Human King

Chapter 70: Encounter (End)

Chapter 70: Encounter (End)

"Why is the World Lord Lavnera's servant, Warlord May, here?"

When May heard what Red said, a faint smile appeared on her face.

After all, she finally got her point across. The only reason why she released some of her power was to show it and make them identify her.

That was her lord's orders.

She then withdrew the power that she released, and her golden eyes returned to black.

Her hands were no longer holding anything.

Her opponent did the same. After all, Red was asked to ask May.

Despite Red's attitude, Boss was his superior, so he has to obey his orders no matter what.

"You don't have to know. Many guilds and countries are targeting the Warman; you don't want another enemy, do you?"

Red's face contorted when May mentioned the Warman's situation right now.

After all, what she mentioned was true. The Warman's fighting strength as a whole was strong, and because of that, they were wanted in many countries.

They were hired as mercenaries, and for being professionals in war, they did their best in every job they were told to do.

And in doing so, the enemy countries' hatred for them escalated just after a single war.

Their history was so bad for the humans outside their tribe, but at the same time, it was fear-inducing.

However, even if Red wanted to deny May's words and rip her apart right now while making a strong declaration that Warmen doesn't fear anything, he couldn't.

Destroying a Warlord of a World Lord isn't a simple task. If May was serious, he knew he wouldn't survive.

What's more, if the woman behind May was another Warlord, they won't survive even if Boss and Red worked together.

"Tsk. So do you think we'll just back off just because you're a Warlord? You're cocky for a woman, aren't ya. Huh?"

Red spoke while playfully swinging his sword. He walked towards Boss, who was separated from him because of the abrupt attack.

He continued arrogantly brandishing his sword.

The people of Warman were a nut tough to crack. They don't fear anything.

In fact, they find pleasure at finding opponents stronger than them. They were literally a fighting tribe.

However, if they clashed right now, the orders given by their princess would be disturbed, and they won't be able to commit to it.

Although they didn't know Narkus' real identity, Mahona's words were something they'll follow even to their deaths.

That was how important Mahona was.

"I just have one question for you. What are you doing in the forest? Did the Warman came hiding in the east?"

May spoke while having a straight face. Although she kept throwing insults, she didn't mean it.

She just wanted them to answer on their own accord, for she wanted to show and treat them with respect as Warmen.

Of course, things could go wrong at any moment.

"No, hmmm." Red spoke while turning his eyes towards Boss.

When Boss nodded his head, Red grinned a little before answering.

After all, it was a signal that says it was okay to tell the two.

"We'll join the goblin hunt that the church issued a while ago. Although I'm sure, none of the countries in the east are doing it seriously."

"Hmm. Then, why were you gathering monsters? If those were somehow to be released towards Rosas kingdom, you'd be entering an all-out war with them."

Red crossed his arms and nodded his head with a grin on his face.

"That's right. However, the words of the person at the top are absolute for us in the lower rankings."

It was then.

When May lowered her head and put a hand on her chin to think, the woman behind her walked forward and spoke with quite a charming voice.

"You'd best leave Raoz forest. Our Lord has already declared that the Raoz forest is off-limits to the underworld."

"!"

Whoooo.

The wind blew, and May's eyes widened when she heard the woman speak.

Although she didn't show it on her face that she was shocked, Boss still noticed it.

After all, Warlord she may be, Boss was still a strong man, feared by other men.

And that reaction made Boss think.

What kind of woman would make May surprised just because she spoke? Although the content of her message was shocking for the two men, it shouldn't be for May.

They were comrades who went in here, after all.

That's why Boss decided to play with it. His instincts were telling him that they'd better play along with what the woman was saying, or they won't leave here alive.

Boss immediately signaled Red about what he wanted to say, and of course, Red didn't plan to betray Boss' expectations for him.

"By Lord, do you mean World Lord Lavnera? Even if she did forbid anyone from coming here, we don't need to get her permission. We are not her dogs."

Even though the words and the meaning were quite aggressive, it was actually a sign of respect for World Lord Lavnera's authority.

Why? It's because the Warmen formally acknowledged her by speaking her name. At least, the two parties wouldn't fight this way.

One of the servants of Lavnera already mentioned her, and even Red spoke of Lavnera's name.

If the two Warmen still dared to attack them and continued disputing, it was throwing mud to the World Lord Lavnera's face.

"Then, be careful not to meet us again in this forest." The woman said while gesturing for May to follow her.

Of course, May just followed her as if nothing was wrong.

The two women's footsteps resounded out in the hollow but tense quiet atmosphere.

Whoooo.

The wind blew, and with it, the two women's presences were erased.

The two men just watched them leave. Well, it was actually Boss who just watched them leave.

Red was already overlooking his monsters' corpses and was lamenting while having a smile on his face.

Boss walked to Red and spoke with his hands. He didn't want to speak with his mouth right now.

"I'll follow your instructions, Boss. But, why did you just let them go like that? It's not like you were weaker than that bitch."

Indeed, if Boss were to fight while putting his life on the line, he might match May in a battle.

Of course, that was only considering that May was planning to play with him while Boss was going all out.

To answer Red's questions, Boss moved his hands articulately while having a grin on his face.

"Hmm? They'll leave after this? How can you say that?" Red spoke while tilting his head.

What Boss said was that the two were planning to leave after their encounter with the both of them.

It was reasonable for Red to doubt what Boss 'said.' After all, they were just entering the forest, and now, they'll leave?

How can that be? Was Red's thoughts.

However, Boss was sure as he continued speaking with his fingers.

"If they were going to enter the forest, they wouldn't have made up that lie...? Hmm, was what she said a lie? I didn't notice it."

It was then.

The busily moving fingers of Boss suddenly stopped as he talked with his real mouth while having a smile on his face.

"Hahs righh." (That's right.)

Then, Red just nodded his head without questions as he spoke.

"World Lord Lavnera, huh. Is she aware that her subordinates are using her name?"

Probably not. Red thought.

After all, they were the only people present here. And if they weren't Warmen, maybe Boss and Red would have died.

If her subordinates were to use her name like that, even the mysterious leader would have to make a move.

"Then, what do we do? Do we just wait for them to disappear?"

Boss nodded his head.

They didn't have to risk fighting them if they were going to leave of their own accord.

Even though they have the numbers, the quality of the people sent here was average within Warmen.

They wouldn't want to waste their resources on a factor that would leave the stage so quickly.

But, it was also because there were also quite a few geniuses mixed within them.

This expedition's goal was to cultivate the young geniuses, like Red, and hunt the goblin king.

If those young geniuses were to die here, that would be a huge loss for the Warman tribe.

That was also the reason why Boss was sent here. He could probably be called a strong man even within Warmen's people.

He was here to safeguard those young ones who were trying to get experience and kill the goblin king they were to hunt.

After all, even if it was the goblin king, Boss could easily take care of him.

"Alright, Boss. I'll wait for the others to show up here before we talk about how we'll go through it now that the monsters are gone."

Originally, they were going to hunt the goblin king with the monsters they collected in the forest.

Mahona personally instructed these methods because she wanted to finish it quickly and because she emphasized that it was a priority to find something within the goblins.

Well, whatever it was, it would be something formidable.

Boss nodded his head, and when Red saw that, he disappeared on the spot, looking for his comrades within the vicinity.

His steps were light, but that soon would change.
