I Only Tame Dragons

Chapter 64 Silphie, the Harpy Priestess

Von and the others stood frozen, mouths agape. Horizon's shamelessness had reached new heights.

Nyx smirked, crossing her arms with a sly glint in her eyes. "That's my servant for you," she said, her voice dripping with amusement. "Keep practicing, and maybe one day you'll rival my level of audacity."

Von sighed helplessly. "Oi, could you have a little more tact, man?"

"Seriously?" Violet added, glaring at Horizon. "You can't just rob them blind! Leave something behind for them to rebuild with!"

The Lizardwoman raised her hand, shaking her head. "No, it's fine. We Lizardfolk live in harmony with nature since the beginning of time. Our true wealth is in the land and rivers. We have all we need here. Besides, we don't want those items that Uger acquired by killing.

They might be cursed."

Horizon gave a satisfied nod, relieved he wouldn't have to knock them out to steal their treasure. "Good. That works."

"Your thoughts is written all over your face," Lydia deadpanned.

With the priestess safe and their bags heavy with loot, Horizon and the rest of the party made their way out of the cave in full satisfaction, the sunlit path ahead promising a momentary respite.

On the way back, Silphie had regained her strength, and there was peace for a moment, giving Horizon a chance to study her. A Priestess, a Tier-4 class, she was a powerhouse of healing and support.

Noticing his gaze, Silphie turned her head, her innocent face resembling that of a child goddess. With her golden hair, thick white lashes, and delicate white wings, she had an ethereal beauty that turned heads despite her young age. When she fully matures, she would definitely cause a calamity.

Silphie blinked, then trotted over to Horizon and tugged at his clothes.

"Papa," she said, her voice innocent and sweet.

Everyone skidded to a halt.

"Egh?!" The shock echoed around the group as the word tumbled out of Silphie's mouth.

"P-Princess, she's not your father!" Violet frantically explained, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Harpies were predominantly female, so how could they reproduce? Sometimes they took men from other races, used them for their purposes, and then . . . well, that was a dark thought best left unspoken.

Silphie had never known her parents; they had perished long ago. But Violet had told her that her father wasn't a harpy, so Silphie hoped it might be Horizon. He was so powerful and cool.

"Horizon is too young to be your father, sweet little Silphie," Von said, smiling from ear to ear.

"They're just here to rescue you, Priestess. They're outsiders," Violet tried to explain, but Silphie's face crumpled in disappointment.

With big tears threatening to spill from her vibrant green eyes, she pouted, trying to hold back her sadness.

Everyone present felt their hearts melt at her forlorn expression; at that moment, they'd have given the world for her smile.

Except for Horizon, who thought, Is that Charm?

Nyx wasn't affected either. "Seems like it," she replied, rolling her eyes.

Horizon gently patted Silphie's head, his tone warm. "I'm not your father, but you can call me big brother."

Instantly, Silphie's sad face brightened, her usual poker expression melting away.

"Augh! She's like a porcelain doll! I love her already!" Lydia exclaimed, enveloping Silphie in her arms.

"Silphie! My dear little sister! You can call me big brother too!" Von clamored, practically climbing over Lydia to get closer.

"Hey! Stop hugging our Priestess! She's sacred!" Violet interjected, frowning at the commotion.

"It's fine, isn't it?" Lydia shot back, glaring at Violet while rubbing her cheek against Silphie's head. "She's one of us now."

Violet bit her lip in indignation, momentarily at a loss for words. She almost forgot that part.

Lydia's ample bosom pressed against Silphie's cheeks, making it hard for her to breathe. However, she found herself surprisingly okay with it.

Though she had always been revered as the Harpies esteemed leader and Priestess, she secretly longed for warmth and touch.

"W-What are they talking about, Violet?" Silphie asked breathlessly, her curiosity piqued despite her awkward position.

Violet paused, hesitating before explaining the entire situation.

"I see," Silphie finally replied after hearing about their deal with Horizon and the others.

"Don't worry; we won't endanger your life," Horizon assured her.

"Leave everything to your big brothers. All you have to do is stay in the back and support us," Von said, puffing out his chest.

Lydia finally released Silphie, much to her relief. "We're just going to compete after that you're free to go back home and do whatever you want. It won't be a dangerous competition at all!"

"I agree," Silphie said without hesitation, excitement sparkling in her eyes. She longed to see the world and was thrilled that she would finally get her chance.

"Egh? P-Priestess?" Violet's disappointment was palpable, sadness creeping into her voice as she realized Silphie had agreed without a second thought.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Silphie approached Horizon, extending her small hand to him. "I'll be in your care."

Horizon grasped her tiny hand. "Welcome to the group."

A warm light glowed where their hands met, and Horizon was taken aback when he sensed Silphie sending her stats to him. Even Von hadn't done that.

She trusted him completely, or perhaps she genuinely didn't care. Judging from her usual poker face, which now softened with a hint of joy, Horizon leaned towards the latter.
