of the translucent arms he'd been controlling all this time, causing all of the extra forging hammers around him to drop to the ground.

Feeling the strain on his mind immediately disappear the moment a cacophony of clangs echoed throughout the workshop, Valyr looked at the pile of weapons he'd made with satisfaction before giving himself some time to rest.

Consuming a couple of potions from his spatial bracelet to hasten his return to peak condition, the young man then went ahead and brought up his status screen as a question came to mind.

'So, how much time exactly did I take to forge 150 weapons in a row?' Watching the screen in front of him, Valyr thought back to how he tackled the forging quota at first, immediately feeling a massive strain on his mind the moment he tried controlling 11 pairs of arms at once. Because of that, he lost a great amount of time forging weapons at first, with the resulting output even being somewhat subpar compared to the usual pieces of equipment he forged.

However, with him having ascended to a Rank 4 class, as well as having changed to a race that allowed him to control his energy better, it did not take a lot for the young man to eventually find the groove necessary to control every pair of arms he conjured, allowing him to make full use of the extra arms he'd been given.

'With how fast the weapons were coming out by the time I was close to finishing the quota, I suppose I took a week to forge 150 weapons?' asked Valyr to himself, shifting his gaze towards the timer as he began to calculate the time he spent.

'Then again, it wouldn't be surprising if I took less than that.'

Closing his eyes for a bit as the gears in his mind whirred in response to his thoughts, Valyr eventually obtained the answer he was looking for.

However, the answer he got was not what he was expecting.

'Four days...?' Staring out at a far away point for a bit, Valyr blinked a couple times before deciding to do the calculations again, only to arrive at the same answer once more.

'I really took a bit over four days to forge 150 weapons?'Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Seeing as the answer was the same no matter how many he calculated it over and over again, Valyr was eventually forced to accept the fact that his forging speed had undergone a far greater improvement than he thought it did.

Though he was certain that a considerable portion of the improvement was due to both his class ascension and his new species, most of it was undoubtedly due to the fact that he now had double the number of arm pairs than he had before.

Seeing as it was impractical to use so many pairs of arms on one weapon, Valyr eventually prompted a few of the arm pairs to forge another weapon at the same time, only to then split off a few more arm pairs to forge another weapon after that.

"In the end, each weapon had the attention of four pairs of arms, allowing me to forge three weapons at the same time," muttered Valyr to himself, only to bitterly smile soon after.

"No wonder why this forging session felt more draining to the mind than ever before."

Closing his status screen after that, Valyr then took a bit more time to give both his body and mind some rest, only to then realize that he was roughly forging two weapons every hour with the rate he was going at.

'And it'll only get better now that I've gotten knack of handling so many arm pairs at once,' thought Valyr to himself, briefly shuddering as he wonder how much time it would take him to do a similar quota in the future.

Wanting to push his thoughts away from taking on another forging quota for the meantime, Valyr took a bit more time to compose himself before bringing out his set of True Wyvern Armor from his spatial bracelet.

Then, giving Julian a heads-up that his forging quota was completed, he then went ahead and placed one of the pieces on the anvil before proceeding to upgrade it to match his level.

After that, all of the pieces of armor were done, he then moved onto his spear and his two firearms, upgrading their levels to match his own.

"Now that I think about it, I should really get some Refinement Jewels," said Valyr to himself as he put in the final touches on his own arquebus.

Coincidentally, it was also at that moment that Julian finally entered the young man's workshop.
