Chapter 199 A Little Scary
Chapter 199 A Little Scary
Roland and Madison walked for almost twenty minutes before they arrived at the street going towards the Sparkling Buds.
Madison was actually pretty fit. She only sweated a little even though they walked without stopping. As for Roland, something like this could not make him sweat anymore, so it could be said that it was like just walking a few meters for him.
"I didn't know you were actually pretty fit," Madison stated, after realizing that Roland seemed not to sweat from the continuous walk at all.
"I exercise a little," Roland answered nonchalantly.
What he said was indeed the truth. Considering his current strength, his exercise could truly be considered a little to what he can normally handle.
"That's surprising. And here I thought that you are all brains with no muscles," Madison said bluntly.
Roland's mouth twitches after hearing her words. She was like a train without brakes. Words just kept on coming out of her mouth without pause. For a moment, Roland regretted accompanying her.
Anyways, the two of them walked for another five minutes before they finally saw the Sparkling Buds from afar.
"We're finally here. I'm pretty hungry already," Madison exclaimed in excitement seeing the familiar Sparkling Buds sign that went viral yesterday.
"I hope this store lives up to its hype," Madison said.
Looking ahead, there seemed to be a few people still queuing up to order.
Madison took Roland's hand and pulled him towards the array of people.
Far ahead, Roland noticed that the guard spotted him from afar. The guard was about to come forward to receive him, but Roland managed to wink at him at the last second, signaling him to ignore him.
Fortunately, the guard managed to get his signal, avoiding the matter to get complicated.
"Hey, hey no pushing!" A guy in front said after he was accidentally pushed by the one behind him.
"Don't push, there's still a lot of heaven's chicken left. We can eat, all of us can eat. Just don't push," the person behind him complained as well.
Seeing the commotion, the guard immediately came forward to bring order to the que once more.
Madison and Roland just arrived, so they went to the back of the line to fall in line.
"Is it true that they went out of stock yesterday around this time? Can we still make it?" Madison asked in worry after seeing that they were still far from the counter.
Behind her, Roland nodded his head and said, "Their supply yesterday was indeed finished around this hour. But I think they have already prepared more today, so we should be fine."
In fact, it was Stacey who ordered more supplies delivered that day.
Due to that, Estela has become very busy as she was one of the people who would prepare the flour to dredge the chicken. Fortunately, the pay was very good, so everyone was extremely spirited as they worked.
Speaking of that, Roland truly needs to set up the logistics facility as soon as possible. Tomorrow morning, he should visit that 10-hectare land and start devising his plans.
If the plan to open more branches in the future were serialized, they would need an extreme amount of ready to fry chickens all day to keep all the stores running. In order to do that, a supply and logistics facility needs to be set up in advance.
Finally, after another ten minutes of waiting, it was finally their turn to order.
The cashier's eyes lit up upon seeing Roland. She has been busy earlier that she only noticed Roland now. She began to panic, but fortunately, a soft hand touched her back, making her panic go away. She turned around and realized that it was their head manager, Stacey.
"It's alright, I got it," she said amiably, reassuring the cashier who seemed to panic upon seeing Roland upclose.
The cashier nodded her head and allowed Stacey to take over. She has been doing this since earlier. She would often sub the cashiers who were not able to take the pressure from the customers. Some of them were still not used to it, fortunately, Stacey was there to support them from behind.
"Good evening, what would you like to order?" She said, facing the two of them with a smile. At the same time, she began to observe this red-haired girl that made Roland accompany her.
Janine was already at the back, after she was 'abandoned' by Roland. She stared at Madison intently, as if to scrutinize if she was worthy.
Madison felt an unknown pressure enveloping her. Stacey was like a goddess in front of her. She did not expect that a pretty woman like her was actually acting as a cashier at this restaurant.
As a woman who was well-experienced from the upper-class, Stacey's aura was indeed a little too intimidating for someone like Madison who came from the lower-class.
Even though both of them were pretty, once upbringing would still determine the kind of 'aura' that one gives off.
However, Madison was not to be trifled either. She recovered from her stupor a moment later.
"A Set 1, please," she said, her voice gaining its confidence back.
Stacey smiled and replied, "Alright, I got it."
After Madison handed their pay, she proceeded to step aside as it was Roland's time to order.
"A set 1 as well," he said, a smile lightly appearing on his lips as he stared at the cute Stacey.
"Alright, I got it. The meal will be delivered to your tables, ma'am, sir," she stated after Roland handed her his pay as well.
"Thanks," Madison and Roland said at the same time as they searched for a vacant table.
There were a lot of customers eating, so it took them a while to spot a vacant one. The moment they sat, the waiter who served their meals also arrived almost at the same time.
"That lady is quite scary," Madison commented the moment they sat.
"Who?"
"The one who replaced the first cashier. It's as if she is going to bite me if I do not order anything," she chuckled.
"She's the manager of this place. I don't think she's scary. She looks pretty cute actually."
