Don't Heal the Others

Chapter 186 The Game Changer

Chapter 186 The Game Changer

“Do as I say.”

Xiaofeng sounded impatient, which made Si Yejing nervous. She was wondering how Xiaofeng dared to speak to her cousin in that way, because she knew how proud her cousin was.

Si Yejing was about to settle the dispute, but something even more surprising happened.

“Fine.”

She heard her proud cousin, who used to turn down everyone, submit and nod, as if she had not heard how impatient Xiaofeng was. Soon she announced it in the guild channel, and 20 groups were transferred from the east to support the south, and another 20 from the west to support the north.

The adjustment was done very soon. Seen from the highland, the men wall on the south and north sides looked much denser, but sparser on the east and west sides. Ordinary members of the guild complied without any questions, because it was Liu Qiangwei’s order. Senior managers of the guild were questioning it, because almost everyone could tell that the adjustment was a disadvantage to the defense on the east and west sides.

But Liu Qianwang did not give any explanation, because she had no idea why Xiaofeng would do that, either; however, one thing she was sure about, was that Xiaofeng would never do anything to harm the guild, because he did not actually have to show up today; he could have stayed away, because the Midsummer had no chance of defending the city, in today’s monster attack.

“Hey! The 33rd wave of monsters will be launching their attack soon! Please get ready! You will win if you can resist the attack of the monsters, and you will lose the war, if the monsters break into the hall of your encampment!”

Those senior managers and commanders who doubted Liu Qiangwei’s orders, no longer had time to question her, because the next attack was approaching.

From the four directions of the plain, the vast place was suddenly drowned in boundless monster waves. They approached the guild encampment, like an endless black tide.

That was the 32nd wave of monsters. Xiaofeng was a little late in arriving. No wonder the Midsummer couldn’t take this anymore. That was mainly because Xiaofeng attacked them at the 31st wave last time. And that was the same as the wave just now. From now on, everything would be new to the members of the Midsummer.

The level of the monsters in the 32nd wave was 26th, and there was no doubt that they would be more powerful than the last wave. The situation of the south and north were just fine, but the commanders on the east and west were sweating profusely. They kept asking what backup plan Liu Qiangwei had, because there was no way that their weak defense could resist the overwhelming monster waves.

Liu Qiangwei had no options, but to turn to Xiaofeng for help. Xiaofeng was her only hope and support right now.

“Hey, what are you going to do? The monster wave is just round the corner!”

Si Yejing asked him, anxiously. Midsummer Lily remained silent, because she was afraid that she might interrupt Xiaofeng.

“Don’t worry.”

Xiaofeng was moving at his own pace. He did not wave his therapeutic scepter until the overwhelming monster wave had almost reached the encampment.

Firstly, on the east side, the wall made up of numerous players, was about to take the strike of the monster tide. At the same time, dense rays of light appeared on the players on the east side, and the rays flashed many times. That was the light of BUFF.

Immediately, in the guild channel of the Midsummer, the anxieties and doubts of the senior managers guarding the east side disappeared, and they sounded so relieved.

“You’re brilliant, president! Now the situation on the east side is stable!”

“What is going on? What’s going on at the east side? The north is still in danger! We need help, now!”

The commander of the north was the only one that was still anxious. He watched the monster wave approaching, and became even more agitated, when he heard that the east side was stable now.

“Haha, the president sent the priest to the east side. All of us have been BUFFed!”

“Yes, I’ve got mine, too, a big one actually. With that healing amount, I can resist several monsters at the 26th level, all by myself.”

“I’ve got a big one, too. My attributes have almost doubled! With a group of priests supporting us, we’ll make it to the end of this, easily!”

All the players making up the front lines from the four directions, had their backs to the guild encampment, so they had no idea what was going on behind them. The players on the east side did not even know that they had no priest group behind their backs. They had been BUFFed by the priest, a big one. No matter how many monsters there were, they would be no more than ordinary monsters now. With the BUFF on them, they were sure that each of them would be able to kill a dozen.

Even in the battlefield, no one noticed who had added a BUFF to them. The system prompts had given them Xiaofeng’s player name as “Dad”, but nobody would notice it. The war was just round the corner, and no one would be free enough to figure out, whether they’ve been BUFFed by the same guy.

Xiaofeng’s title, the Master Healer, was almost known to all players in the server, but few players knew his real player name.

Seeing the chaotic chat information in the guild channel, Liu Qiangwei, Si Yejing, and Midsummer Lily realized it, and looked at Xiaofeng in shock.

“You! Did you add BUFFs to all of them on the east side?”

Liu Qiangwei’s beautiful face was not as calm and sophisticated as before. She looked surprised, and looked at Xiaofeng in a shocked way.

“How did you do that? There were more than 100,000 players!”

Si Yejing was just as shocked. She looked at Xiaofeng, speechless. Midsummer Lily was nearly dumbfounded.

Xiaofeng did not explain, and ignored their astonishment. 27 seconds later, after his cooldown was due, he BUFFed all the players on the north side, before the monster wave ran into them.

Immediately, the commanders on the north side eased up completely. They praised the president in the guild channel, for being so wise.

The encampment hall’s height was limited, so Xiaofeng could not see all of the entire battlefield. He could see the players in one direction at best, or he would have supported the players on the south and north sides.

When he was adding the BUFF, he deliberately took off a few of his equipment, in case his horrifying healing amount exposed his real identity.

“Lily, you go and direct the priest group, and support the south and north sides, respectively.”

Liu Qiangwei said to Midsummer Lily. The priest group had been waiting inside the encampment as the backup force, but judging from the situation, they would not be needed now.

Xiaofeng’s horrifying performance totally changed Liu Qiangwei’s view towards him, again. When Midsummer Lily was leaving the stage, she looked at Xiaofeng with eyes full of shock, as if that was the first time they met.

“Jing, you go and lead the assassinator group, and get ready to clean up the battlefield.” Liu Qiangwei said to Si Yejing.

“OK, on my way.” Si Yejing stared at Xiaofeng for a while, and left.

The Assassin Group also stayed inside the encampment as one of the last defensive lines to defend, and as the emergency support, because assassinators were basically useless in large-scale wars. Should there be monsters attacking the encampment, they would be swallowed by the waves, as soon as they were involved.

However, they were really helpful, when it came to cleaning up the battlefield. The huge monster waves brought a huge amount of experience points, and left countless equipment, after their retreat.

When the monsters attacked the city, the experience points would be shared by all guild members. That was why the guild members had no fear of death at all. They might lose some experience points after dying, but they could also make up for them, by fighting and slaying monsters. If they were powerful enough and could kill enough monsters, the experience points gained from one monster wave, would definitely be more than those points lost after dying.

Only the equipment durability loss was real. In a huge and chaotic battlefield like this one, there was no chance that the equipment could be found, after you dropped them. After the monster wave retreated, numerous equipment would be left, but no defending players could pick it up. That was the rule of the guild.

Directing 100,000 guild members was hard enough. The formation had to be kept once it had been formed. If everybody fell out to pick up equipment, the whole front would be in a mess. Without any monster attack, the defense would fall apart by itself.

So even though the ground was covered with glittering coins and equipment, after the monster waves retreated, the players from the four directions could only drool and watch. They could not take any of these, except for those that rolled to them. They could only stand and watch ruefully, as the equipment was refreshed by the system.

In that case, the assassins who could move the fastest, became the best choice to clean the battlefield. They were able to pick up the fine equipment at the fastest speed, and brought it back to replenish the guild warehouse.

Liu Qiangwei was no longer worried about the equipment supply issue, after she made the trade agreement with Qian Duoduo. With the millions of equipment the Treasure Pavilion had now, no matter how much equipment the players from the Midsummer lost during the war, they could always get it replaced immediately, after the war ended.

In any case, it was always nice if some of the loss could be made up. The assassin group was idle, anyway. Si Yejing was wise, she split the group into two; one to the east and one to the west. It had not taken her much consideration to know that the two sides with fewer players killed the monsters most efficiently under Xiaofeng’s BUFF. She had experienced Xiaofeng’s BUFF personally.

“You... can you join Midsummer?”

In fact, Liu Qiangwei had intentionally asked Si Yejing and Midsummer Lily to leave. Now there was only Xiaofeng and her in the encampment hall, so she asked in a low voice.

“Not interested.”

Xiaofeng answered without turning back, and without any hesitation.

“You...you can state your requirements, no matter how unreasonable they are, I’ll accept it.”

Liu Qiangwei’s graceful body moved two steps toward Xiaofeng. She was biting her pink lips slightly, and her beautiful face blushed. Her eyes avoided his, because she dared not look at Xiaofeng.

“Well? Are you saying you won’t accept my requirements if I make them now?” Xiaofeng turned back and checked Liu Qiangwei out, with some curiosity.

“No, it’s not like that.” Liu Qiangwei’s body trembled, as she explained hastily.

“Then what’s the point?”

Xiaofeng turned away and continued to observe the situation on all four sides of the battlefield. Obviously, he had no interest in Liu Qiangwei’s offer at all.

Liu Weiwei sighed quietly and fell silent. She looked at Xiaofeng’s back, with her charming but blank eyes.

The more she knew about Xiaofeng’s strength, the more reliant she was on him. It was a great pity that Xiaofeng could not be moved, according to her will. She actually doubted her charm because of that. Her appearance worked everytime she confronted a man, but that failed badly this time, when she met Xiaofeng.
