Chapter 117
Chapter 117
But in the last week or so, Rieta hadn’t looked like that.
Plus this week!
That meant that there had been no contact from Elisha for two weeks.
Which was kind of weird.
Who was Elisha Maureen?
He was someone persistent to the point that, because Rieta was in the Empire, he would stay as well.
What’s going on?
By this time, Noel was naturally worried about him.
. . . Well, it must be something special.
But that worry was brushed away in a moment.
Now, more urgent than that, Noel’s sword training was a problem.
It was obvious that he would collapse from exhaustion if he did such vigorous exercise on such a hot day.
“Well.”
Noel went to his butler and asked for any letters that had arrived for his father.
“It seems that the young master has something to say to the Duke.”
“That’s correct.”
The butler gladly handed over the letter that had arrived for the Duke to Noel.
“Then, thank you for your kind cooperation.”
Noel took the letter to his father and took a deep breath for a moment in front of the Duke’s office.
He had to act as Gentleman Noel again from now on.
Because Rieta wasn’t here.
After he had fastened all of his buttons properly and adjusted his attire, he knocked on the door of his father’s office.
Soon, the answer came. “ Noel? Come in.”
Did Father see through the door?
Noel opened the door, thinking that it was very strange for his father to recognize the other person from the knock alone.
“I have brought a letter for Father.”
“Thank you.”
After Noel placed the letter on his desk, he took three steps back.
“And I came here because I have something to tell you.”
As the Duke nodded, Noel gathered the courage to open his mouth.
“I would like to take a break from swordsmanship training. Because of the hot weather, it will be difficult for me as well as the Master.”
“Well.”
“Of course, whenever it rains and the weather is nicer, we’ll resume! It’s not that I hate sword training . . .”
Noel had said so, but he felt a jab in his conscience. So he added words that were candid.
“. . . Sometimes I hate it a little . . . but I’m working hard, as it is a requisite to be a good gentleman.”
“That’s a great attitude.”
The Duke laughed a little at his son’s cute words.
Even if it was just gossip, he was watching with interest as they said he was impersonating a gentleman these days.
“If you will allow me a break from my swordsmanship training, I will use that time to study tactics.”
“That’s a good alternative.”
“Because my brother told me that it would be nice to do that . . .”
“I know. Instead, there are conditions.”
“Conditions?”
The Duke quickly wrote something down on his letter paper, sealed it perfectly, and handed it to Noel.
“I have put together the contents of your request so that you can directly deliver this letter to the swordsmanship teacher.”
“Me . . . You want me to deliver Father’s letter?!”
It was more than just an errand.
The Duke’s pattern was beautifully engraved on the envelope the duke brought out.
In other words, Noel was to deliver the Duke’s official message, and it was very important.
“Yes.”
Noel was overjoyed, and carefully embraced the letter.
“I’ll do my best! Very gentlemanly!”
“Of course I believe my son will.”
At the end of the Duke’s words, Noel was so happy that he felt like jumping on the spot.
Just like Rieta did when she received Elisha’s letter.
But as a son, he didn’t want to show his father that way, so he held on to it for as long as he could.
“Then, I will go back to my room.”
Noel forcibly pressed the corners of his lips that were raising at will and came out of the hallway.
Of course, as soon as he got out of the Duke’s sight, he jumped and hopped happily.

So the very next day.
Noel wore a proper suit despite the very hot weather.
“Isn’t it hot?”
Rieta next to him, biting the ice lolly, but he shook her head.
“Not at all.”
Rather, it felt refreshing.
He took the Duke’s letter in his arms and climbed into the carriage.
His master would visit the Duke’s estate once a week to teach Noel, and usually teach the cadets at the military academy.
So Noel’s carriage headed to the military academy where he worked.
Although there would be few cadets because it was vacation, the professors had to go to work because of their duties.
Hmm . . . Maybe I can see Elisha.
Even if they did have a vacation, he had nowhere to go. Thus, there was a large chance that he would remain in the dormitory of the military academy.
However, the moment Noel arrived at the military academy and saw the buildings and the endless expanses of land, he burst into laughter for some reason.
How can I even find him? It’s so wide.
It was about as likely as a stag beetle and a squirrel becoming best friends and living in the same horesidence use.
In other words, not a chance.
