Chapter 102- The past

"It's me inside." Hearing Kouske's voice, the door stopped moving and a yelp echoed from the other side. 

Minoru heaved a sigh since if Kouske hadn't called out, then either Minoru would have used his skill to jam the door or have to replace her memories. Either case would have been a hassle to follow up with. 

And if possible, Minoru didn't want to alter the memories of his family members, at the very least.

"Sorry, Dad. Then...I will be going." Kaori called out before she rushed away.

Raising his brows with an unbelieving expression on his face, he asked the older one, "You actually came after hearing Shiori-nee's voice? Are you into exhibitionism?"

Minoru pointed toward himself before raising his brows in questioning. 

Kouske nodded at that and added, " Now let's not stay here for long. Once we finish cleaning up, I will go ahead first and clear the route for you. "

Minoru nodded and got up.

Something has definitely changed in these few years after she disappeared. 

"Hmm~You remember me? Given how you were avoiding me in school, I thought you might not recognize me." Rika made a surprised expression with her brows elevating. However, Minoru could sense the dripping sarcasm in her voice.

"You have changed Minoru....like a lot. Any motivation?" With her gaze narrowing and a thin evil smile lifting the edges of her lips, she added, "Or is it another target?" 

Minoru's heart sank a little after hearing those words. She hasn't forgotten anything—he discerned. It was natural for Rika to hold a grudge against him since Minoru had taken advantage of her vulnerability in the past and pushed her to the verge of the abyss.

"Rika...are you going to take revenge on me?" Her direct approach and her current attitude suggested as much.

" Hmm~why do you think I would-uh! Is it because you broke me emotionally four years and two months ago? Or is it because you forced me to take my own life? What would be the reason I wonder?" She pressed her index finger against her chin and thoughtfully tilted her head.

Minoru clenched his fist with his gaze now leaning downwards

Refocusing his gaze on her slightly crescent eyes, he asked, "I know apologizing now wouldn't do any good, but from the deepest depth of my heart, I feel guilty about what happened between us. I am the one to blame for your situation. And until this date, I carry that guilt on my chest."

"Really? Then what about the two other girls whom you fucked even though they still were in a relationship with someone else?" Her question was instantaneous like she anticipated something like that from him.

However, Minoru didn't show any sign of being nervous, as he also responded in the same manner, "I never felt guilty since I knew, they secretly wanted it as well. I just took the initiative and they gave in." 

Minoru meant what he said. Take Aoi for an example, she still tends to give in to her desire to have a dominating partner, even if she has to cheat on her boyfriend.

Minoru just played along and had his share of fun.

"Just like I gave in?" Rika asked, anger now leaking through her words. 

"No....you were manipulated," Minoru confessed.

However, that didn't subdue her anger, as Rika's eyes began to shine. Rising on her feet she leaned toward him, and spoke in a tone that trembled because of anger,

"I swear, everything I have gone through...those days when I wished to end myself...I will make you see that hell as well. Those whom you hold dear would betray you. Every friend, lover, and relative would abandon you. And when that time comes, I will be myself bestow death upon you. Remember that."

Rika got up and walked toward the window; intending to jump out, when suddenly,

"No, you won't."

Suddenly, Rika found raven chains wrapping around her body and before she could even fight back, Rika was pulled toward Minoru.

It took just half a second and she was...beneath him.

His blood-red eyes now flashed dangerously in the dimly lit room, as Minoru crouched over the girl who lay flat on the ground with the chains wrapped around her.

Rika felt a shiver running down her spine as Minoru suddenly extended his index finger and the said finger began to turn sharp like a spike.

Pressing it against Rika's head, Minoru spoke in a tone that contained nothing but utter indifference,

"Those who pose a threat to my family are no longer required in this world. Although I feel guilty for what I did, I never said that it would stop me from killing you."
