“Chief, let me consider it and inform you after making a decision. Is that acceptable?”

“Alright, take your time to consider,” Tang Xinyi said. “I’ll be observing when your recruit company undergoes assessment at the brigade headquarters, hoping for your response before it concludes.”
Despite Chen Ming’s refusal, Tang Xinyi remained determined. If he didn’t respond after the assessment, she planned to approach the brigade commander, confident in her rank as a major.
With a final smile, Tang Xinyi left, leaving Chen Ming contemplating the unexpected proposal.
Chen Ming chuckled, realizing that being a major attracted attention and competition, wondering if more would come. Although the recruiting company was concluding, Chen Ming knew the struggle among company commanders was beginning.
Deciding to face the challenges, Chen Ming thought, “Let the competition begin. After all, the final decision is mine!”
With these thoughts, Chen Ming returned to the computer room, where the ongoing intense battle between the two teams continued. Seeing Chen Ming’s return, the group paused their activities. Curious, He Dong asked about the female officer.
“She’s Tang Xinyi, the head of the information department,” Chen Ming revealed. “She just wants me to join her department.”
Amid the three-month training ordeal, entering the information department sparked envy among his peers.
Fatty He Dong jokingly suggested, “If I were you, I’d go for it. The information department is not only relaxed but also has beautiful women. With your looks, you might even find a home there.”
Chen Ming’s handsome appearance in the army made him stand out, but he knew it wasn’t appreciated in the rough environment of the military camp.
Chen Ming rolled his eyes at him, “I refuse.”
Everyone was startled when they heard this.
“Damn it, you refused?”
“That’s the information department. You don’t need to train every day, and you can still see beautiful women. You refused?!”
Chen Ming nodded, “It feels a bit unsuitable for me.”
While the information department is good, compared with other companies in the barracks, it still feels inferior.
“Alright, it’s getting late. Let’s go back. Otherwise, we’ll be late, and the squad leader will talk again.”
Chen Ming checked the time. It was almost seven o’clock for breakfast.
On the way back, Yu Jun asked curiously, “Why did the information department take a fancy to you?”
Chen Ming explained, “I self-taught some hacking programming in an Internet cafe before. The last time I came to play games, I used hacking methods to attack the army’s system. They discovered I was good at technology, so they came up to win me over.”
Everyone was shocked, and Fatty He Dong even fantasized, “Is it possible that if you play the game well, you will have the opportunity to enter the information department?”
Chen Ming looked at them and continued, “I haven’t decided where to go yet. Let’s wait until the assessment is over. I believe more choices will emerge.”
