Debuff Master

Chapter 632

Chapter 632

Was it possible for a human to use a dragon’s Dragon Speech magic? This was nothing short of revolutionary, as most magician-type classes had two distinct weaknesses.

The first was time, and the second was their body.

Most magicians on the continent were beginning to overcome their second weakness, which was their body. Some of these magicians could use skills such as Haste or Teleport to evade danger, while others could use body-strengthening spells to enhance their physical capabilities.

However, no magician had ever found a solution to their first weakness, which was time.

The best they could come up with was to save as many spells as they could every morning with the Memorize spell and use them when needed before refilling them again.

To use a powerful spell, a magician had to channel it first before casting it. The channeling time varied from magician to magician, and it all depended on their talents, but spamming powerful spells with just a few words uttered was something unheard of and was even considered impossible.

If there was any magician capable of doing something like this, then they would have solved the first and main weakness of all magicians, which was time.

“Is that even possible? How can a human use Dragon Speech...?” Siegfried asked, sounding surprised.

“It is impossible for a human.”

Eh?”

“A dragon’s magic is not something that can be cast through satisfying special requirements.”

“Then...?”

“The secret behind a dragon’s magic is how good this is,” Deus said, tapping his head twice with one finger. Then, he explained, “A highly developed brain is what would allow the caster to cast a spell with just a single word.”

Heok?”

“Is a dragon a dragon for nothing? They might be foolish, but their minds are far superior compared to a human’s.”

“Then that means...”

“His mind was far more capable than humans to continuously cast magic, which was why he could use Dragon Speech.”

“Do you mean that Sieghart possesses a far superior mind compared to other humans, master?”

Pfft! Do you think that’s possible?” Deus scoffed and asked. Then, he said, “I thought he was someone amazing at first, but that’s not the case now that I look back at it.”

Eh?”

“His third eye.”

“...!”

“That guy, Sieghart, had put some sort of magic eyeball in his forehead just so he could use Dragon Speech. That’s the secret behind his ability to use the dragon’s magic... If I use a term you Adventurers use, then... Is it something like an external hard drive?”

Ah!” Siegfried exclaimed after finally understanding the secret behind using the dragon’s unique skill, Dragon Speech.

“It seems Sieghart’s descendant you met this time is using the soul fragment’s magical powers to use Dragon Speech.”

“Yes, I believe so too, Master.”

Keke! That’s why it’s troublesome for you.”

“But there is something I am curious about, Master.”

“What is it?”

“Is it really possible to create something out of nothing? The way he brought the dead to life was just—”

“My disciple.”

“Yes, Master?”

“Do you really think that’s possible?”

“That is...”

“What Sieghart’s descendant is doing goes against not only the laws of this world but the laws of the universe.”

“Then you mean...” Siegfried muttered.

Was it possible for someone like Count Arial to go against the laws of the world?

The answer was simple.

“Thank you for your teachings once again, master,” Siegfried said, bowing low to the ground.

Keke! I’m glad you got what I’m trying to tell you.”

“Your beloved disciple will now go and beat the living crap out of Sieghart’s descendant, Master.”

“Good! I’ll be waiting for your delightful news!” Deus said with a grin, elated at the thought of his one and only disciple, Siegfried, beating the living daylights out of the Descendant of Great Sage Sieghart.

The Proatine Forces surrounded the Capucines Territory in no time.

“Alright! It’s time to get to work, boys!” Seung-Gu exclaimed and hopped onboard the Golem King, Reventon.

He led the Iron Golems and constructed fortifications around the encirclement they formed around the Capucines Territory.

These fortifications were armed with the latest cannons developed by the Proatine Kingdom.

On top of that, the official labor force of the Proatine Kingdom, the Northern Barbarians, had erected all sorts of obstacles and traps in front of the fortifications to further rampart the encirclement.

They were set on not letting a single person escape the Capucines Territory, just as Siegfried had ordered.

Meanwhile, the most powerful magician in all of the Proatine Kingdom, the Great Wizard, Duke Decimato, cast a powerful anti-warp and anti-teleport magic above the Capucines Territory.

This was one of the preventative measures Siegfried had come up with to stop Count Arial from escaping with his mass teleport spell. It went without saying that all of the warp gates connected to the Capucines Territory were blocked as well.

This was a total encirclement where not even a single ant could escape.

While all of this was ongoing, each religious denomination on the continent had received an official letter from the Proatine Kingdom; they were preparing to mobilize their armies for the upcoming holy war.

Each head of the churches knew just how absurd bringing someone back from the dead was, and they would not believe such a thing was happening unless they were imbeciles.

Unfortunately, not everything went as smoothly as Siegfried wanted it to.

There was a saying that word traveled faster than the fastest horse alive.

News of Count Arial becoming God and bringing the dead back to life spread throughout the Espadrille Province like wildfire.

“Move!”

“Get out of my way!”

“Open the way, ye bastards!”

“Why are you blocking our path?!”

“Don’t stop me! I want to be one of God’s chosen people!”

“Are you going to bring my dead husband back to life?! Can you bring him back?! Get out of my way if you can’t! Move!”

The Proatine soldiers were struggling to stop the people who flocked to the entrance of the Capucines Territory upon hearing the news.

“Anyone that makes it to the Capucines Territory will become our enemies. Don’t let even a single ant enter our encirclement. This is a royal command, and those who don’t fulfill their duties will be court-martialed.”

The soldiers did their best to prevent even a single person from getting past them, as Siegfried had explicitly commanded them to do so.

However, stopping the people from reaching the Capucines Territory was not easy. They were just as desperate to reach the city as the soldiers who were trying to stop them.

Thus, the soldiers had no other choice but to use their clubs to drive the crowd back.

Ack!”

“G-Go ahead! Just kill me!”

“Kill me! Try and kill me!”

Seung-Gu clicked his tongue at what he was witnessing.

Why were they acting as if the soldiers wanted to beat them to death? The people inside Capucines Territory would become Count Arial’s soldiers, which eventually meant that they would die in the upcoming holy war.

“We’re doing this for all of you...” Seung-Gu grumbled.

It was then.

Flash!

A blinding light flashed in the air.

Eh?” Seung-Gu muttered and doubted his eyes.

The thousands of people scuffling with the soldiers suddenly vanished into thin air.

“W-What the hell?! Where did they go?!” Seung-Gu cried out, dumbfounded at what happened right before his eyes.

Then, he rushed to a signalman to report what happened to Siegfried.

***

“Well, I guess it could happen,” Siegfried replied, seemingly unbothered by it.

Eh? It could happen? But I thought we set up anti-teleport spells around the...

“That’s only to make it impossible to teleport out of it. It is still possible to teleport people into the city.”

— I-Is that how it works?

“It’s possible. Duke Decimato told me that.”

— Oh?

“He said that the bastard, Arial, is using some advanced magic, so it would be difficult to prevent him from teleporting people into the city. With the soul fragment’s powers on top of that, it's definitely possible for him to teleport people into the city from the outside.”

— I see...

“But they can’t come out unless they walk out with their own two feet, so that’s a silver lining, I guess?”

— Yes, I think so too, hyung-nim.

“But you have to do your best to reduce the number of people going into the city. That’s what’s important right now.”

— I understand, hyung-nim.

“Our situation isn’t that bad yet. Millions would have gathered by now if the rumors had already spread all over the continent, but that hasn't happened yet.” Siegfried grinned after saying that. ‘What a fool. You shouldn’t have been so impatient.’

He was certain that Count Arial was drunk on the soul fragment’s powers that he acted rashly and arrogantly.

First of all, he ought to have gone to the Capucines Territory. He ought to have gone somewhere far away in some remote part of the continent, away from the major kingdoms, to slowly create a foundation for himself.

Of course, the Guardians would easily find him with Eye of Behemoth if he were to use his powers to build his foundation, but he would still get the time he needed to build that foundation before clashing against the major powers.

Without a doubt, Count Arial was not only arrogant but was impatient as well.

“Keep up the good work, Seung-Gu.”

— Thank you! Hyung-nim!

“Hmm...” Siegfried fell into a dilemma after ending the call with Seung-Gu. He did obtain the information that Count Arial could use Dragon Speech due to being the descendant of Great Sage Sieghart, but the bigger problem was the soul fragment.

He had no idea what kind of power was within the soul fragment, but he was certain that the soul fragment within Count Arial was far stronger than the other soul fragments Siegfried had faced thus far.

This soul fragment had to be far more complex and stronger.

“It'd be great if I know what kind of power it has...” Siegfried grumbled with a grimace.

It was then.

“Your Majesty! I bring good news!” Michele rushed in and reported.

“Good news? What kind of good news is it?”

“We have found Count Arial’s kin!”

“Really? Who is it?”

This good news brought by Michele was welcomed by Siegfried, as finding Count Arial’s kin was very important to his plan.

“Count Arial has a daughter, and she was training at the Magic Tower.”

“Oh? So what happened?”

“Our intelligence department has reported that Count Arial has placed a request with the Mercenary Guild to bring his daughter safely to the Capucines Territory.”

“So? That’s it?”

“No, we have also found out that the mercenaries are approaching the Espadrille Province along with Count Arial’s daughter.”

“I’ll go at once,” Siegfried said, jumping up from his seat.

“Your Majesty.”

“Yeah?”

“You do not have to go there.”

“Why not?”

“Because the mercenary tasked with escorting Count Arial’s daughter is...” Michele trailed off and revealed a sinister grin.

***

“The tyrant wishes to seek salvation from God.”

On that same evening, Count Arial was informed that Siegfried was calling them.

“Make sure you keep an eye on things while I go speak with him,” Count Arial instructed and left for the communications room.

“Yes, my god.”

— Hi!

Siegfried smiled brightly and waved his hand at Count Arial.

“What... are you doing right now?” Cont Arial asked. Then, he grimaced and said, “Have you gone mad? I don’t think we are close enough to greet each other in such a manner.”

— Who knows?

“...?”

— Alright, before we get straight to the point...

Siegfried trailed off, pulling someone toward him.

“...!”

Count Arial flinched and froze up, and the reason was that...

Eup! Mmpf! Mmpf!

The young girl whom Siegfried had pulled toward him was none other than his beloved daughter.
