Chapter 338: Chapter 338 – New Weapon and Armor!
[Your Contribution is 7%. You have the 3rd highest contribution.]
[You may choose:
1. Grandmoo's Fur
2. Grandmoo's Rock
3. Grandmoo's Bone.]
— Ooh, rank 3!
— It's average. He didn't manage to get rank 2 and get the tusk or horn. Those are good materials for weapons
— How can he get the third rank? Is it because he's late at finding the blood vessel?
— Breeze is a few seconds late at finding the artery and immediately ran away when he's commanded. If he stays a little longer, rank 2 will be his.
— A shame, but it's already good. He can make a sword with bone or armor with fur. It's a win already
— Choose fur! Fur is superior! Believe me.
— Why? Bone Sword will be more useful. I think he should take bone
'Rank 3?'
"7% contribution is rank 3?" He asked, "It's higher than I thought." He continued, stroking his chin as he looked at the notification.
There were three choices. Based on his understanding of monsters, the most important part would be the tusk or the horns. Both choices were missing from the ones he could choose, meaning the first and second rank had already chosen them.
"What should I choose?" He pondered greatly and looked at three options.
The first choice would be great as armor. The second was something he didn't know what to use for. And the third… Maybe it could become a bone sword?
'While it will increase my attack power because of its material, I don't think bone sword will have good durability. It will definitely be lower than the tusk or the horn, so it's not that worth it. On the other hand…'
His gaze darted to the first choice—the fur.
'Increasing my defense would be good. I can hunt Small-Class monsters and get monster material to create a better sword. Garrador's beak or claw will make a better sword than Grandmoo's bone. I can also find good ores later. Besides, one of the chats said it's a shame I didn't get the tusk or horn.'
Nodding, he looked up at the camera.
"Alright, I've decided. I will take the first choice, the fur!"
After he made the choice, the mercenaries began to move toward the monster to dismantle it. Jamal approached him and stopped next to him.
"You did it, newbie. Hahaha, I never thought you would get the artery—good judgment and power. Hahaha." The yapper laughed loudly and patted his shoulder. "Your reward will be given once we arrive at the station. I will show you how to use them later."
Max felt complicated. If he said yes, he would definitely hear Jamal's yapping again. But if he said no, he would be clueless. His viewers couldn't be trusted either.
"A-Alright. I am counting on you, Jamal."
He decided that it would be safer just to follow the professional yapper rather than being clueless. It was probably a part of the tutorial. This man was a plot device through and through. An NPC prepared by the game to help the players navigate through the plot and teach them everything.
While the experienced mercenaries butchered and dismantled Grandmoo, the rest returned first to get a monster wagon to store the meat and everything. The ride to Utopia only lasted 3 seconds, as it was skipped by default.
Max stepped out of the train with Jamal, who had an exclamation mark above his head. The yapper had a big grin on his face and pointed at the blacksmith's direction with his thumb.
"This way, newbie. Let's make new armor and weapons for you. Hahaha, I got the tusk, so I will share it with you before selling it. What kind of weapon do you like?"
"Huh? You will share the tusk with me?"
"Of course! Hahaha, you're a good newbie for me. I will take care of you on behalf of Caesar. Besides, seeing you struggling earlier invoked a seniority in me! I must give you a new weapon, I thought."
Now, this was surprising.
If this was the natural development of the game, then Max made a good choice.
'I will get both new weapons and armor with this.'
"Thanks, Jamal!"
He followed the yapper to the blacksmith and heard his explanation. To order a weapon was pretty simple. You just needed to tell the blacksmith the main material of your new weapon and what kind of weapon you wanted to create.
Then, the blacksmith would give you the list of required materials beside the main one. When you gathered all of them, just pay a required fee and he would create your desired weapon in a minute.
'Pretty simple system.' Max thought as he looked at Jamal talking to the blacksmith.
Apparently, for this first time, Jamal would provide all the materials he needed to create a new great sword and fur armor. The yapper told him to only pay 500 Gills, which he certainly had, as a blacksmith fee.
After he paid 500 Gills through the system window, the blacksmith called a few people from the station. Max wondered what he did, but apparently, the blacksmith was calling on people to bring the material to him.
Which was strange. Would the material that was dismantled earlier have already arrived? But Max didn't need to worry about that.
No matter how realistic and how much freedom this game had to offer, it was still a game. Just like the skipping feature, all materials were already in the warehouse when the player arrived at Utopia.
Many muscled men brought Grandmoo's tusk and fur alongside some ores and pelt. They threw them behind the blacksmith and the large man began to work. He threw everything into a hot furnace and hammered the ore.
Everything looked pretty real, but the process was fast. Before long, a new fur armor with a dirt color and a large sword shining against the furnace light lay in front of him.
"There you are, Grandmoo Tusk Sword and Granmoo Fur Armor. Analyze them."
Nodding, Max equipped both of them after putting his old armor and weapon in his inventory. He opened up the equipment menu and checked the new equipment.
[Grandmoo Fur Armor – Rarity 2]
[An armor made from a Grandmoo's stiff fur and monster pelt, protecting the wearer from a slight cold and heat. Defense +15]
The same screen appeared when he clicked on his sword.
[Grandmoo Tusk Sword – Rarity 3]
[Sword created from Grandmoo's hard tusk and Mirite Ore. Strong and durable]
[Sharpness: 150]
[Durability: 250/250]
Looking at the status, which was way better than his old equipment, his lips curled up into a happy smile.
"This is great!"
— Damn, everything looks great
— Jamal is the guy! I told you Jamal isn't just a random yapper!
— You must apologize to Jamal, Breeze. You've violated his good name!
— Jamal the Yapper! Or more like, Jamal the guy!
— The sword will be able to split my dik into half
— Kekeke, the armor will allow you to go into a hot area now. It resists a slight heat.
— Apologize! Apologize! Jamal the guy!
[TheGuy has donated 1,000 diamonds!]
[Apologize to the guy. He's a good senior, not just a yapper.]
Max grunted as he read the chat. He knew that his act toward Jamal was unwarranted… or not. The guy was truly yapping a lot, so he wasn't at fault!
"Thanks for the donation, TheGuy. But I won't apologize. The guy himself doesn't know what I call him. Hmpf!"
— What the?! Did you just pout?
— Naahh, it's disgusting
— Don't do that. You can't imitate Princess Peach or LilyPixel. It's so disgusting, dude
— Naaah, my eyes! MY EYESS!!!
— HOW DARE YOU VIOLATE MY EYES!
[LovelyOtter has donated 500 diamonds!]
[I am sorry, Breeze. But this donation is for you to never do that again.]
[FreakingNoob has donated 1,000 diamonds!]
[If you're high, then please stop the stream and take some pills. Don't violate your fans' eyes.]
Now that was rude. But it was something worth apologizing for.
"Sorry…"
