Chapter 179: Florida Man Publicly Criticizes Famed Self-Insert Harem Movie Director for Omitting Explicit Scenes in His Character’s Training Arc
"Well, this is unexpected." Felix looked up and watched Zen making a grand scene.
Zen landed on the ground and removed her headwear. She opened her eyes, gazed at Felix, and lowered her head.
"I owe you a favor, Sir Felix. Thanks to you, I have finally broken through."
Felix got to the point, "Well if you're so grateful, can you build whatever church on my land and transfer some of your sisters… like… 2,000 people to my place?"
Zen flinched for a moment when Felix mentioned the number. Still, building a cathedral was a lot of work. She would need a lot of manpower to transfer resources to build houses and cathedrals for her people. Therefore, 2,000 people was a reasonable number.
"Of course. However, not all of us will go with you since we have to repair the local cathedral and pacify the survivors of this city."
"You can just move everybody to my land though. I'll sponsor you a few houses if you cooperate."
Felix's appetite was huge. As he wasn't confident that he could maintain 2,000 civilians in his land, he decided to import as many people as he could.
"Fine, but we need some preparations to do. First, my people and I will help the locals restore this fortress since it's an important frontier against the Crimson Desert. Also, it takes time for our other reinforcement to arrive."
Felix's heart sank. He had less than 15 days to complete this task, so he could not wait. He urged Zen, "If I help you restore this place within a week, will you bring your people to my land faster?"
"…If you can, yes."
"Fine. Give me a day or two," Felix turned to Diana. "Can you drive?"
Diana nodded, "Yes."
"Drive back to our land and fetch the wooden resources. Bring it back here to help the people."
Diana tilted her head, "Can I operate the Fate Plaza or enter the external island barrier?"
"I'll adjust the permission. I think you can."
"Alright."
Felix brought out a military cargo truck, and Diana entered the vehicle.
Zen, Rosaline, Cornelia, and everybody stared at the manifested truck in shock. As soon as the vehicle's engine was on, its suspension shook, and the exhaust ejected black smoke, causing the people behind the truck to cough.
Diana peeked outside the window and asked Zen, "Wanna check the land before you move? I can show you around first. Also, if there's any civilian you need to bring over to scout the land, you can let them board the vehicle."
Zen frowned as she didn't fully trust Diana, "What is this… metal beast?"
"A truck."
"A…tuck?"
"A land vehicle like the carriages, but it doesn't require horses."
"…?"
Zen was interested in the modern vehicle. She turned to Cornelia, who nodded at her.
"Go and explore. We'll take it from here." Cornelia ensured Zen.
"Many thanks."
Zen then turned to Rosaline and other strong paladins. She picked up ten people and boarded the truck. Zen took the passenger seat at the front as she had a lot to catch up with Diana. Then, they took off, heading back to the flying island.
The group quickly arrived at the fortress gate, which was smaller than the truck. At a glance, the vehicle wouldn't fit the space there. As the truck was equipped with the usual barrier, Diana kept her feet on the accelerate pedal, blasting through the stone structures unfazed.
…
After Zen and Diana's group had left, Felix excused himself. He rechecked the tank in his inventory, making sure that he had collected it back.
Leaving the city, Felix made sure that nobody was looking. He then consulted Jessica.
"Jessica, can I head to the Chrono Gym and burn myself as usual? I need extra lifespan to stock up philosopher stones and some construction materials."
<Yes, granted that you have already allocated the crude mana oil in the tank inventory to your personal inventory.>
"Roger that."
Thinking of the newly upgraded oil derricks and oil refineries, Felix checked what they had produced so far.
…
Refinery Inventory A
- Mana Petroleum x 513,050 Barrels
- 1st Grade Mana Stones x 1,011 .net
Refinery Inventory B
- Mana Petroleum x 455,762 Barrels
- 1st Grade Mana Stones x 927
…
The resources piled up so fast. However, the crude mana oil stock dropped by half as they were converted into petroleum, which was later converted into mana stones.
Felix transferred crude mana oil to his personal inventory. He then eyed the petroleum as it was more refined. Testing the perks of the refined mana petroleum, Felix took off his clothes and poured some on his body. As usual, he lighted himself on fire.

<Your lifespan has increased by one year.>
<Your mana has increased by 100 points.>
<Your aura and mana have merged as one. You acquire 100 points of essence instead.>

Unlike the crude version, the refined version granted Felix essence every second. He then checked his status.

The leveling progress got slower after the last hurdle. In addition, his mana changed into essence, which was more efficient than before.
But for the moment, it was the time to grind. Felix activated the Chrono Gym ticket, which still carried over the unspent PT session time. He then vanished from this world, teleporting to the mysterious platform in the atmosphere of a strange sun.
…
Returning to the platform, Felix found Singtowl at his usual place. Again, he collapsed on the floor as the intense gravity pushed him to the ground, almost crushing his bones and flesh into a meat paste.
Singtowl calmly turned around and erected a gravity negation for him. He looked at Felix's unsightly condition and brought out an elixir once more.
"You're finally back. I almost forgot about you." After feeding Felix the elixir, he stood up and crossed his arms, "Ready for another training session? What do you want to learn this time?"
Felix dryly laughed, but he still lay on the floor, recovering his stamina. He asked as he was curious, "How long have I been away? Or rather, how long has passed since the last time we encountered?"
Singtowl smirked, "I don't count days or seconds. Of course, I was meditating and absorbing essence from the sun. Dates, months, years, hours, whatever the time measurements are, those are no longer my concern. My lifespan is pretty much infinite as long as I'm staying here. Worldly matters are unimportant to me."
"…How nice. What about spouses and offspring? Do you have any?"
Singtowl's expression changed. His glowing eyes flared as Felix stepped on a landmine, "Ask that again, and we'll quadruple your training intensity."
"…I'm sorry, sir."
"Get to your point. What do you want?"
"I'm here to accumulate lifespan, sir. Can I use this place for that reason?"
Singtowl smirked. He fell into deep thought for a minute and made an offer, "If you focus on accumulating lifespan without training, you will break the rules of this place. Therefore, I'll allow you to do so after you finish one full set of the usual training routine. But after you've reached your goal, you must improve one of your skills or learn a new ability from me. Only then can you leave this place and retain the leftover hours you haven't used yet."
Felix found it fair. He nodded, "Alright, master! Make me stronger!"
"That's the spirit! Now, go warm up! I'll start the gravity intensity to your Earth's 30G! Get ready!"
"Yes, sir!"
With that, Singtowl coached Felix for a total of 50,000 hours in this world.

<You have left the Chrono Gym (Class-D) earlier than scheduled.>
<You have spent a total of 50,451 hours in Chrono Gym. You still have 429,802 unused hours.>
<A Used Chrono Gym (Class D, 429,802 Hours) has been issued and transferred to your inventory. You can resume the PT sessions by using this item.>
<A reminder, you have two Chrono Gym Tickets (Class D, 429,802 Hours) and (Class D, 530,400 Hours). You can give it to your familiar to train if you don't have enough time to manage them.>
Felix opened his eyes and found himself at the same place that he had parted.
It had been almost six years since Felix had gone, but only a few minutes of this world had passed.
Felix's physique grew older once again. He now looked like a man in his mid-20s, maturing into a fine adult. He also acquired new skills from the spartan training sessions.

Felix glanced at his status window and closed it. He now had everything he needed for the city restoration.
When Felix was about to reenter Balicano City, Jiji's system portrait manifested. She reminded him, "Master, you have grown older again. I don't think the others will recognize you. Why don't you purchase and consume an age-reduction pill first?"
"…"
Felix paused and nodded. He explored the system store and navigated through the cosmetic section. Searching the keyword "Wu Buyi", Felix found a thousand pages of products made by the alchemist. He sorted the price tag next and found many defective products with one-star reviews on sale.
Some of them were expired age-reduction pills. The quality varied as it could either make him look one year younger or a decade younger.
Felix still had the pill that could make him 10 years younger. But as he didn't like going to his teenage age, he purchased a five-year version, spending 500 years of lifespan in total.
The amount was nothing to Felix now. He could even empty the stock at any time. However, he had other items that he needed to stock up. He input the next keyword "Philosopher Stone".
Ten pages of various philosopher stones appeared. However, they were made by different alchemists, and the charges varied, ranging from a minimum of 100 charges to 10,000 charges. In addition, most were either the "Dim" or "Fine" in quality.
Felix filtered it down, choosing his favorite alchemist "Wu Buyi". Then, he found his wares.
…
Dim Philosopher Stone (100 Charges) (346 In Stock)
- 10,000 Years of Lifespan
Fine Philosopher Stone (1,000 Charges) (10 In Stock)
- 100,000 Years of Lifespan
Sturdy Philosopher Stone (10,000 Charges) (Out of Stock)
- 1,000,000 Years of Lifespan (Pre-Order)
…
This alchemist's pricing was reasonable. However, for some reason, half of his customers gave his store a one-star review even though the products were cheap and useful. He wondered why.
Since Felix had some cash to spend, he emptied the philosopher stones from his store and left behind a five-star review.
"Very reasonable price compared to other stores. I don't why this store gets so many one-stars, but I like his products."
Pressing the sent button, Felix smiled, hoping to encourage the store owner to resupply the products soon. After all, he would need a lot of them to upgrade and arm his future population for the upcoming scenario quests.
