Chapter 201 After War

“We did it!”

The Everlasting members had been teleported back to the original place, the guild base.

The atmosphere turned into a boisterous moment. They really looked very satisfied with the victory they had achieved, even though it seemed impossible at first.

“Good job, Noah. You managed to cast the greatest total damage to the opposing tower.” Hiro tapped Noah on the shoulder. He felt that Noah should have been the MVP of the guild war that night, because the man was so focused on destroying the opposing tower.

“It’s really boring. I want to hunt players with my new powers, yet I was stuck fighting the tower behind the Noobie knight’s back.” Noah sighed, looking dispirited.

Hiro chuckled while Jacob, who was resting in the chair near the two of them, seemed to throw a displeased look at Noah because the man still called him a Noobie knight, even though he had managed to keep Noah safe like a personal bodyguard lately.

“You can do as you please if the opposing guild is a little weaker than Exalted,” Hiro promised. He knew very well how boring a guild war could be without hunting down the enemies.

Meanwhile, Wheelie and BighShow had pulled out a tray of dozens of beers and served it on the table..

“To celebrate our first victory!” BigShow exclaimed while holding up a bottle of beer in his hand. His eyes shifted to look at Hiro and waited for the leader’s signal.

“Don’t get too drunk. We still have two more games to win,” Hiro said calmly. He nodded in agreement with BigShow and Wheelie’s idea.

“For Everlasting! Today we are the winners!”

“Yes!”

“Everlasting!”

They lifted the beer bottle and gulped down its contents.

Meanwhile, in the guild that had just suffered a crushing defeat to Everlasting…

The atmosphere within the luxurious guild base suddenly turned tense and chaotic. The elite users were very upset and furious. They couldn’t accept their defeat.

They started smashing the tables with swords, smashing walls with guns, and swearing at those objects with harsh words.

Most of them even deliberately logged out of the game, even though the guild war wasn’t really over.

Meanwhile, Ace seemed to have a hard time calming them down. His voice was completely ignored by all of them, as if his status as Exalted’s leader was just a useless title.

“I’m sorry, Brother. I should have stopped Hiro,” said Liberty regretfully. She was worried seeing the expression on Ace’s face. Her brother’s face turned pale, and the man continued to hold his head in deep thought.

“No, Libe. This is not your fault. NightFall is too powerful. I underestimated him too much,” Ace explained in a reassuring tone. He always did what was best for his only sister. He looked at Liberty from head to toe, making sure his sister was okay.

“How about you? Are you hurt? Couldn’t you remember something? Does it hurt when you get killed?” he asked as he walked over to Liberty to take a closer look.

Liberty shook her head and took her brother’s hands, holding it gently. The girl lifted her head to look straight at Ace’s eyes, which looked like a confused person.

“Brother, I’m perfectly fine. I didn’t even realize I was killed at Hiro’s hands earlier. I don’t feel any pain at all.” Liberty tried to convince Ace again that she was okay.

“I’m grateful. I really sucked. I’m sorry, Libe. If only I was stronger here, I definitely wouldn’t let NightFall hurt you.”

“Hiro didn’t hurt me, Ace. He did kill me, but it didn’t hurt at all.” The expression on Liberty’s face seemed to show a mixture of disbelief and amazement at the same time. The girl still didn’t believe what she had experienced before.

“Are you sure?” Ace confirmed once again.

“One hundred percent sure.” Liberty smiled.

Ace breathed a sigh of relief. At least, NightFall’s choice of having prepared that special item to kill his sister was a considerate act. If it was him, he could never really think like that. Ace slowly became sure that NightFall really didn’t want to hurt his sister because like the man had said, Hiro loved his sister.

“Ace, can we talk?” Dimitri, who had been seen pacing restlessly in the corner of the guild meeting room, finally came over to Ace. He patted his leader’s shoulder from behind and ignored the suspicious looks that Alaric and Niklaus gave him.

“Of course. What is it? Is there any problem?” Ace arched an eyebrow, looking at Dimitri who still looked agitated. He didn’t look like the Dimitri he knew at all.

“You’re not under the morphine are you, Dimitri?” Ace narrowed his eyes, suspecting the strange behaviour of Dimitri who couldn’t stop moving his legs.

Dimitri shook his head firmly.

“Just me and you. There are too many people here, it’s noisy,” Dimitri added while signalling Ace to follow him.

Ace didn’t mind at all. It was true that the room wasn’t really appropriate for serious conversation because most of the tables and chairs in the room had been destroyed. However, because the guild’s savings were very large, Ace only needed to replace everything that was damaged with a new one after everyone was satisfied, venting their frustration.

“I will be right back. Wait here.” Ace said to Alaric, Niklaus, and Liberty, who looked disappointed because they weren’t invited to join him and Dimitri.

However, they just nodded in agreement and let Ace go out of the room alone with Dimitri without commenting.

“Is he involved in something?” Alaric chimed in suspiciously.

“It’s possible. Or maybe he is under the influence of morphine or heroine. Hadn’t he been addicted to it before?” Niklaus said with a big yawn. He was getting bored with waiting for them.

“What are you talking about? Are you guys talking about my brother?” Liberty acted as usual, forcing herself into a conversation she couldn’t understand quickly.

“No, but Dimitri,” Alaric explained in a gentle tone. With Ace gone, he had a chance to tease the man’s sister, whom he secretly had a crush for a long time.

Meanwhile, outside the room…

“Did you consider my request at that time, Ace?” Dimitri spoke in a whisper, as if he was afraid that someone might overhear his conversation with Ace.

“Which one?” Ace couldn’t remember the specific part Dimitri was referring to.

“An alliance with the killer player guild. They wanted to speed up the alliance. They’ve asked me once again.”
