I Became A System

Chapter 73 - Hypocrite

With a perplexed expression, she patted her butt to clean off the dirt on it. However, despite the expression, there's something behind it. The ulterior motive behind it is to try her newly regained energy. Since she barely has the chance to have this situation, she wanted to test if she could just at least see how can she contain herself.

"Why did you throw me out? That's unreasonable!" She complained but in an innocent-looking face.

The two just snorted to suppress their laughter. Although they succeed in it, they still released a snicker.

"Why don't you look at yourself. We are being lenient here, just get lost before we change our mind!"

However, Ellena wouldn't leave this place without even entering it. Though she has less energy than usual, she at least can use at least 2 or 3 abilities that would help her pass through them.

"Sighs…" Ellena purposely made it obvious that she sighed. As a result, the two were irritated by it, that there are visible veins on their foreheads.

"Y-You…"

"You really try to test us. I just said get lost before we lost our job if they saw you in front of here!"

As annoyed as they are, they lifted both of their spears, pointing them to Ellena to at least scare her.

However, they were startled when she just stayed on her stance. Giving them chills as if they would just get lose their job.

'Is she crazy? Does she want to be killed? If she doesn't move there, my job would be…'

One of them just shook before stopping. However, the other one was making a victorious face, creepy as anyone could describe it if they see it.

"At least you can be a tasty woman right?" He said with a lustful grin on his face.

Ellena, reading his movements gave her assurance. At least she could just move easily to make him pass out.

"Sighs… I guess I got too excited." She muttered before lifting her right hand's index finger.

Just before he could hit her with a horizontal batting attack of the spear, obviously skipping the blade of it to not kill her, a light of electricity flew fastly before anyone could notice it. It was as if a little light but it gave the guard's a numbing sensation, feeling paralyze of his legs.

"What?!" Both of them are surprised. Even though one of them stopped, he could still not see what she did, except when she lifted her index finger.

"What did you do?!" A guard that is lying on the floor asked. As his legs felt numb, unable to move.

Ellena smiled before revealing what she did. "Nothing special. Just shoot you some electricity."

The nonchalant expression just shocks more the one who was just watching them. He did not expect the result to be this one. Since he stopped earlier from the fear of losing her job, right now, he is more scared since there's really something with the young lady at their front.

The helpless man slightly moved her head, shifting it at the back to see his colleague in the corner of his eyes.

"Help me here! She's at least have a cooldown right now!"

Cooldowns are common to people, however, it is a must not be underestimated for trained one. Since there is a way to negate the cooldown, and it is to proficiently use your stamina fed to the ability.

"Now you did it. I can't stay any longer since you're obviously a trespasser, not a newcomer." The one at the back hissed before lifting his spear.

But before he could attack Ellena, another light flickered, hitting his thigh and lose his motors.

"No way… You must be a high-ranking rune owner." The both of them mumbled in horror.

It is commonly said that high-ranking rune owners have less or even don't have a cooldown, however, the knowledge of runes is monopolized by the temple that information about being proficient in one's ability or the type of rune is considered as a technique.

There are techniques to control one's cooldown, there are also to control the power of the attack, however, they are all considered as people can call it 'family secret' since it is important in the world to have the advantage of.

Magic is known to be high in cooldown so they underestimated Ellena. And Ellena, seeing it just grinned in delight before releasing more electrifying power of lightning, enough to pass them out.

She sighed after seeing both of the men lying on the ground.

"It's not my problem anyway. I'll just leave them right there." She muttered before climbing up the platform and entering the building.

"Finally."

***

"Why are people in this world are full of unreasonable and arrogant people." I can't help but vent out after Ellena's story of what she did.

I know that power is bloating one's head, but at least, in the modern world, it is rare to see someone who doesn't wary of one's hidden identity. Much less to try to offend anyone who appears to be less fortunate than them since they could be just someone who just experienced something but in reality they can just leave that situation.

Much less, being arrogant is not a good thing to fuel in judging people. As there is a quote, 'Don't judge the book by its cover', there is also, 'don't also try to judge the thickness of a wallet without seeing what's the content'.

Means, don't judge easily.

"They judge people easily," I added.

However, Ellena seems to differ from what I said. She lifted her eyebrow before speaking. 'You at least try not to be a hypocrite, no, Aaron?'

I was speechless for a moment. She is obviously right there, I also judge people hastily! But…

"Don't compare me to those people. At least I try to find the variables before judging them completely. At least, that's my judgment so I can take a credit of it." I responded with my head lift above.

That's the reality. At least I think carefully before jumping on one's boat. There's no assurance in everything if you think blindly. At least try to inspect things!

'Okay. I get it too. Even I am a hypocrite. But never mind, I'll ask this servant.'

As there appears a servant on the way, Ellena asked the servant to find the way to Verxal's place.

"Excuse me, I am here to find Verxal. Can you at least try to help me where's the way to his place please?"
