Chapter 155 What Am I?
[You do forget the original host rarely smiled. Even Kritz had noticed]
'Shoot!' Hisha hissed in his thoughts.
[There was no reason to be happy with the failure to locate Dalsa]
Sigh!
Hisha puts up a blank face as he stares back at Aster.
Nodding his head, a smile tugged at his lips at the intriguing change. "I'm glad you enjoyed your brief visit, my lord."
"I will alert Lancaster after his nap about your fond interest in him." He concludes.
Kritz took the stone jug, "could I?"
Aster was visibly disturbed by how polite the Vandrik was, he thought it might be due to the influence of his lord.
Slowly nodding his head, he gestures for him to take it and jokes, "we could always make another."
Kritz's mood was suddenly uplifted after that, holding onto the jug with his left hand.
Opening up a portal, Hisha gave a light nod and walked through it.
Zwwp!
Crash!
Aster turned over the table in rage, kicking on some cutleries, and stepping on the spilled cup of wine on the floor.
Roaring, he hyperventilated as he let out one final scream.
'They think they can boss me around?' He scoffs, rolling his eyes at the thought of his book in the hands of Hisha.
"I will get it back, just you wait till I get stronger!!" He calls out to no one, raising his fists, his eyes glowing with determination.
*****
Stepping into the hallway, Hisha looked down and back at how it is lonely and devoid of anyone passing by.
Opening his arm to get the book, he gave a weak smile. "Thank you for assisting me today."
"It is my duty, my lord."
[Charm+5]
Hisha raised a brow to the new point stats visualizing.
'What's the least amount of points I can gain from an individual?'
[Five]
Hisha had a smirk tug at his lips as though glad about what Kritz had said.
In reality, he was glad that he could get points from anyone, not just his harem members–a point worth getting to be granted full immunity.
'If I get points in this way, it means getting the immunity wouldn't be that difficult.'
[Well... host... it is my duty to elaborate once you're alone]
Although HTC's words sounded a little fishy, Hisha nodded his head to HTC and ultimately to Kritz.
"Thanks for the help." He says, patting his shoulder.
[You should get to your room, the quicker you get to sleep, the better it is for your depleted Sux, host]
'I already know that, HTC.'
[I have to remind you, just in case of slight distractions you might encounter]
'What could that be?'
Kritz gave a bow in respect to the commendation from his lord.
[A certain succubus]
Hisha's body stiffened at the thought of not meeting up with Alta for some time.
'Fuck!'
Feeling uneasy at the thought, he let out a sigh.
Holding onto the book, Hisha bid Kritz farewell for the day, turning the other way to get to his room.
Kritz watches with a smile until Hisha was out of his line of sight.
Yawn!
Shaking the jug, Kritz thought of the pleasure he could derive by drowning himself in wine.
'It's about time I visit Gad. A drink with someone shouldn't be that bad.'
*****
Laying down on his bed, Hisha tossed the book onto the pillow.
'Do you think I would ever find Dalsa? Would the original host want to take control of his body once I do all the hard work for him?'
He had given it a lot of thought as to the reason the previous host had acted the way he did.
He had acted like someone who had gotten his heart broken and was merely working on his emotions when dealing with others.
[You have made more progress than the other host and you have something you never had previously]
Sitting up, he scoffs at the thought of what that might be. 'Let me guess, you?'
[That's right but not the only thing that you possess. The emotional attachment isn't present, which is why you can think much more rationally than he had done]
Hisha stared at the mirror hanging on the wall.
Getting off the bed, he made his way toward the mirror, almost as though he was possessed and curious about what he had seen.
Placing his hand on the mirror, "do you think I might be like him? I feel like my true identity is getting lost the more I interact with others in this world.'
[...]
Outlining the sharp jaws on the reflection, he continues whilst combing through his hair. "I kill without any form of remorse and sometimes it's thrilling, what the hell am I?"
He thought back to the first few weeks he had gotten to the land of Kurg, how he was mentally disturbed by the barbaric and easy way of killing off anyone that went against the usual norms.
'Haha! How can I witness a head being ripped off by Kritz and feel fine?'
HTC placed a worried emoji for its host, wondering why he was suddenly being so sentimental.
Punching at the mirror, Hisha furrowed his brows as he stared at the bloodied fractions of the mirror.
Bam!
Bam!
'If that fucker takes over this body after I've gotten all he couldn't, it's gonna be an internal war!!!' Hisha barked in his thoughts.
Bringing his hand to have a look, he let out a peal of crazed laughter at the wounds rapidly healing.
'I really can't die huh?'
[Host? Are you alright?]
Nodding his head, he turned to his side, opening a portal to a land with the majority of its mass being glaciers.
Picking the mirror, he flung it in and closed up the portal.
'I have worked for this shitty life that I got! No one is going to take it away from me!' He declares with determination.
[Host, you just need some rest, yes, that would do]
Touching his bare chest and over his heart, he furrowed his brows at the rhythmic thumps of his heart.
'It beats like the normal way anyone would.' Hisha jokes with a bitter laugh.
Picking up a side table with relative ease, he raised it over his head.
[Host, no!]
Crash!
Huff!
Huff!
HTC watched the damage that had been caused, it looked similar to the start of the damage that had been caused before Kritz's presence was known.
If there could be any time to distract its host, HTC hoped Kritz would be at the door again. It couldn't properly understand the thoughts of its host after the casualties that were done in Kurg.
'HTC, why am I the overlord? Why an immortal? What the fuck was the original host thinking taking over such a twisted land?!'
Bam!
Bam!
He continuously punched into the table, never caring about bits of wood flying toward his face.
[Host, fits of anger wouldn't bring back the dead]
'You see, that temptress has some sort of way around this, why not me?!!!' Hisha counters.
The one thing that pissed him no matter how he wished HTC could divulge was the fact that he didn't know the bone of contention Yoru had with the original host.
'What piece of information am I missing? Why do I have to be caught in all these weird conflicts?!'
Laying on the floor, he closed his eyes. Wiping at his face, he let out yet another chuckle. 'There wasn't even a tear.'
He looks at his dry palm, shaking his head at the sight.
If it had been the Hisha Fang that works in the record store, he would have bawled his eyes out at the numerous deaths caused by him.
'I guess that's how it is now.' He nods his head, trying to adapt to the thoughts of his new life that flashed before him like a dream.
[What life would you have preferred, your previous life or this?]
'The weird thing is I'm slowly forgetting what I had in my previous life.'
He raised his hand towards the ceiling as though reaching out.
'That girl I had a crush on in the record store, what did her face look like? How did her lips feel? Nothing!'
Bringing his hand down, he let out a sigh and shook his head.
Looking at the user interface that popped up, signifying HTC's intent on speaking.
'Do you think I'd want to go back to something uncertain?'
[I had not thought about how you would feel, host]
'It's alright, you've done nothing but help this stupid host.'
Hisha wished he could get HTC to materialize itself into something he could hug.
[I was wrong, host, you are the only host I've ever known, and was the most fun I've ever had with the journey with you]
Hisha let out a chuckle, it felt equally weird to have HTC speak with such sentimental words.
'Are you trying to cheer me up?'
[I just might be. You can't repeat the same actions the previous host had made]
Pushing himself off the ground, he sat upright, suddenly curious about what that could mean.
'You're hiding something, what could be so difficult to say?'
