Chapter 83

Episode 83.

The fragment of Setnak was indeed huge. It was a black rock that made you wonder how it was hidden in the Sky Castle’s dungeon. The huge amount of black energy it emitted was strengthening all the undead in the area.

[You’re brave, human.]

And there was a pale-faced knight who looked like a gatekeeper. Looking at his translucent body, it was obvious the knight was a ghost. However, that didn’t stop the cruel charge. Like a meteor falling from the sky, Jung Si-woo was racing to the ground with his bike.

[The sight of you rushing straight towards death is brilliant. You deserve to be our colleague.]

“Marina, get away.”

Her shooting was a long-range weapon, so it would be much better for her to fly using her wings and fire from a distance rather than to charge into the enemy’s camp. Jung Si-woo pushed Marina away as he sped up, and Marina nodded her head gently and spread her wings.

“I got it.”

“Yong Se-ha, use your helmet and get out. Protect Marina.”

“Okay.”

If he had a little more time, he would’ve at least targeted them step by step. However, he couldn’t relax when he thought of the Emperor guild flying in from behind. Aside from the fact that they were changed by the power of God, he couldn’t let them take the fragment of Setnak.

“Oppa, I’ll bless your weapon.”

“Yea, please.”

“Whoo… he power to return everything wrong to nothing. Divine enchant!”

As Soo Ah-rin chanted, his sledgehammer began to glow white. The hammer was still at its normal size, as it wasn’t necessary to inflate his weapon to deal with a man who wasn’t much different in size from him.

[Respect for his extraordinary courage…]

The ghost knight raised his sword in greeting. The pale black flame burning above it possessed a superior power.

[Die!]

“Hmph.”

Jung Si-woo caught his breath. All preparations were perfect. Although the first kick-off was only a coincidence, the cruel charge through the bike was clearly activated to boost his whole-body strength, and the physical strength from the granted skill, as well as the heavy strike, were all properly prepared.

“Whoo…”

[Kuuooo!]

If you asked if his combat power was full now, of course, it wasn’t. He had a great power skill he gained by transferring into a destroyer. However, the battle wouldn’t be over by getting rid of one of them, and he shouldn’t exhaust himself now. Most of all…

“I don’t even need to use the super strength!”

[Keuhaaaaaab!]

At the same time as the ghost knight raised its sword, countless other undead raised themselves to punish the courageous man for their god Setnak. However, Jung Si-woo gave them all a fierce look.

“Kneel down!”

[Keoh!?]

The waves that spread from him engulfed the whole area, or at least all the undead that came into his sight. His voice was filled with mana, giving it a terrible pressure that weighed down their shoulders. Even though they knew that the enemy in front of them was a human, they couldn’t help but feel something hideous inside of him. The undead instinctively held their breath even though they were already dead. Surprisingly, they were afraid of Jung Si-woo.

[D-dragon…?]

[That can’t happen…that’s ridiculous!]

“I don’t know what that was, but nice!”

Putting a bullet in the weakest spot of the target was easier for Marina than eating cold soup. In an instant, her twin pistols, which calculated all the movements she had to make, fired.

[Kahak!?]

[Keuaaaa!]

She was also well aware that the current situation called for a short-range showdown. She broke through everything else so that Jung Si-woo could focus only on the ghost knight and the fragments of Setnak!

‘As expected, we’re perfect partners.’

Marina’s beautiful pistols left only the ghost knight near Setnak’s fragment untouched.

[Human, I’ll kill you and bring you back to life. That power will be used for our god!]

“Whoo…!”

However, he was so focused on Jung Si-woo that he didn’t realize what had happened around him. Despite the war cry with the power of the dragon dignity, the power of the ghost’s sword didn’t decrease one bit. It was just that his movements and spirit were only slightly intimidated.

“Hmph!”

[Kah!?]

It was at that moment that Jung Si-woo’s blow struck its head. The sacred hammer wiped out the spirit gathered in its body and drove its body into the floor!

[You, you…!?]

“Sorry, I’ve wanted to say something since earlier.”

Jung Si-woo said, pulling the throttle again, hit the ghost knight with his hammer once more. It collapsed on the spot.

“You’re weak, but your mouth lively.”

There was no response. It was because the ghost’s torso was completely smashed. Feeling mana flowing into him, he realized that the ghost knight had completely disappeared. It was an absurdly bland match for a boss battle, but it was also a battle that proved that Jung Si-woo had grown absurdly.

“Hoo.”

Jung Si-woo put the mana stone and the ghost sword into his inventory and jumped off his bike. There was now just the fragment of Setnak in front of him. It spread evil, using its fascinating energy that attracted undead and even humans. When he reached the nearby area, he could hear the voice of God.

[Come and face a comfortable death. You will have eternal rest, without suffering.]

“I’m looking at the undead running from here, and you’re still telling me lies.”

[My slave…]

It would be hard for anyone to come so close to god’s fragment and say something as calm as Jung Si-woo. Soo Ah-rin in his arms was raising her sacred power to prevent any mental contamination! Maybe it was because he already engaged in a battle with a god’s fragment?

“Ugh, this might take years.”

He hit the fragment of god and confirmed that he couldn’t break it with his usual amount of power. Furthermore, undead monsters, whose mental breakdown was caused by the rapid disappearance of the boss-class monsters, became aware of the seriousness of the situation and were quickly gathering around Jung Si-woo.

“Marina, while you break this, the others…ah.”

“Ahh!”

Jung Si-woo, who was trying to ask Marina for help, looked up and wriggled his eyebrows. The Emperor guild, which followed them at an incredibly fast pace, was attacking Marina directly. Of course, Marina was fine, thanks to Yong Se-ha, who blocked them in the nick of time. At this point, a normal person would have asked why a Yong Se-ha suddenly appeared, but unfortunately, there were no normal people in the Empire guild now.

“What are you doing? I can’t believe you’re attacking me.… Are you sure you want to try it? I guess you guys think it’s funny that Marina Bissett holds a little of god’s power!”

“Gasp…you, you. Stop it! We’re Setnak’s…kkkgg?”

What’s this? Deja vu? Jung Si-woo had a sentimental look on his face when he saw the Emperor guild members running wild and not listening to their guild master. The Guild Master’s eyes were also slightly murky, which looked dangerous.

“We have to kill Setnak!”

“Setnak…!”

“I’m not Setnak, you morons!”

Not long ago, I could see them thinking and acting clearly, but as soon as they entered Setnak’s area, their senses left them. Didn’t he say that they issued an indulgence earlier? He was sure of it. So they were going to be okay, right?

“Marina, deal with them moderately. If they turn into a monster, shoot them relentlessly. Or lure them somewhere else.”

“I think you’re the one who’s relentless!”

“I’ve been…”

It was probably because of the confrontation between Louisos and Setnak that they were suddenly so senseless. So if you erased the signs of Setnak here, things would be solved. And if the situation didn’t improve doing that, they could think about what to do then. All right, perfect.

“I’ll crush this huge rock.”

[You crazy humaaaaaaaaaaaaan!]

[In the name of the Setnaaaaaaaaaaaak!]

“Why do they only talk like that when they call their god’s name?”

However, apart from the funny way they talked, it was quite a scary sight for tens of thousands of undead to attack at the same time. It was certainly too much to deal with while trying to break this hard fragment.

“Ah-rin, do you happen to have a shield or something?”

“Yes, Oppa.”

Soo Ah-rin jumped out of his arms and showed off her skills, returning to her original appearance. She was wrapped in a pure white priestly outfit and hefting the staff she loved to use until she retired. Jung Si-woo’s growth was so fast that all of her equipment had been restored.

[Po, power of life…!]

[Where did that powerful priest come from?]

“It won’t last long. Especially because of that fragment.”

A semispherical translucent barrier spread around them. Naturally, there were fragments of Setnak in it, which forced the shield to be very unstable. But all the undead who ran to them were thrown out because they couldn’t penetrate the sacred energy.

“Nice! Awesome!”

“Yes, I’m this good!”

Of course, she was a priest! He thought this was the first time she had a proper performance, but this was her time to shine! Even though her level wasn’t that high, it was still blocking tens of thousands of undead’s rushing in at the same time. At this point, her ability was clearly surpassing her power before she retired. But neither she nor Jung Si-woo had time to check that on the busy battlefield.

“If I break a lot of fragments, won’t the shield last longer?”

“If you know that, just hurry up!”

Jung Si-woo followed her words. The Emperor guild was left completely to Marina and Yong Se-ha, and the tens of thousands of undead to Soo Ah-rin as Jung Si-woo grabbed a hammer on each hand and recklessly began crushing Setnak’s fragment into rock chunks!

[What a fool. How does a humble being reject me now?]

“Hahhhhhhh!”

[I will give you time to get used to my power. Feel my power; it’s different from the lower gods like Laia.]

But the rock was hard, damn hard. Jung Si-woo grabbed the front paw and the giant’s roar, swinging them as if he were beating a drum. But only chips flaked off, and only Jung Si-woo’s hand was starting to hurt.

“No matter how hard I try, I can’t break it…?”

[Do you understand now?]

How long did he hit the rock? Apparently, it wasn’t that long, but Jung Si-woo muttered in a desperate voice, realizing that he couldn’t even leave a small scratch against the power of God. It wasn’t like this when he fought against the thunder god’s sign, and he came here after some estimation too. But why?

“Si-woooooooooo! They’re getting weirder and weirder!”

“Oh, Hyeong-nim!”

“Oppa, the barrier! A crack!”

[Keuaaaaaa!]

From that point on, Jung Si-woo was getting annoyed.

“Sigh….”

[Do you want power?]

Even the members of the Emperor guild were turning into something other than humans because they couldn’t control their power. And the undead that blindly called out god’s name and attacked the shield was annoying. But most of all, it was that Setnak bastard saying classic evil lines.

“Power is what I’ve always wanted.”

That made Jung Si-woo decide.

[Indeed, it is as pure a longing as your power. I also like that.]

“But power isn’t given by anyone else.”

Jung Si-woo was already strengthening his physical body by using his skill. His arm muscles suddenly doubled in size. He grabbed the two hammers roughly. At the next moment, his hammers went back to work.

[What…?]

“I’ve always worked for it myself!”

His arms struck downward. Two massive hammers followed the trajectory drawn by his arm, knocking on the huge black rock.

[Huh, what…?]

There was a loud noise. Setnak, who was examining the situation of the earth through its fragment, was struck speechless. The fragment of god was cracking.
