Chapter 191: Chapter 191 – New Streamer Gathering [1]
Night came quickly with anticipation.
According to MadLad, 10 streamers, including Max, would attend tonight's gathering. Five of those streamers were from the same streamer agency as MadLad, Bamboo Talent.
What the streamers did in the gathering was chat or play some games together.
It was just like a normal friend gathering, but they would livestream it on their own channel. It could also be called blind dates with female streamers too, although Max wasn't particularly interested in that. He just wanted to meet other streamers and talk with them.
Apparently, many new streamers in the past also did this kind of gathering to support each other. All of them had similar followers and viewers, ranging from 100 to 300K, with an average 2K viewers. Only Max was a few levels above them.
Still, those were already impressive. Not many could reach that level in just a few months of streaming, considering the harsh competition among newbies. Max was just an unnatural phenomenon. He was also lucky to get many promotions because he stood out.
"Well, let's meet the fellow streamers, then."
It was now 6:40. Some streamers must've arrived in the Lobby already, considering the time. So, Max decided to dive into the VR world.
The Lobby he was invited to was not that large. In fact, it was only the size of a large room. It was designed to look like a bar, complete with a bartender NPC.
On the side, connected to the bar, was an assortment of party games like billiards, darts, bowling, chess, and even a small basketball court.
Looking around the Lobby curiously, Max found two people already sitting on the bar counter. One of them was a familiar figure, MadLad. The other was a woman with dark blue hair tied in a ponytail. They seemed to be conversing and stopped to look at him.
"Yo." MadLad greeted him by raising his hand. "You're here."
"Good evening." Max greeted him back and approached the man with a harsh face. "Thank you for inviting me. I never expected you to reach out to me, hahaha. I honestly thought you hated me because you glared at me in that program."
"Ah, that."
MadLad scratched the back of his head, looking apologetic.
"I was on edge… I mean, I was so nervous in that program. RoninKnight told me many times to calm down, but that didn't work. And I had a big ego, so… I kinda didn't like it when I saw someone more skilled than me. My bad. I didn't hate you or anything, though."
"I see." Max nodded in understanding. He understood MadLad's point. "Apology accepted."
'He's competitive and hates to lose. The type of someone who will give a bad impression at the first meeting.'
Thankfully, Max didn't really care about MadLad when he first met him. While it was confusing why the guy who glared at him asked to exchange contact when the program was over, now he understood why.
At that moment, the woman sitting beside MadLad coughed loudly.
"Cough, I believe I am air now. Go ahead and continue your conversation."
Both guys looked at the woman, who wore a frown on her face. She seemed to be displeased after being ignored and glared at MadLad, seemingly blaming him.
Getting flustered, the harsh-looking streamer immediately followed it up.
"Ah, I forgot to introduce you. This is Breeze. I met him in Knight's Journey program." MadLad gestured at Max, and he nodded when he was introduced.
"And this is Amelia, the organizer of today's gathering. She is in the same agency as me and will pass her first year as a streamer tomorrow. Well, she's the oldie here."
"Who is the oldie?!" Amelia retorted loudly and knocked MadLad. He was about to complain but was shut up with just her glare.
Looking at them reminded Max of something.
'Ah, they look like Flexy and Lisa.' He thought, nodding to himself.
The difference was that MadLad didn't stay silent like Flexy, and they actually bickered with each other. They only stopped when he spoke.
"It's nice to meet you, I am Breeze. Thank you for inviting me today." Max said, extending his hand forward to stop their bickering.
The girl, Amelia, looked rather embarrassed of the display she showed in front of a stranger. Her cheek turned slightly red as she shook Max's hand.
"My apologies for the shameful display, Breeze. I am Amelia Reaper. You may call me Amelia. I should have thanked you for attending despite such an absurd invitation instead."
"Hahaha, this gathering sounds fun, so I am also interested in it. I just never have a chance to attend one because… Well, I don't know other newbie streamers besides LilyPixel. And she's not exactly someone with a large circle, just like me."
"Ah, understandable." Amelia nodded in understanding. "If I remember correctly, she's an indie and only streams occasionally, although she has a lot of viewers and often broke 5K. And you… Well, unlike agencies, your affiliation isn't exactly filled with newbies."
"You're right." Max smiled sheepishly and scratched his cheek. Biozone Entertainment's affiliated streamers were all big names and were pretty busy with their agendas.
He only knew two of the twenty-four people in it, and that was Flexy and StoneSword. The relationships between talents were almost non-existent because they usually didn't need to work together, unlike those in streaming agencies.
"Well, I hope we can become friends. Don't be too stiff with us." Amelia said, laughing merrily.
She asked him to sit next to her, and he did that because there was no other chair next to MadLad. He was sitting on the edge.
The three of them conversed over drinks while waiting for the other people to arrive. Naturally, Max ordered juice instead of alcohol due to the PTSD caused by Flexy.
They talked about streaming and asked Max for tips to gain viewers like him. Even if Amelia and MadLad's average viewers were combined, it wouldn't reach 10K.
Max happily told them the method he used. Other streamers were similar to competitors, but they were also friends. Even if their number of viewers grew, it wouldn't affect him too much because his specialty was different.
After waiting for a few minutes, five people arrived at the bar with a flash of light.
