Face-Slapping System

Chapter 182 This Company Is Trash Now

Roland smiled as he fired the two of them mercilessly. There was no need for such people on his properties at all. Previously, those whom he face-slapped were left off the hook due to him thinking that there was nothing he could do to fire and punish them.

However, now that he was already the boss, he could finally take the face-slapping to another level by not letting these arrogant people off the hook.

"W-what? You can't do that," Bred bellowed as he looked at Roland in bewilderment.

It was just a moment ago that he was mocking Roland for spouting nonsense about him owning the company. It was just a moment ago when he was still currying favor with the big boss, Alfred.

However, the situation had changed so quickly that he still could not process everything clearly.

When he heard Roland's decision, he finally came to realize that the one he was currying to earlier was actually just the lackey, and the one he was mocking earlier was actually the real big boss of the company.

"Why? I'm the owner, tell me the reason why I can't fire you?" Roland said amusedly.

Of course he knew about the termination fee and such. He knew that he could not just fire anyone as he pleases without prior notice, and if he did so, he would surely need to pay some money as reimbursement for the other party. However, to Roland, this was a small amount to pay just to get rid of some cancer in the company. This would benefit him in the long run after all.

He looked at them full of curiosity. This was the first time he fired an employee for acting bad after all, he wondered what they would do next.

However, just as Bred was about to say something, Ned, who had already recovered from the shock, held him back at the right moment.

Pulling Bred back by his shoulders, Ned scoffed and was seemingly unconcerned about the sudden discharge.

"Stop it. If he wants to fire us, then let him do it. In fact, we should thank him as well for this right? After all, the company is already declining beyond comparison and sooner or later, it will crumble into nothingness. Do you really think that a simple owner change can save the company? Heh, dream on," he said with a matter-of-fact voice.

The four branch managers were already more than aware of what was going on with the company. It was facing a huge crisis that forced its shareholders to sell off their shares in a short period after the incident.

From its initial value of 2,000,000 Global Dollars, the Protect Life Security Company was now only valued around 750,000 Global Dollars. From that alone, one could tell that the company was in a dire situation.

In truth, Ned actually wanted to stay and fish on troubled waters. He actually planned on buying all the shares before, but all of the available shares were bought the moment it was put up. Ned and the others assumed that the previous share owners decided to withdraw their sales, and hence, they thought that the company would still be saved.

However, now that he had confirmed that there was now a new owner, he knew full well that the company's situation was indeed that dire.

Who would stay in a declining company like this? Only idiots would do so in his opinion.

He could see that Cred and Fred were biased towards this new owner. Their big boss, which they admired the most, was also acting the same. Ned thought that there was no need to convince them to hop out of this sinking ship.

He planned to teach them a lesson on being cautious. He smiled triumphantly as he beckoned for Bred, "Let's leave this trashy place already."

Bred was still reluctant to leave at first, but seeing Ned walking forward without stopping, he finally decided to follow behind him. Their dismissal was finally put at the back of his mind; he thought that what Ned said actually made sense.

"Where should we go?" He asked as he followed behind Ned.

Ned scoffed and said, "Don't worry. Didn't the other security company offer us a managerial position? That was the reason why we wanted to resign early, right? This time, let's hop towards them without hesitation this time."

Bred nodded his head, finding his plan very logical.

As the two of them entered the elevator, Roland did not even bother looking at them at all.

Fred and Cred looked at the two of them with a bit of regret and disappointment on their face, while Alfred did not pay that much of an attention to them.

For Alfred, their departure would not cause that much of a ripple to the current declining company. In fact, it would even release some  burden for them if they left 'voluntarily'.

On the other hand, Roland thought back to Ned's words about the decline of the company as well as the crisis that it was facing. He was even more curious about it now.

However, before that, he looked at the face-slapping points that he earned from the scene earlier.

He face-slapped 3 people in total and there were a total of eight witnesses each. He earned a total of 150 Face-Slapping Points. To the previous him prior to buying the level 3 potions, he would consider this amount as just a small amount.

However, he was now back on being broke, so the 150 Face-Slapping Points was definitely a lot to him.

After inspecting the rewards, Roland turned to Fred and asked, "So? What's with the company crisis that you guys have been talking about since earlier?"

Alfred, who heard his question frowned, "Wait, Mr. Roland, are you saying that you bought all the company shares without even knowing that it was facing a huge crisis?"

Even Alfred did not believe that he would ask this kind of question one day. He came here as a result of Roland buying all the available shareholders shares in one go.

This company that was previously a corporation has suddenly become a sole proprietorship in a single night.

As the main branch manager, Alfred himself was holding 5% of the company's shares. In truth, he also considered buying some of the shares from the directors. However, he no longer had the money to buy it and even though the shares were getting sold cheaply, he could do nothing other than watch them disappear in thin air as a mysterious person bought all of them in one go.

After some investigation, he managed to learn by luck that the person who bought all the remaining 95% shares was currently at Fore City and that his name was Roland.

The reason why he flew here immediately was because he wanted to meet Roland in person and discuss the company's next move if there was any.

Earlier, he actually did not think that such a young man was actually the owner of the previous million global dollar company. However, when he confirmed his name, along with his bold claim, Alfred immediately realized that he was the real deal, hence he decided against questioning his identity.

At this time, Roland nodded his head towards Alfred, as if affirming his question.

The company was rewarded by the System. Forget about him not knowing about the crisis, he didn't even know that this company was actually owned by multiple people before.

Seeing his answer, Alfred sucked a mouthfull of air in shock and bewilderement. Of all his life, he never thought that he would encounter someone like Roland who would casually buy a company without even investigating the company's situation at all.

This was a first for him, even though he already encountered a lot of people in Bridge City before.

In the end, Alfred could only smile wryly. Of all the people as well, someone who could casually buy a company like it was a lollipop was not someone who could bring the company to greater heights at all.

After all, the mindset of this kind of people was, 'Who cares if this business fails, I can just create another one because I have a lot of money.'

Just like that, Alfred's previous enthusiasm was cut into half just from that simple conversation.

When he traveled here, he was actually hoping that the new owner would be someone very ambitious and cautious. He was hoping for them to solve the company's dire situation and carry the company to a greater height again.

However, it looks like even that was too much to ask. With his previous vigor getting crushed down, Alfred said with a hopeless tone, "I see. Let me explain it in detail to you then, the company's current crisis, I mean."

Although they already heard it before, Cred and Fred's ears still perked up the moment he said that he would explain the events in detail.

Gonzalo and Benjamin who was still clueless about the situation aside from the unreliable news they received from enreliable sources, also decided to perk their ears to listen to Alfred.

Roland nodded his head as he prepared to listen to his explanation. However, before Alfred could do so, Fred suddenly interrupted the two of them.
