Chapter 38 Permission
"The Outlaw Gang? What the fuck is that? We are a small branch of the Wolf Gang that controls this neighbourhood and you messed with the wrong guys," responded the boss of the small group as he burst out into laughter.
Connor's strong front wavered slightly, and he completely lost composure when Zack added, "The Wolf Gang is the biggest gang in Brooklyn."
"The biggest gang in Brooklyn! Are you trying to get us killed Zack?!"
"I-I'm sorry."
"Sorry?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Seeing that they were afraid of them, the bunch of youths burst out into laughter and in all honesty they weren't very capable or intimidating, but the ones behind them were.
The Wolf Gang was on an entirely different level and was known for its ruthlessness, so it was understandable for them to react that way.
Even the NYPD couldn't handle them.
Having many small branches of their gang in most neighbourhoods, they had hundreds of members and everyone that had heard of them knew not to mess with them.
But Connor wasn't afraid of the gang itself.
-
"Zack, call Xavier for me," instructed Connor, as the bunch of youths began to circle around him.
"W-Why? Shouldn't we run?"
"No, just call him and ask if I can fight back. If I can't, I'll take the beating, but if he gives me permission to let loose, these fuckers really have pissed me off and I will teach them a lesson."
Having enough of being looked down upon by a bunch of delinquents and wanting to let loose for once, Connor was eager to take them on.
However, before doing so, he needed Xavier's permission, knowing that if he fought them in the name of the Outlaw Gang, that could cause them a lot of trouble.
Zack's hands were shaking as he took his phone out of his pocket and called his new boss, and as he did so, he helplessly watched Connor starting to be attacked by the Silver Claw Gang.
He wasn't going to fight back until he got permission to do so, but he had his pride and wasn't going to run away, so all he could do was block and dodge as many of their attacks as he could.
The only issue was, unlike Xavier, he wasn't very flexible or agile, which was to be expected for someone of his size.
He was able to dodge a few, but most of their attacks landed and all he could do was endure as Zack frantically waited for Xavier to answer his call.
-
Jumping around Achara's dojo, Xavier was still being chased by her and was trying his best to avoid her attacks as she continued her wild onslaught of attacks.
Hearing his phone ringing, at first he wasn't going to bother answering, but then thinking about all the people that had his number, he cared about all of them and it was important to answer.
Seeing that it was Zack, he tutted and mumbled, "What does this little nerd want?"
"Achara, stop, for now. I need to answer the phone," he said to her before answering the call.
"X-Xavier! Connor is being attacked by a group of gangsters. They are the Silver Fang Gang that is a subsidiary of the Wolf Gang and he doesn't want to fight back until you give him permission," rambled Zack, who spoke as quickly as he possibly could.
Barely understanding what he had said, Xavier was kicked by Achara, who didn't stop like he had told her to and he was launched sliding backwards and was winded as he gasped for air.
"Xavier! Xavier! Answer me!" yelled Zack into the phone.
With his left arm around his stomach, he said, "Tell Connor to beat the shit out of all of them for me."
"Are you thinking straight? The Wolf Gang is the biggest gang in Brooklyn and one of the biggest in New York. We can't afford to offend them and I thought you said Connor doesn't know how to fight!"
"Zack. Tell him to fight back and tell me where you are, me and Achara are coming now," Xavier instructed sternly.
Zack couldn't argue and called out to Connor, "You got the permission you needed."
As soon as he heard that, the giant man that was curled up into a ball on the ground and being kicked by multiple youths jumped up and let out a loud roar.
He truly was like a beast and all the youths backed away as he got up and wiped the blood that was dripping from his nose.
Unlike what one would think of someone of his size and character, he was a very observant individual, and after watching Xavier and Achara fight, Connor learned one thing.
When fighting, he had to stay calm and level-headed, as he began moving backwards, seeking to create some space between himself and his 7 opponents.
The boss of the small group hadn't bothered to continue attacking Connor, who wasn't fighting back and was just watching, but now that Connor had gotten up, he was on edge and ready to jump in at any moment.
Factoring that in, Connor kept an eye on all his opponents and his body was sore all over after all the blows he had endured, but the adrenaline rush and heat of battle had numbed that pain.
His pupils dilated and his heart began to beat rapidly, pumping streams of blood throughout his body as he took deep breaths and prepared for the first serious fight in his life.
From a young age, he had always been large and bigger than his peers and because of his size; he had always been able to scare off anybody that had a problem with him, so he hadn't gotten into many fights.
And he was also kind at heart and friendly, so there weren't many that wanted to fight him anyway, so combat wasn't something he was very versed in.
However, that's not to say he couldn't fight...
