Chapter 657 - 657 Your Sibling?
657 Your Sibling?
After giving the children a few reminders to listen to their aunt, Zhang Li Xue finally let them leave. The group of children, her sons, Bai Xiang and Zhang Qi Lin, He Miao, Zhang An Qi, and her little brother, Zhang Xiao Chen, walked together with Bai Xi Xi accompanying them.
After eating some ice cream, the kids were planning to play in the playground nearby their house.
This was not the first time that Bai Xi Xi had taken the kids to the playground. Naturally, Zhang Li Xue and Bai Qi were not worried.
Zhang Li Xue stood at the door and waved her hand at the children. Just then, Bai Qi appeared by her side after sending their daughter to sleep in her room.
“Hubby, look at your eldest son.” Zhang Li Xue pointed at Bai Xiang who was seen holding hands with He Miao. “He’s still young but he’s already good at picking up girls. Just now, he told me that he wanted to buy Miao Miao ice creams.”
Bai Qi looked at his wife and saw the teasing smile on her face.
“Hubby, I think your son is just like you.”
“What do you mean?”
“The two of you know how to pick up girls from an early age.”
.....
Bai Qi looked at his wife in disbelief.
Zhang Li Xue heaved a long sigh and spoke, “When I was younger, a little boy pulled at my hair to get my attention.” Zhang Li Xue laughed when she noticed the embarrassed look on Bai QI’s face.
“Alright, stop mentioning this incident.” Bai Qi would get embarrassed each time he was reminded of how he had tried to get his wife’s attention by tugging at her hair. Back then, he was quite naughty.
Bai Qi stretched his hand and played with a few strands of his wife’s hair. He really liked the way her hair felt in his hand. They were really soft. “You have pretty hair. How can I not be tempted to touch it?”
...
Meanwhile, Bai Xi Xi took the children to the ice cream parlor and bought each one of them an ice cream. Initially, Bai Xiang was planning to buy He Miao an ice cream using the pocket money he had saved for a long time. However, since his favorite aunt was around, Bai Xiang managed to persuade his aunt to buy ice cream for everyone.
Bai Xi Xi watched as each kid was holding an ice cream in their hands while they sat together around the table. She got herself a cream cheese gelato before sitting with the kids.
Once everyone had finished their ice cream, Bai Xiang, the oldest of the kids quickly pulled everyone to play in the playground. Bai Xi Xi followed them closely and watched them as they played.
As this was not her first time coming to the playground, Bai Xi Xi had become familiar with a few aunties who would bring their children to play.
She chatted with them for a while before looking at the kids again.
A group of younger kids appeared to join in the fun in the playground. Bai Xi Xi looked at them and thought that she had never seen them before.
While she was watching the kids, Bai Xi Xi heard a familiar voice behind her.
“Class Monitor?”
Turning around, Bai Xi Xi found her tablemate, Fu Chen, standing behind her with a basketball in his hand. Fu Chen seemed surprised to see her. But once he recovered, the young boy flashed her a smile.
“I did not expect to see you here,” Fu Chen spoke.
Bai Xi Xi pursed her lips. Then, she recalled that Fu Chen too live in the same neighborhood.
“Uh-huh.” Bai Xi Xi nodded. “I did not expect to see you here too.”
“Class Monitor, what are you doing here?” Fu Chen asked. He was curious to see Bai Xi Xi standing alone in the middle of the playground.
Before Bai Xi Xi could answer his question, Fu Chen’s attention was diverted when a young boy had almost fall while running around the playground.
Fu Chen jogged over with his long legs and pulled at the boy’s collar before the boy would fall. Then, he looked at the young boy with his brow furrowed. “Xiao Li, what did I tell you about running around?”
The little boy had a sheepish smile on his face. “Elder brother, I forgot.”
Fu Chen sighed. “Just be more careful.” Seeing that the boy had walked properly, Fu Chen turned around to find Bai Xi Xi again. His lips stretched into a smile when he saw that the girl was still around. Fu Chen had thought that Bai Xi XI would leave once she get her chance.
Although they were tablemates, Fu Chen always noticed that his class monitor would avoid talking to him most of the time.
“Your sibling?” Bai Xi Xi glanced at the boy who Fu Chen had helped earlier and realized that he was among the new faces she had seen just now.
“Un.” Fu Chen scratched the tip of his nose. “My younger brother.” He thought of the age differences between him and his younger brother and felt a little awkward.
In the past, people would always have something to comment on when they heard about his sibling, especially when they heard that he was twelve years apart from his youngest brother.
Seeing that Bai Xi Xi did not comment on this made him feel a lot at ease as he did not know how he should explain his family.
Of course, Fu Chen was unaware that Bai Xi Xi did not care about this matter. After all, her age difference from her brother was larger.
Just then, Fu Chen noticed a young boy standing beside Bai Xi Xi and looked at him with his curious eyes. From the look at it, this young boy should be in his kindergarten.
A look of surprise appeared on his face as Fu Chen began to wonder if Bai Xi XI’s situation was almost the same as his.
“Your younger brother?” Fu Chen pointed at the little boy.
Bai Xi Xi lowered her gaze and saw that Zhang Qi Lin was standing beside her. “No. He’s my nephew.”
