“So we saw a hand, was it a ghost?” Orchidcore regained his wits and asked.

“Doesn’t look like a ghost hand nor did it have evil energy. It looked more like a righteous dao power.” Monk Zhu said.

The tornado certainly looked like something fiendish and malevolent. The same couldn’t be said about the hand.

“It’s a person.” Mu Hu said decisively.

“A person?” The group exchanged glances before staring at Li Xian.

“How would I know? I am the only one left in the clan, barely holding on with cultivation.” Li Xian smiled wryly.

“That’s true.” The four believed him due to his shallow cultivation. He was only as strong as a beginner in a minor sect so if his clan still had a powerful member left, he wouldn’t be in this situation.

“Doesn’t want provocation, there’s something secretive going on.” Black Witch Monarch lamented.

“What secret can there be here?” Li Xian said immediately because this could turn his clan into a boat stuck in a storm.

“Ask the ghost, not me.” The monarch said: “What is it trying to hide?”

“If it’s not supernatural, there’s an underlying reason.” Orchidcore added.

“Fellow Daoists, I appreciate what you all have done thus far, just don’t bring more big shots here or it’ll be the end of my tiny residence?” Li Xian bowed and told the group.

They exchanged glances and understood why he sought a peaceful ending to this mystery.

“This ghost is far stronger and can kill us in the blink of an eye. I’m afraid this is it.” Orchidcore said.

“I don’t know if desolate gods and emperors are useful here either. It has to be primal ancestors or heaven slayers.” Monk Zhu shook his head.

Li Xian was shocked to hear this possibility. Primal ancestors and heaven slayers were the strongest cultivators in Old World. His legs trembled with fear due to their destructive potential.

“It’s alright, this has been going on for several years but I’m still alive and kicking. A primal ancestor could very well change that.” Li Xian bowed again.

The group didn’t laugh at the funny statement since there was truth to this.

“We are just too weak to help you.” Orchidcore sighed.

“How humiliating, returning to the academy with a loss.” Princess Chen said.

Unfortunately, no one came up with a good plan.

“Hah, I know where this ghost is hiding.” Black Witch Monarch who has been snacking with Li Qiye remarked.

“You know where it is?” All eyes were on him next.

“Yes, I couldn’t force it to reveal itself but managed to find out its location.” The monarch patted his hands after eating.

“How?” Princess Chen was curious.

“That hand earlier was the real body so as I was escaping, I left a little toy with the hand. As long as it is returning to its lair, I’ll be able to find it.” The monarch laughed: “From what I can tell, it’s back.”

“You have the position.” The group exchanged glances.

“Now the question is, do you all have the courage to go there?” The monarch smiled.

No one responded recklessly.

“Give its power, this will be a reckless trip. There might be more powerful ghosts there too.” Li Xian said.

“We are calling them ghosts but they are just ominous creatures or some things.” Orchidcore said.

“Either way, we are outmatched.” Monk Zhu said.

“What can we do when it might be at the primal level?” Princess Chen added.

“That’s the confusing part, why would a primal-level existence cause trouble here?” Orchidcore said.

“Perhaps there is a peerless immortal item hiding in this lair.” The monarch built up the atmosphere by lowering his voice to a hush.

“An immortal item?” The group became emotional.

“Are you sure?” Li Xian asked.

“You tell me.” The monarch said.

“Well...” Li Xian couldn’t be sure because his clan truly had unbeatable weapons before. Alas, they were lost with time.

“We know of five or so.” The princess said.

“Which ones?” Li Xian asked.
