Chapter 303 - 302: Catching the Mole_1

Chapter 303: Chapter 302: Catching the Mole_1

Julius Reed had just settled back into the car when his phone received a call from Ovidiu Cook.

Only a mere ten-plus minutes had passed since the last time he received a call from Ovidiu Cook.

Clearly, in these ten-plus minutes, Ovidiu Cook, under immense pressure, had reviewed the situation from beginning to end.

With such a vast Titan Group and over a thousand employees, it was indeed difficult to ascertain the truth.

Even if the scope was narrowed down, who could be sure that this was definitely an inside job?

“Mr. Reed, after receiving the message, Bane Cook immediately took our core staff members into custody. After a ten-minute interrogation, it turned out to be my security chief, Winston Pendleton.”

While saying these words, Ovidiu Cook’s voice was clearly trembling. The occurrence of such an incident amongst his own staff was something he couldn’t shirk responsibility for.

And the issue arose in the security department, which made him feel like there was a knife pressed against his back, filling him with a sense of cold dread.

“Tell Bane Cook to bring him to me, I want to question him personally,” Julius Reed said coldly, and did not forget to add a warning, “I want him alive, if he dies, I’ll have your head!”

From Joel Martin’s testimony, Julius Reed felt that this mastermind was no simple adversary.

Having someone infiltrate Titan Group under Bane Cook’s watch, and someone as important as the security chief, fully demonstrated the behind-the-scenes mastermind’s great power.

Within Titan Group, the security department was one of the three divisions with the highest salaries, with the department head earning millions annually.

And once one betrays the organization, the consequences are extremely grim.

To make security chief Winston Pendleton a collaborator, the other party must have offered an irresistible deal.

Moreover, daring to overtly covet Golden Eagle Group’s businesses in Five-river Province was a testament to the adversary’s formidable strength.

“Boss, where to?”

Aron Jackson walked up to the car window and asked softly.

“Is your sister-in-law safe? You must ensure her absolute safety.”

Thinking of Quella Radcliffe, Julius Reed felt somewhat anxious.

If the other party had such detailed information, they would certainly know about his relationship with Quella Radcliffe. If anything were to happen to her, Julius Reed wouldn’t be able to forgive himself.

“Don’t worry, Boss. I’ve already dispatched a substantial number of people to protect her, and I’ve also informed your apprentice Cosmo to ensure her complete safety,” Aron Jackson nodded. Upon learning that Julius Reed had been attacked, his first reaction was to send people to protect Quella Radcliffe. He was confident in his boss’s skills but knew his sister-in-law was his greatest vulnerability.

No sooner had he finished speaking, Aron Jackson’s phone began to ring.

“Ben Carmichael, what’s the situation over there?”

Upon seeing the caller ID, Aron Jackson hurriedly answered.

Ben Carmichael was one of the members he had assigned to protect Quella Radcliffe, and was also the overall leader of this operation.

“Immediately tighten protection, get my sister-in-law back to the villa! If anything happens, the boss will kill me first, and before that happens, all of you are dead!”

After saying this, he took a deep breath, bent over, and reported, “Boss, five minutes ago, your sister-in-law encountered a sudden attack. Fortunately, your apprentice is very skilled and wiped out the Shadow Warriors in a short amount of time. We lost about a dozen men, but your sister-in-law is now safely back in the villa.”

Aron Jackson said fiercely, “Let me find out who it is, and I’ll tear him limb from limb!”

Just as Julius Reed expected, they indeed went after Quella Radcliffe.

Ten minutes later.

A black SUV came barreling in.

It stopped behind the broken warehouse, and a man in sunglasses got out of the vehicle, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

“Boss, I’ve brought him to you,” the man said, as he pulled open the rear door of the SUV and dragged out a man dressed in a security uniform from the back seat.

Like dragging a dead dog, he hauled the man in front of Julius Reed with large strides.

The man’s face was bruised, and there were traces of fresh blood on his body; he had clearly been beaten before.

“Winston Pendleton?”

Julius Reed looked at the man on the ground whose eyes had been covered and whose mouth was stuffed with a towel, and called out to him.

“It’s him! The Security Chief of Titan Group, joined the Willson Group five years ago, betrayed the Group three months ago.”

Bane Cook took a deep drag on his cigarette and bent down to yank the towel from Winston Pendleton’s mouth.

Following that, he also removed the cloth that covered Winston Pendleton’s eyes, and then cruelly pressed the cigarette butt into Winston Pendleton’s eye!

Sizzle!

The scorching cigarette butt made direct contact with the eyeball, causing Winston Pendleton to let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered.

“Ah… Bane Cook… I’m going to… I’m going to kill you!”

The eyes, being one of the most sensitive parts of the human body, were burnt by the cigarette butt, causing Winston Pendleton to curl up on the ground, rolling around continuously.

“A bit heavy-handed.”

Aron Jackson swallowed hard; even though he was a ruthless person himself, seeing Bane Cook’s actions still made him shiver.

When he himself tortured, it was because the other party wouldn’t talk,

Bane Cook, however, started torturing right off the bat without showing a shred of mercy; his expression was cold and indifferent from beginning to end.

“A traitor, eh? Should I have invited him for tea instead?”

Bane Cook, smiling, glanced at Aron Jackson, grabbed Winston Pendleton by the neck, and shoved him in front of Julius Reed.

“Talk, why did you betray the boss. I can tell you in advance, today you’re destined to die. Whether you talk or not, you’re going to die. But if you don’t talk, I’ll make your life worse than death!”

Bane Cook pulled out a small knife from his waistband and gently traced it across Winston Pendleton’s face.

“Just kill me! I won’t reveal a word! Bane Cook, I know your methods, but don’t you look down on me, Winston Pendleton!”

Winston Pendleton, with only one eye left, trembled and spoke.

If he was doomed to die, why speak?

This made Aron Jackson feel incredulous once again; who starts off by telling the other person that whether they speak or not, they’re going to die, giving no last glimmer of hope, how to activate the will to live?

How to get the information?

“Mr. Bread, we’re all brothers, we’ve worked together for so many years, aren’t you making it difficult for me on purpose?”

Bane Cook sighed and asked in a pleading tone, “Just tell the boss, let me complete my mission, okay?”

With that said, Julius Reed knew Winston Pendleton was in trouble.

He had come to understand Bane Cook over the many years.

Capable, ruthless, but with a terrible temper, getting along with no one.

“Bullshit! I’m eventually going to die, why should I tell you!”

Winston Pendleton sneered, enduring the extreme pain as he looked towards Julius Reed: “I betrayed the boss, and I deserve to die. If you’re going to kill, then kill, no need for idle talk…”

Splat!

Before he could finish his sentence, Bane Cook’s knife swiftly cut off Winston Pendleton’s ear!

The bloody ear fell to the ground, and it took two seconds before Winston Pendleton felt the excruciating pain.

“Bane Cook! Even as a ghost, I won’t let you off!”

Winston Pendleton’s screams were heart-wrenching, his facial muscles involuntarily twitching.

“Become a ghost? Even if you become a ghost, I’d still be able to kill you!”

As he spoke, his blade sliced down, chopping off Winston Pendleton’s other ear!
