Chapter 5: Extra VS Protagonist
Chapter 5: Extra VS Protagonist
My body was surrounded by a dark red aura, and I could feel power surging through me.
All I wanted was to crush this stupid blonde guy under my feet.
It doesn't matter if you're the protagonist or some invincible demi-god, i'm still gonna try to bring you down.
I rushed towards him and swung my fist at his face, my fist was enveloped in the same aura that was coming out of my body
"Tch, a brawler huh? Fine."
But as he dodged my punch, a red energy appeared in his right hand, and a legendary sword made of incredibly rare materials revealed itself inside of it.
Weird, this was an artefact that the protagonist didn't reveal until the next arc agaisn't some villain, why would he use it on me?
"You're not the only one with a hidden power" the protagonist spoke, before swinging his blade at my stomach and kicking me out of his range.
I got knocked out by a few meters and touched the part he aimed at, there was now a scar with blood flowing out of it.
"You're so annoying" I looked at him dead in the eyes while ignoring the injury, it didn't hurt me at all for some reason anyways.
"How dare you look at me like that, I can't believe i'm fighting someone so pathetic."
I charged towards him once again, and he raised his blade up in the air, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
But then he slashed, aiming at my head and...
"Huh?"
My body was faster then him, I didn't have time to dodge the blade but the momentum was enough for me to grab it with my bare hands, they were surrounded by that red aura too.
"That's not possible!" Daemon looked shocked.
Taking this opportunity in hand, I pushed his arm out of the way and swung my fist at his chin, essentially propulsing him by a few meters in the air.
As I looked up at the sky to see where he was heading, I finally saw it: the skill window.
[Skill: Hatred]
[Your anger shall be the only strenght you need, mark fear onto the face of your enemies and show them that there is no escape from your fury.]
[Everytime you reach 100 on the anger meter, you will be able to temporarily activate this skill.]
[Anger meter: 100/100]
"I get it now" I murmured.
But there was no time to think as the blonde protagonist was already charging another one of his fireballs at me.
He wasn't even using his full strenght and yet it looked immensely deadly, his power was already tremendous while we were only at the beginning of the novel.
"Bye bye kid" he said while launching the fireball in my direction.
And... I don't know what came over me at this moment, and I don't if it's because I was so angry that I couldn't think straight.
But I rushed in the direction of the fireball, fully believing I could tank it.
And as I came in contact with the magic, I turned my head to the public and saw the face of Mina, who looked extremely worried.
"No way, is this kid crazy?"
"He is dead~"
Some of them said as the fireball upon contact with my body filled with hatred magic created a huge smokescreen blocking the view of everybody.
"This is why you shouldn't mess with me bahahaha!" Daemon was already talking to the crowd and boasting about his new victory.
And I could only be thankful to him for that.
I knew he was full of himself in the novel too, he never backed down but he showed extreme reckleness in many situations that were only resolved because of his abnormal strenght.
So I guess this is why he didn't expect his magic to fail.
And even less to see me come out of the smoke and head towards him at full speed.
"YOU SHITTY BASTARD!" I roared, leaving red flames on my path as I shortened the distance between me and the main character.
I swung my fist and hit him directly in the face as he looked in my direction to see what was happening, the impact was so strong that the arena itself shook.
But Daemon didn't move an inch, he took the hit and didn't flinch.
His endurance was incredible, but it didn't mean he didn't get hurt.
After all, when I removed my fist from his face, I could see blood gouging out of his nose and mouth.
"You fucking little shit, how did you do this?" the protagonist asked while gasping.
"Like I'm gonna tell you, asshole" I taunted him.
He swung at my already scared stomach with a movement so speedy I couldn't detect it and launched me into one of the arena walls.
"Ugh"
But the pain didn't stop me from moving, and even less from wanting to fight.
As soon as I landed, I got back on my feet and thought about my future actions.
I closed my eyes and remembered about why I was infront of such an impossible opponent.
"Entertain me Kaine"
Reminiscing these words angered me more then anything.
"I'M NOT A FUCKING PUPPET FOR YOUR GAMES" I screamed as I felt the aura around me increase.
But along with this newfound power came something else.
[Power surcharge, cannot use this much power at current level, deactivating skill in ten seconds.]
"Fuck... I gotta finish this quickly" I thought.
Concentrating every single one of the remaining power in this final attack, I blitzed towards Daemon.
On the otherhand, he had his sword held with both hands, and he enveloped it in his fire magic, making it two times more deadly then it already was.
He swung at full speed when I was close enough, but...
"I can see his movements and where the sword will go... wow..."
Using this information, I dodged his attack and punched him in the guts with all my power, essentially leading him to kneel on the floor and drop his weapon.
He was looking at me with a smirk while spitting out a lot of blood, it was the expression he gave to all the strong opponents he fought, the only people Daemon respected were strong people after all.
"Bye bye" I told him before powering up my final punch.
And then I swung, with the intention to end the battle.
But...
[Power surcharge, skill deactivated, system user will pass out from exhaustion.]
Just before I could reach his face, my body stopped moving.
And then I collapsed onto the ground.
The only things I could hear before blacking out were the words announcing my defeat.
"Number 1783 is unconscious, thus eliminated! The victor is number 1!"
Even when I tried my best, it wasn't enough...
