Chapter 190 No Need To Prove Anything
Roland frowned a little after hearing that. He guessed that they were deliberately doing this just so he can tag along with them to the classroom.
However, since they said they were also waiting for someone, Roland could not do anything about it and just let them be. Janine should also arrive any minute from now.
"Oh right, I'm curious. Is the girl you're waiting for your 'new' girlfriend? Wait, is it even true that you and Anna were together before?" One of the women said.
There were five of them in total, two men and three women.
The three women looked at Roland expectantly, waiting for his answer.
Roland thought that there was no need to hide his past relationship with Anna. It was his mistake to give her all of his love and this was part of the consequences of his action.
"Yes, me and Anna were indeed in a relationship before," he answered flatly.
Hearing that, the three girls had an expectant expression as they asked, "So you two broke up? Why?"
Roland only smiled at them and said, "Let what you heard from the rumors become the truth. It would only complicate the matter if I said something contrary to the rumors. I know you guys would have a hard time believing my side of the story anyway."
He could have cleared his name right there and then, however, he thought that it was a waste of breath trying to explain the matter to them. Let them assume what they want. He doesn't care for it. The less obscure he was to their mind, the more favorable it was for him.
Let the past be the past. He doesn't need to speak about it just so he could deliberately ruin Anna's reputation.
As they say, if there was smoke, there would surely also be a fire. Sooner or later, the truth will come to light without him making a move to publicize it. The video of him getting rejected by Anna had already circulated in the campus anyway. Those who watched it probably had an inkling of the truth already, but were just unwilling to talk about it as Bryan was quite influential after all.
"You know what, I think we will believe you though," one of the women said as she looked at Roland deeply.
Ever since Roland showed off his Ayphone and how he bravely stood up with Kyle, most of the girls in the classroom were now seeing him in a new light.
Hearing that Roland just smiled and shook his head. Would they even say that if they didn't see his Ayphone? In the end, their treatment towards him only changed when they saw him possessing something valuable.
He only laughed at them as he said, "She's here guys, see you later."
He waved his hands and walked away from them.
Janine, who had a dark expression, was already near the school's gate.
Roland walked towards her and asked, "Why the long face?"
Even though he knew the reason why, Roland still decided to ask.
Janine sighed and answered, "Nothing, I was just approached by three creeps earlier."
"Ohh? There was such a thing? You should have called me so that I can beat them up," he joked lightly as they walked towards the gate.
Janine smiled and shook her head and said in return, "Well, that's the reason I did not call you. I know you will beat them up like pancakes."
Janine truly thought so. She knew that Roland was quite strong and athletic. She also knew that he knew some martials arts and she was confident that he would truly pummel them if he ever fought the three of them.
Her heart also fluttered knowing that the boy she liked was very capable.
A while later, the two of them separated and moved towards their own respective classroom.
On the other side, Roland's classmates looked at their departing figure with a dumbfounded look the moment they saw the girl that he was waiting for.
The three girls were especially depressed as they found her pretty cute and thought that they might truly not have a chance with Roland anymore. However, they still secretly gritted their teeth as they vowed to not lose to her. They would do everything necessary to get close to Roland.
Unfortunately for them, Roland's first impression about them was already bad from the beginning. Changing it would be pretty hard.
Roland arrived at the classroom a few minutes later. There were still ten minutes left before the class started so there were still not that many students in the class yet.
Roland entered the room and sat on his seat. A lot of eyes were drawn to him as he entered and eventually sat on the chair. If it was before, none would surely notice Roland entering the room at all.
Anna and Bryan's group of friends were still not here, but surprisingly, that girl, Amy, who was absent yesterday actually showed up today.
She was now sitting in front of Roland. Her head was dropped down to the table seat as she had a heavy expression.
Amy would usually nod to Roland almost every time he arrived on his seat. It could be said that she was one of the few people who noticed Roland before, although not in a good way.
This time, Amy did not even bother looking at his direction, as she continued to sulk on her seat.
'Is she still depressed about the matter regarding the restaurant?' Roland thought as he shook his head.
In truth, he did not feel even a little ounce of pity towards her. She deserves it for her actions back then.
The only thing that concerned him regarding this matter was the fact that the other employees lost their work due to her reckless action. He felt bad for them.
But it is what it is. Stacey was quite ruthless sometimes, and Roland actually liked this aspect of her.
If Roland knew that all of the employees of that restaurant were doing the same thing as Amy, he would surely not feel bad for them at all.
On the other hand, Amy heaves a deep sigh as she rose from her sleeping position.
With a gloomy face full of dark eyebags, she turned around to look at Roland as she said with a soft tone, "Roland, I'm sorry for what I did last time."
