Chapter 249 Sanguinis Clan Conflict Aftermath
Chapter 249 Sanguinis Clan Conflict Aftermath
"Lord Progenitor… We apologize for our ignorance. We didn't know that you had been resurrected," the Sanguinis Patriarch spoke in awe and fear, displaying his obedience.
Facing the first and most powerful vampire in history, his own blood screamed at him to submit to the man in front. Knowing Vlad's true identity left no room for defiance.
"Tch… spoil sport…" Vlad clicked his tongue, disappointed that he couldn't fully unleash his power. He had hoped to test his newfound strength.
Since Daniel resurrected him, Vlad's power had undergone a drastic change, becoming stronger and more abundant.
He recalled his existence during the Middle Ages when, after consuming all the Ottoman soldiers, his soul could only partition and accommodate 1,000 souls. The rest were wasted, unable to be retained within his body.
Back then, he possessed about 1,000 lives. During the war with the Vatican, he was killed by the Jesus nail, which pierced his heart and obliterated all his lives in one stroke. His soul was consigned to the eternal darkness of oblivion, denied access to both heaven and hell, condemned to wander in the void.
He had sensed the potent power of the Jesus nail, capable of burning through his lives up to about 10,000 souls. However, upon his resurrection, an incomprehensible and vast power entered his wandering soul, pulling him back from the abyss of eternal darkness and enhancing his abilities to a frightening extent.
He could now integrate millions of Ottoman soldiers' blood into him effortlessly. It seemed as though even if he consumed a country's worth of people, he could still assimilate all that blood, partitioning his soul without any issues.
It was as if his power during the Middle Ages had transformed from a lake into an ocean, vast and profound.
Vlad swiftly transformed back into his normal form—an elegant nobleman in a red suit. Despite sharing the same face and features, in this guise, he concealed his power deep within his soul, preventing anyone from detecting him. His true form tended to attract attention, especially from those with malicious intent. For most of his dealings, he preferred using this more inconspicuous appearance.
At that moment, Maria walked along the partially destroyed walkway in the clan grounds, accompanied by Ulrich and an old man with a white beard and stubble. This elderly figure exuded the aura of a seasoned veteran, dressed in a black suit reminiscent of the gangsters from the 1920s.
This old man was none other than Radu, Vlad's most loyal knight during his reign in Wallachia.
"My lord!" The old man shouted at Vlad, joy evident in his expression as he rushed toward him with a smile. He never anticipated being able to see his lord again after so long.
"How do you do, Radu? Now, you seem to be older than me in appearance. Time has not been kind to you," Vlad said with a smile, patting Radu's shoulder who assuming the appearance of the old man.
"My lord, you jest. I prefer this appearance because I need it to instill respect from the younger vampires. If I were to use my old appearance…" Radu explained, transforming into his younger version from his days as a knight in Wallachia. In this form, he appeared as a handsome young man, akin to a member of a contemporary boy band, and continued.
"Those punks wouldn't take me seriously; they would think that I'm some kind of gigolo or boytoy instead," Radu said through gritted teeth. After accumulating enough power to regain his lost youth, this appearance made his life worse since many people didn't take him seriously.
Vlad acknowledged that this appearance would be more useful if he were to send Radu to work in a host club in the Tessia Kingdom. Radu could undoubtedly amass a fortune from wealthy women.
Even among the Sanguinis clansmen, some individuals with questionable preferences blushed, prompting those around them to maintain a safe distance.
"Okay, I get it. Just return to your old man look. Now I understand why you always kept your beard and stubble back then," Vlad quickly agreed, allowing Radu to revert to his old man form. As he did, Vlad couldn't help but reminisce about Radu's appearance when he was still human, with his bushy beard and long hair that resembled more of a Viking than a European knight.
After Radu returned to his original appearance, he knelt before Vlad and declared, "My lord, our Sanguinis clan welcomes you! Consider this clan as your own. We will dedicate ourselves to serving you. Please lead us, my lord!" The Sanguinis clansmen echoed his declaration in unison, shouting, "Please lead us, my lord!" following the example set by their ancestor.
Vlad shook his head and replied, "I'm sorry, Radu, I can't lead you. I am now working for my master and require the assistance of your clan. In return, I am allowed to negotiate with you and can permit you to gain some benefits for my master."
"Your master?" Radu repeated, contemplating for a moment before an idea struck him. "Is your master the one who resurrected you and granted those overwhelming powers to you?" Radu inquired.
Vlad silently nodded in confirmation.
As one of Vlad's confidants from the Middle Ages, Radu knew the limits of his lord's power. He was certain that Vlad's power was not as abundant as it is now. He witnessed Vlad's body being burnt to cinders by holy fire with his own eyes. No vampire or dark creature could return from that!
If what Vlad said was true, then his lord's master was an entity even more powerful than Vlad himself. A being beyond understanding and shrouded in mystery.
"We have plenty of time. Can you tell me about it, my lord? I'll have someone prepare tea and dessert for your enjoyment while we're discussing," Radu suggested.
"That's exactly what I wanted," Vlad replied with a smile, pulling Radu up from his kneeling posture.
—
Afterward, Vlad shared with Radu and some of the higher-ups in the Sanguinis clan about his master, Daniel. He provided a rough outline of Daniel's power and many of Daniel's miraculous artifacts. This information filled the vampires in the Sanguinis clan with excitement at the opportunity presented before them.
The concept of an entity capable of resurrecting the dead Vampire Progenitor, whose soul was denied from both heaven and hell, intrigued them. Daniel must possess unimaginable power beyond the realm of normal mages. Even legendary archmages like Merlin might not be able to achieve such feats.
At this point, it could be said that Vlad and Maria had successfully secured their foothold in Europe. The next task for them was to contact their master and request the construction of a teleportation portal within the Sanguinis clan's grounds.
— Heidelberg - Police Station —
Within one of the Heidelberg police station's jail cells, a muscular man in a biker outfit occupied a toilet.
Urrrrgggghhhhhh.
The man vomited black substance into the toilet, unconcerned about the pitying gazes of the police officers and other criminals. Pity extended even toward those who had been beaten up and were crying in agony within the jail cell, attempting to assert dominance when the man in the biker outfit arrived.
"Hans, what kind of crime did that idiot foreigner commit?" one of the police officers asked his friend, pointing at the man.
"That idiot in the biker gang outfit? Oh, public intoxication… we caught him vomiting out his food in Heidelberg ruins. So we brought him here, never thought that he would vomit all the way from the ruins to here!" Hans frustratingly explained.
"What the hell did he eat!?"
"I don't know… maybe black pudding!?" Hans answered unsure of what it actually was.
Urrrrrrgggghhhhh!
The man was none other than James, left behind by Vlad and Maria as he couldn't continue following them to the Sanguinis clan grounds due to his stomach being full of black pudding.
After getting caught by Vlad for trolling him on the internet, James was reminded of Vlad's merciless nature. Vlad force-fed him over a ton of black pudding, even though he was a werewolf and could eat much more than a normal human, a ton of black pudding was too much for him.
"Fu... Urrrrrgggggghhhh!!" James uttered in frustration, but before he could curse, he vomited out the black pudding once again.
— Meanwhile - Sector Alpha City - Atlanteus Base —
Within the VIP guest house that Daniel had prepared for honored guests who might come to visit him at the base, he now uses it as his temporary home since his previous residence in the base was destroyed by the giant bonsai.
At the magic workbench, Envy is crafting an artifact designed to detect a specific magic origin element. She wants to check Sylvana's Origin Element before proceeding further.
"Ah! Done! This is it! Sylvy, try to place your palm here, sweetie." Envy shouts, then places a contraption that looks like an Ouija board with an orb in the middle.
"What kind of garbage artifact is this? It looks like an Ouija board." Daniel doesn't give Envy face; he completely criticizes Envy's lousy artifact-making skills with his words.
