Chapter 52 The Letter
The capsule's lid opened as Zayne emerged from it and headed toward the bed at a measured pace. It was 3 AM on the clock, so it was only a few hours before dawn.
"Agh, I need a good night's sleep. I wonder how many Gold Coins I could get from Feto? Exactly! I should find out how much I could sell them for!" Zayne exclaimed with excitement before collapsing on his bed.
Zayne usually slept about six hours, but now he needed a lot more time to fully replenish his strength. Even when the bright sunlight fell on his face, it didn't make him wake up, he enjoyed his sleep with a slight smile on his face.
...
Bam.
Zayne fell off the bed, which was the only thing that made him finally wake up.
"Damn... Why did this have to happen? I just thought I could get some proper rest..." Zayne muttered frustratedly as he thought it was early morning before picking up the phone, then his eyes went wide.
"1 PM!" Zayne exclaimed in a daze. He had never been up this late in his life, so today he set his record.
"Oh... Looks like I slept longer than I expected, well, I can afford to stay up another hour." Zayne muttered, put the phone aside, and headed for the kitchen.
Zayne quickly fried himself some eggs and coffee and sat down at his computer. He went to the official website of Fallen Fate Online, where anyone could exchange their Gold Coins for credits. Zayne didn't know how much he would get from Feto, but he was sure it would be several hundred.
"Well, this is a crucial moment, right?" Zayne muttered before opening the exchanger.
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom It was simple, 1 Gold Coin was equal to 1 credit. They were bought and sold by the Players, not the developers, so the number was almost infinite.
Zayne quickly did the math in his head, based on his current salary and how much he needed to live. Zayne lived in a small town where the average salary was 900 credits, for a month of work he usually got 700 credits a month.
"Hahaha! Doesn't that mean that in two days at Fallen Fate Online, I made half of what I normally have in a month? And that's only by minimum estimates!" Zayne laughed happily as he slammed his fist on the edge of the table, unable to contain his emotion.
Crackle.
Suddenly a corner broke off from the dense wooden table, flying off to the side, causing Zayne's eyes to go wide with mild fright.
"Damn, looks like I'll have to spend some money to buy a new table in the future... This one's already completely rotten." Zayne sighed.
Tar.
Just as Zayne looked at the screen again, he saw that he had received a message from Rubia.
'Hey! When you're free, check your mailbox! I don't know how to respond to this, so you better see for yourself! Bye!
"What...? What does that mean? She sent me some kind of letter...but why? Couldn't she just write me?" Zayne was puzzled as he tilted his head, "Well, I have to check it out."
In the mailbox, Zayne found four letters, and one of them was open since Rubia had sent it.
'Zayne... I wanted to meet you in the morning, but you seemed to be asleep, so I'll leave it here. These letters originally came to me because that nurse who found out who you really are told some people about it. She never keeps her mouth shut! Only I know your address, so thank me later for working as a courier for you. Bye! <3!'
Zayne still didn't understand anything, but he felt uncomfortable, as it was strange that someone was trying to find him or contact him somehow.
"Agh... Fine, let's get this over with and it's time to go back." Zayne muttered as he opened the first letter.
...
Five minutes later, Zayne was sitting in front of his computer, slowly tapping his finger on the desk. The letters he had received were an offer to interview him, if he could prove he was the true Zayne.
In any other situation, Zayne would have dismissed the letters immediately, but he hesitated because of the sums on offer.
"Hah, 5,000 for one interview... That's incredible, they're actually serious. Hmm, if I say no now I might miss my chance to be popular, wouldn't I?" Zayne muttered, looking at the letters.
With a heavy sigh, Zayne tore up all three letters and threw them in the trash before heading for the capsule.
'Celebrities spend a huge amount of time to increase their fame, however, if I spend the same amount of time on this then I won't be able to succeed in Fallen Fate Online. Without accomplishments, I will cease to be interesting, so this is a one-time action, I must play for the long haul.' Zayne pondered with a serious expression as he climbed into the capsule.
Crackle.
The capsule's lid closed as a flow of steam came out, then Zayne entered Fallen Fate Online.
...
Rubia was walking down the hallway with a stack of documents in her hands when she passed next to a window that overlooked the district where Zayne lived.
"I wonder if he's read the letters yet?" Rubia murmured thoughtfully as she touched her lips, "I don't know what's in there, but it looks like someone is interested in him because of his actions, though... Zayne is definitely not the type who wants fame, I'm sure of it."
...
For the second time in an hour Zayne woke up, but this time in another world that had already managed to surprise and frighten him.
"I have to go to Feto, but first... I have to thank Harald for helping me." Zayne said and with a slight nod headed downstairs.
Bam.
On the way, as he rounded the corner, Zayne bumped into Amelia, knocking her down.
"Ouch!" Amelia cried out more out of surprise than pain as her back touched the floor.
"I'm sorry! I didn't see you!" Zayne quickly helped Amelia up.
Amelia smiled slyly, "That's okay. You're finally awake, looks like you needed a long nap, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, something like that." Zayne nodded, "Do you know where Harald is?"
"Sure, I am. I was on my way to him, but someone stopped me." Amelia chuckled, "He's busy with a client right now."
"Oh, in that case, I'll wait."
"That won't be necessary." Amelia's corners of her lips went up.
Zayne gave her a questioning look.
"Just follow me." Amelia said confidently as she stepped forward, leaving Zayne no other choice.
...
"Fine, there you go, and you were worried I wouldn't be able to do everything at once." Harald smirked as he wiped his hands with a clean towel as Zayne and Amelia entered the room, "Oh, you're just in time."
In front of Harald sat Feto, who turned around and their gazes met which made their eyes light up in a bright flame. They both had something to tell each other, especially Feto.
"Hehehe, boy, you really are the chosen one of the Fate, since we're meeting right now." Feto chuckled.
