Chapter 122 - End Of The Invasion
Chapter 122 - End Of The Invasion
Yuna took a deep breath and started scanning the stadium with her eyes. By now, this so-called invasion was pretty much over. Naruto has defeated Gaara and the Uzumaki clan members, who were responsible for creating the barrier stopped supplying it with chakra, and instead started detaining the few remaining enemy shinobi with chakra suppressing seals.
Next, her eyes landed on Ino and Haku, who seemed to have teamed up with a few shinobi from Konoha. Although Yuna was pretty far away and couldn't be completely certain about it, it didn't look like they got any dangerous wounds.
Yuna's eyes fell on the battle between Hiruzen and Orochimaru, which looked like it was over as well. Both of Orochimaru's hands were burned to a crisp, while Hiruzen seemed to have lost his left arm and seemed to be poisoned.
'Considering Anko just arrived on that battlefield, Orochimaru will probably run away. Since Anko is pretty low on steam as well, chasing him wouldn't be a good idea. Oh well, now that both his arms are in that state, his danger level has decreased quite a lot.'
"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!!! THIS ISN'T OVER YET!!!"
'Woah, that's some real cliche lines right there. Another one of these and I would have to demote him to a small-time criminal.'
Orochimaru, however, decided to not say anything else and fled with the four people that created the barrier in tow.
'I really want to hunt him down, but I am pretty much at my limit as well. If I push myself further, I will deal quite a bit of damage to myself, which isn't worth it.'
A few moments later, Anko approached Yuna with a smile on her face.
"Yo, as always you look like you can easily keep going. Just how much chakra and stamina do you have? Isn't this getting a little ridiculous?"
Yuna chuckled a little when she heard that.
"I am just good at acting. In fact, I will probably faint pretty soon."
Anko looked at her in bewilderment.
"Faint? Why? You look completely fine."
"Mainly due to chakra exhaustion. As I already said I am pretty good at acting, and since I have no physical injuries it makes pretending even easier."
Anko was still looking at Yuna with some doubt while Yuna only chuckled a little. She could already feel her consciousness fading, but her strong will kept her standing. If she had to, she could still keep going, but since the fights were pretty much over, she saw no need for that.
"I will probably wake up in about 24 hours and will be completely fine, so no need to bring me to a hospital. Oh, and I would really appreciate it if you could catch me before I smash into the ground. Thanks."
After saying that, Yuna let go of her consciousness and fell towards Anko. Anko was still completely bewildered but managed to catch Yuna safely, anyway. She looked at Yuna's sleeping face and could only chuckle.
"She can't even lose consciousness like a normal person, huh."
One day has passed since the invasion attempt on Konoha. Overall, the whole incident ended in a resounding victory for Konoha. Not only were there barely any losses on Konoha's side, Konoha's shinobi even managed to capture the three children of the Kazekage, with one of them being a Jinchuuriki.
The greatest loss was, without a doubt, that the current Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, lost an arm. This means that he would no longer be able to perform ninjutsu, which weakened him significantly. Additionally, rumors spread through Konoha, that he was still very exhausted from the fight and that it would take a while for him to recover.
Yuna, meanwhile, was lazily waking up from her long sleep. The first thing she noticed was that two people were lying next to her, which didn't surprise her too much. Then, her senses extended further and she noticed that they were apparently having two guests.
'Kakashi and Zabuza, huh? I wonder if Zabuza is giving Naruto a hard time concerning Haku. How are you, Kurama?'
[No problems. Or rather, after punching Hashirama, I feel really refreshed.]
'Haha, that's good.'
Feeling something stir next to her, Hinata slowly opened her eyes. When she saw that Yuna was awake and looking at her, a happy smile appeared on Hinata's face.
"Good morning, Yuna."
Although it was clearly already afternoon, Yuna decided to not let that bother her.
"Good morning, Hinata."
Hinata leaned forward and gave Yuna a kiss, which Yuna reciprocated.
"Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?"
While Yuna snickered a little at Anko's comment, Hinata started blushing, but still did not stop the kiss.
"Hoo~? Someone is getting bolder, huh."
This time, Hinata stopped the kiss and hugged Yuna to hide the redness in her face. Anko, on the other hand, approached and kissed Yuna as well. After going back and forth with the kisses for a while, they decided that they should get up. Yuna was pretty sure that Kakashi was here for a reason after all.
After changing clothes, the trio went downstairs and as soon as they reached the living room on the ground floor, they could pretty much feel the tension in the air. Naruto and Zabuza were both standing and glaring at each other. Haku has apparently decided to blend into the background while Ino clearly had schadenfreude due to Haku's plight written all over her face.
Kakashi, meanwhile, was casually drinking some tea, while looking like he wasn't even aware of the current situation.
The trio greeted the few people that actually noticed their entrance and as soon as they sat down, Yuna whispered a question towards Kakashi.
"How long have these two been like that."
Kakashi only shrugged his shoulders before answering.
"No clue. They were like that when I arrived ten minutes ago."
Yuna gave him an understanding nod before taking a sip of the tea Hinata just poured her.
"Guess we will just wait and see what happens."
A few minutes later, Naruto and Zabuza nodded their heads at each other and then shook hands.
"Very well, I acknowledge you."
"Haha, thanks, you are pretty good as well."
"""…"""
"Kakashi is that one of those things only men can understand?"
Kakashi, however, didn't answer and only looked weirdly at Naruto and Zabuza, which could probably be considered an answer to the question.
'Kurama?'
[Sorry, I got nothing.]
When Naruto sat back down, he noticed that Yuna had woken up and a broad smile immediately appeared on his face.
"Nee-san, it's good that you woke up and… err… there is something I want to tell you."
'Oh? He looks a little guilty. I wonder what happened?'
"Haha, just say it Naruto."
"*cough* Haha, I… kinda made a new friend… It's…err… Gaara."
'Gaara? Who is that?'
[Have you seriously forgotten that? He is the host of the Ichibi.]
Yuna could only roll her eyes at that comment from Kurama.
'I obviously know that, but that guy is an insane, psychotic killer, so Naruto is obviously talking about someone else.'
"Okay? The only Gaara I can remember is the Ichibi guy. Who are you talking about?"
Hearing Yuna's answer, Naruto couldn't help but look embarrassed while staring at the ground. Yuna saw that and immediately understood what was going on.
'He DID befriend the insane, psychotic killer!? What the hell!?'
[Good for him. Instead of only following his sister's footsteps, he started to ascend his own path towards insanity.]
"Err… Okay? It is your choice, so I won't interfere but you better stay vigilant around him. If I have to save you because you were too trusting of him then…hehe."
Naruto shuddered a little when he heard Yuna's chuckle but still nodded his head in understanding.
Next, Yuna put her attention on Kakashi.
"Well, I assume you are here for a reason?"
"Correct, Hokage-sama told me to wait until you wake up to tell you and everyone here, that he wants you to come to his office as soon as possible."
"Oh? Sounds interesting. Let's go right away."
