Chapter 121 Possible Suppliers
Karim's friends had similar experiences to their young boss, who they saw as more of an older brother. Although they were going to be paid half of what their boss was, they were still more than happy with the fact that they were being paid.
Not only did they receive a small sum of money from working under the Wolf Gang, but they were also young and had yet to do much for the Outlaw Gang. And so, they weren't expecting anything in the first place. Yet, Xavier did not forget about them and gave them the same smile he had given Karim, glad that they were all happy to be paid.
But this was only the start.
In the future, such money wouldn't even appeal to them, as long as they lived up to Xavier's expectations and did all in their power to succeed. Which was exactly what they were planning on doing. And with that, Karim and his friends were even more grateful and driven to make all of Xavier's dreams a reality, which, in the process, accomplished their own.
Meanwhile, all the other 3 units upon arriving had similar experiences.
Appreciation, drive and excitement.
The mix of emotions left them all with smiles and determined looks in their eyes, with all of them leaving the office in a hurry. Most had a little skip in their steps as they did and while waiting for the rest of their unit to talk to Rachel and Eddie, or waiting their turn, most hung around with Karim and his unit in their abandoned arcade.
It wasn't the greatest, but the jovial atmosphere and each other's company made it nicer. Xavier at one point even felt like joining them, hearing all their laughter seeping through the old and creaky floorboards that he stood on above them.
However, what he and Zack were searching and preparing for was far more imperative. It was the last step in his preparations for taking on the 2 small gangs that the system had chosen for him. It was also crucial for the Outlaw Gang to be able to continue to develop. After completing that step, they would be able to purchase anything they needed with ease. This is as long as they had the money for it and successfully contacted the few individuals and organisations they had in mind.
But, the more they looked into things, the more they realised that doing so was going to be more difficult than they had thought...
-
After a few hours of researching possible suppliers for everything Xavier needed, Zack found only a couple that fit all of his boss' requirements. Xavier sought someone or an organisation that was neutral and willing to supply as long as he had the money, which most were. However, the rest of his expectations were absurd.
He wanted complete anonymity, rapid delivery, and the ability to contact them whenever he needed anything. There weren't many that could do so, especially with the restrictions on borders in America and the authorities trying to cut down on illegal trade.
However, by the end of it, Zack and Xavier narrowed their options down to 2 very famed individuals that ran enormous criminal organisations that were likely worth billions. Both would supply whatever was needed as long as they provided the money. However, after learning more about each of them, Xavier was able to easily choose between them.
One was a mysterious supplier who would only contact you once you had reached out to them. They'd decide for themselves whether they wanted to trade with you. The majority of those who did attempt to contact the mysterious supplier were rejected or ignored. However, those who were accepted never revealed who the individual was. They also always received what they requested the following day.
Meanwhile, the other was a much more renowned supplier who would sell whatever was needed to the highest bidder. He himself was known for previously running a gang that decided to avoid conflict by becoming a supplier. This made him extremely dangerous and not someone that many wanted to cross.
After telling Xavier all of that, Zack was trying to push Xavier towards picking the latter, who although was more dangerous to deal with, would be much more reliable. The former was more like an urban legend than anything, and even Zack couldn't dig up anything about them other than a set of contact details. Displaying their incredible information control, and leading Zack to believe they were even more dangerous than the renowned supplier.
But knowing Xavier, Zack was pretty sure he'd select the riskier option and he didn't even have to think about it much.
"I don't care if they are picky or don't respond to most, just contact them and await a response. You said they usually send you an address and a time to meet alone. If they do, I'll go. If they don't, we'll use the other guy as a backup option," Xavier decided.
Zack didn't bother arguing with Xavier or trying to get him to change his mind. He knew how stubborn he was, but he doubted that even Xavier could get a deal done with the Scarlet Fox. That name wasn't known by most, but those that were aware of it were at the peak of the criminal underworld.
The mysterious figure with a giant organisation behind them that could supply anything needed as long as they felt like it. That was all that was known about them. And, seeking the very best, while also feeling curious, Xavier wanted to see if they warranted such a reputation.
All he could do was wait and see...
-
Thanking Zack for being patient with him and helping him find a suitable supplier, which Zack had already started looking into previously as per his request, Xavier had one last thing to ask of him.
"Do you have the overview report finished yet?" Xavier asked shamelessly, knowing just how much he was relying on Zack to do alone.
However, the intelligent youth didn't disappoint him and handed over a folder to him.
"In there you'll find all the criminal organisations that I could find information on in New York. Then there's a brief overview of others that you should be aware of in the entire world. For right now, I'd recommend you skim over it and hand it over to others when we meet up at the firing range," stated Zack.
Xavier nodded his head before diving into the folder. He opened his eyes to what exactly he was up against and had to be wary of. Even some history of the criminal underworld was included in the folder. But it was not too detailed to the point of being boring or too long to read through.
'Zack really is a gift from God. Or maybe it would make sense to say fate or the system. Either way, he's amazing,' Xavier couldn't help but think to himself as he reached the end of the folder.
After reading through the entire thing, he was left amazed by all Zack had gathered and took some time to collect his thoughts. There was so much he realised that he didn't know about.
The biggest was that the Wolf Gang wasn't the only gang he had to worry about...
