Don't Heal the Others

Chapter 194 Bleak

Chapter 194 Bleak

“Let’s go. Everyone, please be careful. Everyone only has one chance. If you die, you will lose your qualification.”

The five big teams split into five different directions and started entering the island, including Xiao Feng.

Si Yejing sent a message to him, saying that she wanted to stick with him. A strong partnership with a highly-respectful name... actually, she just wanted to make use of his buffs.

However, she was rejected. She also wanted to stick with the Midsummer Guild and she had to give it up.

After a few well-known big guild players—like the Sword of Dynasty and Little Fox of War Spirit Sky—told Xiao Feng to be careful, he also started to act.

Xiao Feng chose to move toward the middle, the center of the island. His target was the Bonus Area. He planned to take a look at the exchange conditions and after having some mental preparation, it would not be too late for him to go gather some treasure points.

In other words, he was in no rush to acquire treasure points at all. It would be much more efficient to let other players accumulate the points and then kill them, rather than finding Treasure Box Monsters. The points he could get would be much higher.

That plan of his was called ‘raising pigs’. He must first feed the pigs and then go slaughter them.

That method required very strong capabilities. If he ended up being killed instead of killing others, then it would turn into a big joke. Not only would he fail to steal the chicken, he would even lose some of his rice.

Bronze Treasure Box Monster

Level: 20

Type: Ordinary

Attribute: Special

Health Points: 1000/1000

ATN: 100-100

DNF: 100-100

MGD: 100-100

Special: Drops 10 treasure points after being killed

Treasure Island was very big. After heading deep into the island, within just two minutes, the thousands of Huaxia District players were all scattered. Xiao Feng could not see anyone else. At the same time, the first Treasure Box Monster appeared in his sight.

“Ka ka!”

It looked like a bronze box more than a meter tall, but with two rows of sharp teeth. After Xiao Feng got nearer, it started hopping immediately, chasing after him while making ‘ka ka’ sounds with its teeth. The biting sounds were crisp and terrifying.

“Such a high ATN and DNF?”

Xiao Feng looked at the Treasure Box Monster that was coming after him, like a mad dog with its big jaws wide-opened and sharp teeth in plain sight. He screeched in surprise.

The ordinary monster’s Scouting was at level 20. Its Health Point level was still considered normal, like an ordinary level-20 creep, but its ATN and DNF levels were way too high!

Its ATN level was almost twice of a normal monster while its DNF level was thrice the amount. That was not a small number. Needless to say, it would be hard to kill and the player might even face the danger of being killed instead.

Luckily, although the Treasure Box Monster’s attributes were scarier, it did not have any Skills. On top of that, the players in that event were all top-notch players across the server. Hence, the Treasure Box Monster was just a scary-looking easy obstacle. At most it would just take a bit more time to kill it.

“Life Blessing! Weapon Blessing! Courage Blessing! Protective Blessing!”

“Ding! You have received Life Blessing Skill from player ‘Dad’. Your HP has been boosted by 320 points for 60 seconds!”

“Ding! You have received Weapon Blessing Skill from player ‘Dad’. Your ATN has been boosted by 410 points for 60 seconds!”

“Ding! You have received Courage Blessing Skill from player ‘Dad’. Your INT has been boosted by 346 points for 60 seconds!”

“Ding! You have received Protective Blessing Skill from player ‘Dad’. Your DNF has been boosted by 60 points for 60 seconds! Your MGD has been boosted by 56 points for 60 seconds!”

Everything that happened on the island was unknown, including the potential danger ahead. Xiao Feng did not dare to act rashly. He directly added all the Buffs for himself and then headed towards that bronze Treasure Box Monster.

“-470!”

He struck the monster with the therapeutic scepter yet he did not even deplete half of its blood. Knowing that it was just an ordinary level-20 creep, he could not help but sigh.

Xiao Feng’s ATN was going to pass the 600-point mark. After hitting the monster, the potential impact was reduced by around 100 points. That went to show how Treasure Box Monsters had a quite high defensive skill.

If it were a normal player, without the Cleric Buff, the attack would be at around 100 points. It could be imagined how frustrating it would be to break into a fight with the monster. It would be possible that the monster would still have half of its blood left even after the player’s knife was broken.

“-940!”

“Ding! You’ve killed the Bronze Treasure Box Monster and gained 10 treasure points.”

The Giant Golden Hammer evolved and Xiao Feng directly hit the monster with the Hammer of Judgment, killing it within seconds. At the same time, the treasure points also appeared in Xiao Feng’s bag. There was no XP added.

Xiao Feng nodded at how the points dropped. He felt that it was not bad; he did not have to pick up the points from the ground. Instead, they would appear in his bag directly, hence eliminating unnecessary trouble. It was very convenient.

It was a pity that the monster’s attributes were not the Undead Soul and Darkness. Otherwise, if Xiao Feng gathered a group of people to come and destroy it, the efficiency would be very high.

The Treasure Island had a very large surface area. The direction that Xiao Feng was heading towards was the beach. After passing by the beach, he arrived at a huge patch of condensed forest. Along the way, Xiao Feng met about a little more than 10 more Treasure Box Monsters. That meant that the respawning rate was quite frequent.

Other than the Bronze Treasure Box Monster that rewarded 10 points, Xiao Feng also met other types of monsters. The worse one was a Black Metal Treasure Box Monster that only rewarded 5 points, while the best ones were a Silver Treasure Box Monster that rewarded 20 points and a Gold Treasure Box Monster that rewarded 40 points.

Among them, the Gold Treasure Box Monster’s Defense turned out to be as high as 200 points. It was extremely terrifying! An ordinary player, even an expert, would not be able to beat it unless they used a priest.

That had nothing to do with skills or tactics; it was all about the weapons. The attack was not strong enough.

There was a real-time leaderboard in the sky above Treasure Island. It showed the ranking of the 10 players who had the most treasure points. It could be checked at anytime.

Xiao Feng glanced through it casually and never focused on it anymore. Only less than an hour had passed since the event had started. The ranking was still old and it was not enough to prove one’s abilities.

The current top 10 on the leaderboard came from various big districts. There was no overlapping. Half of the players chose to conceal their character names and only showed the district they were from.

The player ranked first was called Thor and was from the North American District. He already had 95 treasure points.

Xiao Feng was ranked third with 80 points. He was the only Huaxia District player on the leaderboard.

The leaderboard did not display any other information other than the district. However, Xiao Feng felt that most of the people would have already noticed his habit of concealing his character name.

Xiao Feng was also mindful of that North American District player called Thor.

Along the way, Xiao Feng killed all the Treasure Box Monsters he saw. Having such strong attacks, his efficiency was definitely not low. However, he was still lagging behind Thor by 15 treasure points. That should not be the case.

Hence, Xiao Feng guessed that Thor must have killed players and snatched their treasure points. Otherwise he could not possibly gather treasure points more efficiently than him.

Xiao Feng continued heading towards the center of the island while opening the communication post that Lao Xu had previously created every now and then.

So far, there were only a few replies. It seemed like no accidents had happened yet. That meant that the North American District player, Thor, did not kill Huaxia District players.

However, in the latest reply, a small team bumped into players from other districts.

The event had already progressed for an hour. It was normal to run into such a situation.

“This is weird.”

One of the big teams led by the Wolves bumped into players from other districts and replied in the communication post.

“We met players from the Southeast Asian District but there weren’t any conflicts. They outnumbered us but left peacefully.”

“What? What’s going on?”

“Be careful. Maybe they weren’t confident and are gathering some people.”

“Which direction did they head towards? Send me the coordinates! We’ll get some killing done right away!”

The one who replied this was a player from the Wolves. They were very agitated.

“Everyone please be careful. There are lesser conflicts at the start of the event, probably because the other districts are raising their pigs, and waiting for us to get enough treasure points before they come back and slaughter us,”

Lao Xu also replied. His idea was similar to Xiao Feng’s, with the difference that Xiao Feng was the one who treated the other players as his pigs.

Just when the majority of the Huaxia District players were being more careful, in another direction on the island, there was a Huaxia District team formed by 18 young and stern-looking men. Most of them concealed their identities and only showed the same guild name—Bleak.

That team was very special, all 18 of them were Swordsmen.

“This is no fun, the speed that we’re gathering points by killing these monsters is too slow.”

One of the 18 started to talk in a cold voice. He swung the single-hand sword and killed a Silver Treasure Box Monster.

“I think it’s because your attack is too weak. You’re taking too long to kill just a Silver Treasure Box Monster. You’re dilly-dallying.”

Another man hugged the single-hand sword in his embrace and chuckled as he spoke.

“I have no choice. The harm in this world needs to be supported by weapons. I only have enough to buy a level 15 blue suit. However, the Treasure Pavilion is selling silver and gold weapons. But those have to go through an auction, it’s too troublesome,”

The man who spoke before shook his head and said helplessly.

“By the way, Ximen, your level is so high, don’t you have some good weapons? Is there any extra that you can sell to me?”

He thought of something suddenly and turned towards the only one who revealed his character name, Ximen Chuixue, and asked.

“No, I lost them,”

Ximen Chuixue shook his head indifferently and replied simply.

“What the hell? What a disappointment.” The man turned speechless immediately.

“From my perspective, killing is faster. More than an hour has passed since the event started. The others should have a decent amount of treasure points already. Besides, you can also get weapons from the people you kill. I like the rules of this game world,” said a man with a cheeky look. He licked his lips.

“You can, but it’s best if you don’t kill players from your district, it will harm our reputation.” Ximen Chuixue nodded while still keeping his cold expression.

Hearing that, Shangguan Aochen the little punk left the team without saying a word and headed back.

“Shangguan little brother, where are you going?” The man who spoke first shouted at the boy.

“To kill someone.”

The little punk’s expression was equally arrogant. He spoke coldly without even looking back. At least it seemed like it.

“Wait for your Brother Chu, let’s go together.” The man chased after him.

“No, your weapons are too weak.”

However, the little punk did not stop at all and headed off directly.

“What the f*ck!”

The expression of the man who claimed to be surnamed Chu turned black instantly. Looking back, he found the rest of them staring at him with weird looks.

Seeing the surnamed Chu fella looking at them, the rest started to leave on their own, as if they were afraid that he would follow after them. That included Ximen Chuixue, who was dubbed the Blademaster.

“You guys! I’ll remember this!”

The man surnamed Chu kept his black face and snorted. He lifted his leg and walked away with his chin arrogantly stuck up high.
