Chapter 296 Who Is Raydon? (Part 2)

After a brief pause, Dan turned his gaze to the short-haired girl who had been patiently waiting nearby.

"Master has not returned yet," the girl bowed and replied.

"I don't know when our master will be back, but if it's not urgent, you can wait here," Dan suggested, hopeful that Raydon would return soon.

He had never been missing for such a significant amount of time before, and they anticipated that he would soon return.

"Actually, it's not that urgent, but there isn't much time to deliver the message," Belicia sighed, feeling a sense of urgency herself.

The main purpose of the message was to invite their master to the banquet scheduled for the following day, and if she couldn't deliver the message today, the invitation would lose its significance.

Actually, in addition to the message she was supposed to convey, Belicia wanted to meet this person face to face and thank him. Before, he had helped her in a roundabout way by killing Herman and rescuing her brother and friends, and now, by assisting her brother in becoming an item holder, he had healed her brother's legs. Because of this, she desired to personally convey her appreciation for the favor, despite the fact that it was something she would never be able to pay back in her lifetime.

"That's unfortunate," Belicia said dejectedly, continuing with a smile. "Anyway, you're invited too. I hope your master won't be angry if you take a little break from your training."

"Us? Why are we invited too?" Sami asked in surprise.

They knew that Belicia worked for one of the ruling families, so it seemed natural for that family to invite their master to the celebration. But they were just regular item holders who had just recently awakened, so Belicia's invitation did not really make much sense to them at all.

"You are friends of young master Raydon, right? Since this celebration is somewhat related to him, they decided to invite you as well," Belicia explained.

"Raydon? Young master?" Dan and Karan exclaimed simultaneously, shocked by the revelation.

"Why are you so surprised?" Belicia asked, confused by their reactions.

'They don't know Raydon's background?' Belicia wondered. She was certain that Dan and the others knew Raydon, and she presumed that they were friends because they both trained under the same master.

"Hm? Who is Raydon?" The young woman with short hair was taken aback by the shocked expressions that appeared on the normally dominant and self-assured faces of her captains, and it piqued her interest enough to prompt her to ask the question.

"Ha? What are you asking? Of course, that's the name of our master," Sami replied, casting a sidelong glance at her as if she were an idiot.

The girl suddenly felt embarrassed by the response and lowered her head, thinking, 'How could I know? You always call him god or master.'

"Your master's name is also Raydon?" Belicia paused for a moment and asked suspiciously.

"The only person we know by the name of Raydon is our master. If you're talking about someone else, we don't know," Dan thought and said, frowning.

"Wait a minute. The maid who came here before also referred to our master as a young master, and she was talking about taking him away," Karan recalled of the previous interaction with Tika.

At that time, they had thought Tika was just a crazy, lovestruck woman infatuated with Raydon, but now they were starting to realize they had been wrong about that assumption.

"Now, this is getting confusing. Can you please tell me who this blasphemer with the same name as our god is?" Sami asked, wiping the sweat mixed with mud from his forehead.

Sami and the others had no idea where Raydon had come from, which is why they were perplexed when they saw that Belicia now knew him after Tika and when they heard that they were calling him young master.

The frown that was already present on Belicia's face deepened as she said, "There appears to be a significant misunderstanding here." If Dan and the others were not playing a joke on her, which was highly unlikely, then the confusion was a major issue.

'The master they are talking about and my young master Raydon cannot be the same person, can he? ' Belicia pondered.

Belicia couldn't help but think about the enormous power Dan and the others' master had displayed in not only killing Herman but also eradicating his entire territory. In addition, the person who Belicia knew as Raydon did not seem likely to have such an extensive knowledge of advanced techniques, let alone the ability to teach those techniques to others.

"Can you tell me a little bit about your master?" Belicia asked.

She found it hard to believe that Raydon, who had spent his entire life as a plant and had only recently awakened as an item holder, had accomplished all these remarkable feats. Despite this, she was aware that anything could occur in the world of item holders; consequently, she chose to give it a chance and listen to the details regarding their master.

''Then we can begin to talk about the time that we assaulted him in one of the side streets in order to steal his money. '' When Karan thought back to the day they had first met Raydon, he was struck by how incredibly naive they had been.

"What? We weren't trying to steal anyone's money, Karan. Get your facts straight," Sami quickly interjected, eager to correct the misunderstanding. "That day, when we saw the master wandering alone, we immediately sensed that he was no ordinary person. We decided to approach him, kneeling before him, and humbly request his guidance and training..."

''Aghh. '' Sami's words were abruptly cut off as he fell to the ground, clutching his head in pain from a sudden blow.

"Well, now that this fool is finally quiet, I can explain," Dan stated while maintaining a serious expression on his face. Since the issue pertained to Raydon, he approached it with the utmost seriousness, with the intention of, if at all possible, discovering each and every facet of the person to whom he owed his life.
