Chapter 266 The Mainland Connects With Purgatory
The demons filled the skies, blotting out the sun and spreading across the horizon like a plague, their blood-curdling cries echoing down to the world below. Countless, they flooded the landscape, and Wang Li's expression hardened as he realized the sheer enormity of this invasion. Fighting the demon lord had taken all of his and his allies' strength. Facing a force this vast would be madness.
Xia Qingwu looked at him, her worry evident. "There are too many of them, Wang Li. Even with all our power combined, this is more than we can handle. We need a plan."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Wang Li's jaw clenched as he watched the demon swarm descend. His mind raced, sifting through the options. Taking a breath, he turned to his allies, his decision resolute. "We need to hide—at least until this situation calms down. Fighting head-on against an army this size is suicide. Our best option is to go underground, away from the demons' detection."
Song Jingyan, nodding, replied with a concerned glance at the darkening sky. "Hiding is the only logical choice right now. We can gather our people, regroup, and strengthen our defenses. When the time is right, we'll emerge and strike back."
Wang Li issued his orders swiftly, not wasting another moment. "Gather your trusted comrades, family members, and those close to you. Bring them to the Holy Devil Dragon Sect. We'll take the entire sect underground and shield it with every illusionary and defensive array I can muster. We will survive this, but we must act fast."
The women dispersed without question, each radiating resolve. Wang Li watched as Xia Qingwu, Song Jingyan, Xia Bingling, Wang Xiangyi, and Liu Xue summoned their spiritual energy, vanishing in bursts of light as they moved swiftly to gather their allies. The stakes had never been higher, and each of them knew that every moment counted.
Jiu Lan gave him a lingering look, a hint of confidence in her gaze. "I'll be back soon, Wang Li. Don't you dare vanish without me." She smirked before vanishing into the shadows, ready to secure her network of loyal followers.
Wang Li took a deep breath and, with a flick of his wrist, pulled out a series of communication talismans. His network of allies spread far and wide, including many powerful women from prominent sects and clans who held high positions in both righteous and demonic organizations. He had spent many nights cultivating bonds—intimate, powerful bonds—with these women, and now was the time to call upon them.
With a pulse of his spiritual energy, he activated each talisman, sending out a summons to his hidden mistresses, who were palace mistresses, family leaders' wives, or cultivators of great renown. In his message, he urged them to bring their families and closest allies to the Holy Devil Dragon Sect for refuge. The demons were pouring into their world, but with the sect's protective wards and hidden location, they had a chance to survive the invasion undetected.
He waited in the grand hall of the Holy Devil Dragon Sect, pacing slowly as he looked around the cavernous chamber. His heart hammered with a mixture of anticipation and tension, his gaze constantly shifting to the entrance where he expected his allies to arrive. Time was critical. The demon horde above would begin searching, and he needed everyone safe within the sanctuary of his sect before he could take action.
The hours wore on, and one by one, his allies began to arrive. Familiar faces filled the hall: his family members, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces; his wives, mistresses, and secret mistresses, all leading groups of trusted comrades and their loved ones. Even his children and, to his surprise, a few secret children he had fathered over the years were there, each bearing a look of both fear and admiration for their father.
"Thank the heavens we made it," one of his mistresses, a striking woman with a fierce presence, murmured as she entered, looking around the grand hall in awe.
Wang Li nodded, giving her a reassuring smile. "You're safe now. All of you are. We'll protect each other."
It took nearly a full day for everyone he had summoned to arrive, each group utilizing the teleportation formations he had set up with his allies long ago. The barrier around the Holy Devil Dragon Sect held strong, the triple-layered celestial protection shimmering faintly under the weight of so many arrivals, but holding firm against the demons scouring the surface above.
Finally, as the last of his allies arrived and the hall swelled with the combined energy of his gathered forces, Wang Li prepared to enact his plan. He turned to the crowd, his voice calm but carrying a steely edge.
"Now that everyone is here," he began, his gaze sweeping across the gathered faces, "we will be moving the entire sect underground. I will set up the necessary barriers and formations to keep us hidden from the demon horde. It will take all of our strength, but together, we can protect ourselves and regroup for a stronger counterattack when the time is right."
He reached deep within himself, summoning the full extent of his Yin and Yang powers. He raised his hands, channeling the energies outward, and a blinding light erupted, casting a veil over the area. The demons above, sensing the sudden spike in power, were momentarily blinded, unable to see the sect beneath them.
Quickly, before the demons could recover their sight, Wang Li focused his Yin and Yang energies, his hands pressing to the ground as he poured his power into moving the sect underground. The earth groaned and trembled as the entire Holy Devil Dragon Sect began to descend. The vast structure shifted downwards, sinking beneath the surface with a speed that rivaled the best earth manipulators, remaining hidden from even the most adept demon scouts above.
However, the strain was immense. Wang Li could feel his energy beginning to wane, his reserves almost depleted from the colossal effort of burying the entire sect. Just as he began to falter, he felt warm hands press against his back, and soft voices surrounded him with reassuring words.
Xia Qingwu wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head against his shoulder. "You're not alone, Wang Li," she whispered.
Song Jingyan, standing close, placed a hand on his arm, her presence soothing. "We're with you, now and always."
One by one, his mistresses joined him, each placing a gentle touch on his shoulders, arms, or back. Their Yin energy flowed into him, bolstering his Yang energy, allowing his Yin-Yang Cultivation Ability to activate. He could feel his reserves replenishing, their combined energies merging with his and giving him the strength he needed to complete the task.
Wang Li breathed deeply, feeling his body rejuvenate as he drew power from his allies' support. Their energy not only restored his strength but amplified his abilities, allowing him to infuse even more power into the descent. With a final surge, he pushed the sect further down, burrowing deeper into the earth, until the surface felt like a distant memory.
Once they were securely underground, Wang Li set about weaving a complex network of array formations. He placed defensive formations around the sect's perimeter, each layered with traps to keep any intruders at bay. He summoned intricate illusionary arrays, casting powerful veils that distorted any attempts to detect the sect's presence from the surface.
Then, he created the celestial barriers, the strongest form of protection in his arsenal. Layered with the combined essence of his Yin-Yang energy and powered by the contributions of his allies, these barriers shimmered faintly before vanishing from sight, leaving no trace of the sect's underground location.
After he completed the last formation, Wang Li stepped back, breathing heavily but satisfied. He looked around at his gathered allies, family, and loved ones, each of whom had put their trust in him.
"We're safe for now," he announced, his voice carrying an undertone of relief. "The demons won't find us here, not with these protections in place. We will lay low, gather our strength, and when the time comes… we'll be ready to take back our world."
A sense of hope settled over the crowd, a quiet resilience as they prepared for the long wait. They were hidden, united, and ready to face whatever lay ahead. Wang Li took comfort in their presence, knowing that together, they would face any threat—and emerge victorious.
