Chapter 92: Spirit Beasts
Chapter 92: Spirit Beasts
SKREEEE~
"Shut up, I'm trying to focus here." I calmly told the Baby Screecher. It was screeching violently for a while now that it was interfering with my concentration.
The Screecher Baby stared at me as it turned its head slightly sideways, implicating that it didn't understand what I meant. I sighed, but at least it stopped screeching like a madman.
<Automatic Qi Condensation has been activated>
<Target Qi energy will be absorbed>
<Would you like to proceed?>
<Yes/No>
After agreeing with the System, an unknown power surged within me as the layers of walls in front of me disappear in thin air. It's as if it didn't even exist. A shattering of glass could be heard from the walls of the tunnel as the Walls blocking the way were destroyed. It was easier than I thought at first. The Walls may seem high-leveled blockades but they were no match to the Automatic Qi Condensation Skill which could absorb the Qi energy of anything. Of course, I could only use it in my berserk state and it randomly activates but it's still pretty useful.
If I could harness the power of that skill to its full extent, then I may as well be themost powerful cultivator in the world. Everything would look like Qi energy, waiting for me to absorb.
And that's probably why the System set some rules on its usage and how it works. If I could use it freely, then I wouldn't need to level up and climb up the Realms.
The end of the tunnel was just a spacious room which were filled with priceless objects. But what caught my attention the most was the weird box which was in the middle of the room. I could detect a faint trace of Qi energy from the Qi Energy Ball located at the top of the tunnel. It was only one strand but the Qi energy being transferred to the box was of an incredible amount. At first glance, it may seem like it was just sucking in Qi energy a little bit at a time, but upon closer inspection, the thin strand of Qi was like a blood vessel that feeds of Qi energy to the box.
Whatever's inside the box was something that I should acquire no matter what.
Nervousness was beginning to catch up to me when I approached the box. I carefully lifted it up, hoping that the thing inside would be as harmless as I expected it to be.
I imagined the interior part of the box to glow up and shine a shimmering light towards my face but to my disappointment, what was inside was a mere pill.
Wait... no it wasn't just a mere pill.
"Kiiaaahhhhk~ " The Screecher Baby screeched once again as it saw the pill, or rather, the pill-like object.
Shielding my hands with my Qi energy, I grabbed the pill and observed it real close. From afar, it seemed like a pill which was being continuously fed with Qi energy from the Qi Energy Ball. But to my surprise, it was a different entity altogether. Not only was it alive, it was releasing a powerful aura as well, akin to Ancient Realm Cultivators or higher. Whatever it is, it should be pretty useful for my cultivator.
"Should I eat it?" I wondered.
"Yongrui, don't eat that!" Hui-ying exclaimed with panic. "That's not a pill."
"I know, but is it safe for me to eat it? It seems powerful." I asked.
"That's a Spirit Beast! A Spirit Beast! You don't eat a Spirit Beast, you fuse with it." Hui-ying instructed me. I could imagine her in my mind, flailing her hands as she tried to make it stop and somehow it put a smile on my face.
"I know what you do with a Spirit Beast! But is this really a Spirit Beast? It looks like a pill to me." I asked her.
"That's how they usually look if they are produced artificially." Hui-ying started explaining.
Artificially? Produced Artificially? What does that mean? I scratched my head in perplexity. I know that Spirit Beasts are meant to fuse with cultivators and they are usually found after killing a beast or if someone had the power to summon them from their dimension. Fusing with a Spirit Beast is a common occurrence amongst cultivators but fusing with a strong one is different. After all, it's so hard to find a high-leveled Spirit Beast. But after fusion, a cultivator will feel a great leap in his cultivation and powers. And sometimes, spirit beasts could give the cultivator an ability to transform.
And yet... you mean to tell me that this spirit beast on my hand is just artificially made? How strong could that someone be to make a spirit beast who's on par with Ancient Realm Cultivators, and I could see that its growth rate rivals those spirit beasts in the Transcendence Realm.
Whoever created this Spirit Beast must've been someone powerful. Amalgamation
"I didn't mean that a cultivator created it out of nowhere, Yongrui. That Spirit Beast was created using the Jar of Amalgamation." Hui-ying explained. "The Jar of Amalgamation is an artifact that allows Gold-Rank Spirit Beasts to be fused together. You do know that there are Seven Ranks when ranking Spirit Beasts, right?"
"Bronze, Silver Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Titanium, right? It's an easy, memorizable ranking table. How could I forget that." I answered with an air of confidence.
"Yes, and as I was saying, you can only put Gold-Rank Spirit Beasts or above in the Jar of Amalgamation."
"But Gold-Rank Spirit Beasts are already hard to get, right? Especially today where there aren't that many people who still kill beasts."
"Yes, Yongrui. And that's why it's so hard to use the artifact Jar of Amalgamation. Only extremely rich people were able to use the Jar of Amalgamation in the past and right now, it had gone missing."
So this Jar of Amalgamation is that amazing huh. If I could get a handful of Gold-Rank Beasts, I could fuse them together to make a Platinum-Rank Spirit Beast. But that doesn't mean the fusion will always work. I know that when it comes to artifacts like this, the success rates are never one hundred percent.
Wait, why am I thinking about this anyway? It's not like I'll go searching for the Jar of Amalgamation right now.
"I'm wasting my time here." I sighed as I attempted to put the Spirit Beast in my Storage Ring.
<Fusion Successful>
<Congratulations, you've fused with an Evolved Fanged Ice Wolf!>
"Yongrui! What are yo"
