Chapter 662 - 662 Did You Train Them?
662 Did You Train Them?
On Monday, Bai Xi Xi headed to school and found that her tablemate has already arrived. She swept her gaze around the classroom and finally noticed that something was a little different.
It seemed that the number of girls who usually surrounded Fu Chen’s table had decreased. The number of girls who hang outside their class to peek at Fu Chen had also lessened.
Somehow, Bai Xi Xi did not doubt that this happened because of the basketball match between Jian Chi and Fu Chen last week.
Her gaze subconsciously shifted to where Fu Chen was seated.
Seeing the boy laughing happily with his group of friends suddenly annoyed her.
This person was too petty and could not accept that someone is better than him.
After observing the situation for a while, Bai Xi Xi retracted her gaze again. She walked over to her seat and took a seat. Seeing her coming, Fu Chen turned to the girls and told them that he needed to study a little bit before the class began.
Although the girls were reluctant, they had no other choice but to leave Fu Chen. Because he was a newly transferred student, the teachers had assigned him to do a little more exercise to look at his understanding of each subject.
However, the girls could not help but cast a few glances at Bai Xi Xi.
.....
They understood that Fu Chen was seated beside Bai Xi Xi because of their height. But this did not mean that they were not jealous. Fu Chen was quite good-looking and there were a lot of girls who were eyeing him.
Although their competitors had lessened after the basketball match against Jian Chi, they were still worried. But, Bai Xi Xi sat with Fu Chen in the class. Her chance of getting together with him was quite large.
Bai Xi Xi naturally noticed the way the girls were staring at her. However, she could only pretend as if she did not understand anything and continued to read her books.
Noticing that his tablemate was ignoring him, Fu Chen swept his gaze around the classroom and noticed that the girls who were chatting with him earlier were staring at him.
Fu Chen flashed them a smile before he lowered his gaze and focused on the papers on the table.
A few minutes passed and the two continued to keep their silence. When he could no longer bear the silence, Fu Chen turned around and looked at Bai Xi Xi.
His lips parted, but the words he wanted to say did not come out. He glanced at the book that she was reading and cleared his throat.
Fu Chen flashed a smile when Bai Xi Xi finally turned to look at him. “Class Monitor, last time, you mentioned lending me your notes. I wonder if it is still possible for me to borrow them?”
Bai Xi Xi stared at the boy for a brief second.
She did not think that he was going to ask her about borrowing her notes. But since she had mentioned lending him those notes, she would let him borrow them.
Bai Xi Xi lowered her gaze and spoke, “Sure.” She rummaged through her bag, pulled out a few notes, and put them on his table.
“Thank you.” The smile on Fu Chen’s face widened.
“Take your time to look at them. But don’t forget to return the notes to me when you’re done,” Bai Xi Xi reminded him.
“Sure.” Fu Chen browsed through the notes and was surprised at how neat her notes were. Her handwriting was clean and pretty. It was really different than his scribbled handwriting.
After admiring Bai Xi Xi’s handwriting for a while, Fu Chen finally remembered what he wanted to say to his tablemate. He turned to look at her again and spoke, “Class Monitor, are your nephews and nieces all good at basketball?”
Fu Chen recalled the way Bai Xiang and Zhang An Qi dribbled their balls. Then, at how Zhang Qi Lin and Zhang Xiao Chen had worked hard to attack them. They were all kids, but their skills were very good. He was still in awe at how good they were. Fu Chen did not doubt that the group of kids could play as professionals if they kept on going.
A faint smile curled on Bai Xi Xi’s lips as she recalled the group of adorable kids. “Mm...”
“Did you train them?”
“It’s not me.” Bai Xi Xi chuckled. “It was their parents and their grandparents who trained them.”
There was a large basketball court at the kids’ grandparents’ residence. Each time they came to visit, their grandpa would drag them to the basketball court and train them.
Their training had started early. The moment the kids were able to walk steadily, their grandpa let them play with the basketball.
Moreover, the kids had watched their parents practice basketball countless times. After watching them a few times, the kids began to develop an interest in the sport.
It was just like her when she was a little kid. She saw how cool her sister-in-law was on the court and decided to learn to play the sport as well.
Fu Chen looked at her in surprise.
From Bai Xi Xi’s words, Fu Chen concluded that she should come from a long line of basketball players. He recalled Bai Xi Xi’s skills again and felt as if he understood the reason Bai Xi Xi was very good at the sport.
He really wanted to learn a few skills from her.
A brief match with her and the kids was not enough for him to learn her skills.
However, Fu Chen suddenly thought of his match with Jian Chi last week.
Bai Xi Xi was also present during the match.
His tablemate was tall compared to other girls. Therefore, even though Bai Xi Xi was seated far away, he could still able to detect her.
But when he recalled how he had played very poorly during his match with Jian Chi, Fu Chen began to hesitate.
After watching him play in that match, Fu Chen doubt that Bai Xi Xi was willing to accompany him to play or teach him.
Their homeroom teacher entered the class at this time.
Fu Chen decided to forget about the matters he wanted to say to Bai Xi Xi.
