Chapter 86- Nickname

I knew Satomi was in the building but to think that she was directly related to the mafia boss was something I never expected.

The way she barged inside the room shows her familiarity with this woman who was kneeling between my legs a moment ago. 

"Minami-chan, I told you many times to not just walk inside my room without knocking. Seriously what is Dave doing?" Dave must be the guard stationed at her door.

"Chinatsu-san...isn't that person a little too young for you?" Pointing toward me with her eyes, Satomi asked; unbothered by Chinatsu's scolding.

The oldest one in the room sighed as Satomi walked in my direction with a complicated expression. The fact that she wasn't embarrassed even though she saw her aunt and me in such a compromising position tells how accustomed she was to sexual stuff.

"Aren't you Naoko-senpai? Minoru-senpai's classmate?"

I wasn't surprised that she knew Naoko. Given his popularity because of soccer and his indifferent personality, he has a very elaborate fanbase in school.

"Yes, I am...who are you to Chinatsu-san?"

I wanted to know the connection between this girl and that woman. For Satomi, who looked nothing more than a simple and sweet maiden back then, to have a connection with the criminal organization...indeed, it was unsettling.

"She is my niece. My elder sister's daughter." Chinatsu spoke, in Satomi's stead.

It was surprising that she wasn't stuttering like before. It seems she was respecting my choice of not revealing my identity to Satomi.

I was about to say something to Chinatsu, when Satomi again spoke up, "Why do you seem familiar...even though we haven't met before?"

The way she was tilting her head from left to right was adorable...however, her growing curiosity made me stunned for a moment.

I glanced at Chinatsu and found that she had a complicated expression.

'Something is not right...' 

I decided to question Chinatsu about it later. 

"I think I should leave for now?" Getting up from my seat I asked Chinatsu.

She readily nodded, "A-as you wish, my l-*ahem* I mean, Naoko. Please return to your room and rest for the time being."

I nodded to her and glanced at Satomi. She still was looking at me like she was trying to discern my identity 

There was a high chance that Satomi was also somehow related to the supernatural world, given her aunt is a succubus. 

Regardless, I didn't pursue the matter and made a swift exit.

Once I returned to the room where I met Naoko, I reverted my form to normal and took Naoko out of the closet.

"Hmm, let's see..." I looked around the room and found a jar of water resting on the table beside the bed.

I held the jar above his face and poured some content.

The water splashed against his face and Naoko began to frown in his sleep.

"Mmm...ah! *Cough* " As he parted his lips some water slid down his throat, making him choke.

Thankfully, he got up from the bed and began coughing erratically.

I put the jug back down before the hateful comment arrived from Naoko, "Are you an idiot?! I could have died!"

"Big deal." I nonchalantly responded as I leaned my butt against the table and crossed my arms on my chest.

Naoko's muscles were highlighted beneath the bathrobe and because his hair was dampened because of sweat and water, it was sticking to his face. 

...alright he was kinda hot.

"How did I faint?"

"Doesn't matter. First, sit down." Naoko glared at me angrily. Although I could understand his stance, I couldn't care less how he felt.

He pulled a chair and sat across from me. 

Taking a deep breath I told him something that dissipated all his anger,

"You are no longer enslaved by that woman. The contract is now null and void. Nor do you have to pay her back."

Chinatsu was quite tamed in front of me, so I suppose she wouldn't defy my words to set Naoko free. Or well, if she does, I will do something about it.

For now, I was enjoying the mixed reaction Naoko had. 

From disbelief to shock and finally settling on suspicion, he asked, "...for real?"

"Do I have a reason to lie about this?" Naoko was smart enough to understand that joking about such serious matters was never my thing. And even if I was kidding, it wouldn't take long for him to find out.

"How did you do that?" Suddenly Naoko sprang to his feet and held my hand in elation.

The evident happiness and relief his eyes carried startled me for a moment but soon I collected my thoughts and replied,

"Just some connection."Taking my hand away I was about to make some distance when suddenly Naoko inched even closer and embraced me tightly 

"I can't tell you, how happy I am right now! You just...gave me another chance in life, Ru."

I grimaced. Not because of how tightly he was holding me but rather because of the way he just called me. 

He was the only person who used that nickname...and against that, I am quite vulnerable.

In the end, I allowed him to embrace me until he didn't calm down before Naoko slowly released me with an unusual smile lifting the edges of his lips.

"Even after what I did to you...you saved me...I-I don't know how I would repay-"

"Simple; just return to school and rejoin the Soccer club. Once I defeat you on the ground, I will be satisfied."

My primary reason for interfering in Naoko's life was because I told Coach that I would bring Naoko back to the field and snatch the position of the goalkeeper by fairly defeating him.

"...I will do that...but I am unsure whether you will like the results of the selection match."

Veins protruded on my head hearing those words before I glared at him.

"Say that again." I provoked.

In response, Naoko chuckled like someone who had heard a very funny joke. However, for some reason, I wasn't feeling annoyed by that laugh.

...somehow, he seemed like that old fun-loving, and carefree Naoko, who was my friend once.

"Seriously, you haven't changed Ru."

I frowned at that before complaining, "Stop calling me that."

Naoko's laugh ceased as he narrowed his eyes at me mischievously and said, "Why? You shy?"

Guh! This guy is so irritating!

A/N:- Hmm~the exposure to the other side...and these old friends reuniting. Satomi's strange origin and system's new side. Let's see where this goes.
