MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 188 Peter Heisen

With his swift mind, Lei Zhen quickly calculated the appropriate amount to split the $5000 among three people.

First off, Tie Longkun would receive $1400 for his hard work and dedication.

As for Griselda, she would receive $1800 because of her celebrity status and it was thanks to her popularity that attracted a lot of subscribers and viewers.

At the same time, the video was edited flawlessly thanks to her money and connection. Therefore, it was only right that she received that much money.

And of course, Lei Zhen would give himself $1800 as well. He had his sister's hospital bill to take care of and was the guild leader of Zero Fear. It would only be right that he should have this much amount.

Poor little Tie Longkun could only accept his fate with $1400, and with his naivety, Lei Zhen could easily convince him that he got the most shares.

'Hehe, I'm not evil, but I am reasonable.' He complimented himself, feeling joyful at his bank account rising.

Money might not be the most important thing as most poor humans proclaimed, but without money, you really are nobody in this world.

And Lei Zhen was damn sure about caring for money after losing them all at once.

Despite earning quite a fortune, Lei Zhen made sure to quickly pay the landlord through his phone since the rent was about to be due soon.

When the payment got through, Lei Zhen breathed a sigh of relief as he escaped being burdened by the due payments.

"Time to head back and see if those four people have woken up." He muttered and hopped back into the MagnoPod.

After the usually blurred vision, Lei Zhen returned to his game character and walked out of the personal room.

To his surprise, Candice was simply waiting at the door outside without making a single sound.

"What are you doing here, Candice?" Lei Zhen asked in a calm tone, though inwardly, he nearly caught a fright.

For some reason, all the NPC in the game loved to make soundless movements and casually wait for you outside the door, almost as if it was a horror jumpscare game.

"I was waiting here to inform you that the chef had finished making the chicken soup," Candice responded, tilting her head slightly.

"I see… but you could have just left a note on the door next time. Like what if I didn't come out of the room for the whole day?"

"I'm your slave now, so it is rude to do such an act."

"Again, it was not my intention to purchase you nor do I have the wish to treat you like a slave. I find it quite distasteful for this world to still have slavery." Lei Zhen faked a cough and said.

Slavery had long been abolished and seeing it occur here in the game astonished him.

The setting seemed to be ancient western style so he could understand slavery existed back then. Yet understanding and accepting it were two different stories.

Meanwhile, Candice simply touched the slave collar on her neck and glanced at Lei Zhen. No words were needed for her to be said for Lei Zhen to comprehend the meaning.

The slave collar prevented her from acting disrespectfully to Lei Zhen and would tighten itself if she even had the thought of doing so.

Lei Zhen nodded his head. As much as he wanted to unlock the slave collar for her, he didn't want to do it even if he knew the method.

After all, he had not given his trust completely to Candice and there was still a bit of doubt in his mind. It wasn't that he was suspicious of Candice, but he practically knew nothing about her background and personality.

Trust isn't something you place upon someone from the get-go, but something that the other party slowly gained from your time interacting.

Henceforth, Candice was still in his grace period and was under inspection.

"Alright then, let's drink some of the chicken soup first before going to the infirmary room to check on the four people." Lei Zhen calmly said.

Magnolia had a satiety bar for players to fill up, so even if he had eaten in the real world, he would still need to consume some food in Magnolia.

It might seem like a hassle at first glance, but no one actually complained about it because the food is delicious here.

Not to mention, some even feel gratified eating delicious food constantly in the game after a long hard-fought battle.

Sometime later, they arrived at the dining area, and it was an empty space.

"Seems like the others have already finished their meal." Lei Zhen said.

"Next time, you should just eat and not wait for me. If you somehow starved and fainted from exhaustion, then that would be a pain for me." He added.

"Is that a command?" Candice asked.

"Yes, that's a command."

Candice nodded her head and proceeded to grab the two portions that the chef had warmed up near the kitchen area.

Afterward, the two of them prepared to drink a warm and cozy chicken soup before making their way to the infirmary room.

As they headed toward there, Howard's figure could be seen from afar.

"Chancellor, we have identified the old man's identity," Howard walked forward and informed Lei Zhen.

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom "The old man's identity? Is it someone important?" Lei Zhen enquired.

"The old man's name is Peter Heisen. As for his occupation and other classes, Peter had remained silent until he met the one in charge."

Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow.

To meet the one in charge would naturally mean him, but why would he request such a thing considering they were rescued by them?

"It seems like this isn't a normal shipwreck if the other party is such a wary being. With only his name revealed and nothing else, I fear that we might have gotten ourselves in some scheme." Lei Zhen said, entering the infirmary to meet with the old man.
