Chapter 255: Day Two: The Morning Report

> A Fairy Tale Come to Life: Ambryan and Evangeline

```
Just when we thought nothing can believe more in love, Ambryan Hathaway and Evangeline Reed had exceeded our expectations. The couple had been reportedly spotted at Zehell Castle. This old estate had been refurbished as a hotel by its owner... and it seems like the restoration process is over!
Ambeevan (as fans decided to call them) brings us into the establishment with eyes full of wonder and awe. Photos appeared on the hotel's website, advertising its open appointments for party events. The couple dancing under lit chandeliers is a sight too dazzling to behold. Whoever came up with this marketing strategy knew what they were doing!
And where did the pair head after that?
Who knows?
.
Eve gazed outside the balcony.
She leaned against the doorframe and admired the view. A white robe hugged her body. It was the only clothing in the room apart from the ballgown. She wrapped her arms around herself, the autumn air almost seemed like winter.
But the sunrise looked beautiful as always.
"You'll catch a cold."
Her brown eyes glanced over her shoulder.
A tall figure hugged her from behind. Warm arms sheltered her from the chilly atmosphere. A broad back provided a strong support. Her body relaxed, slightly leaning backwards. She could get used to this.
"Well, not anymore," Eve joked.
Ambryan laid his head on top of her shoulder, setting half of his weight onto her. He wore a robe similar to hers. His nose almost tickling her neck, he kept his eyes closed. She could feel his chest against her back as it rose and fell.
"Why are you up early?" He mumbled.
A chuckle escaped her lips. "I'm surprised you weren't up yet."
"We stayed up quite late if I remember right."
"And whose fault was that?"
"Well, I have no regrets."
Ambryan grinned to himself. His hold around her tightened on reflex. Memories came rushing in his head. Such was human nature to keep wanting more once they had a taste. Despite the night's events, he felt like nothing could ever fully satisfy his desiresbut to feed it over and over again as if a bottomless pit.
"Such shamelessness," Eve muttered, shaking her head.
Comfortable silence enveloped the two. Ambryan rested a little more. When he found that the spot next to him was empty, his eyes immediately shot awake. Then, his sight was greeted by beautiful crimson hair that shined under the warm-colored sunset.
He stood up and walked over without a second thought.
He wanted to touch her as long as possible during this weekend.
"Have you ever been in a hot tub?" Ambryan said out of the blue.
Eve scowled at the horizon. "No?"
"There should be one in the bathroom. Or maybe another suite has it," he continued, thinking of more ways where he could possibly keep her close and touch her. "I heard it's effective at keeping someone warm."
"It would be a huge letdown to its name if it can't." She snorted.
Chuckling, he lifted his head and whispered in her ear. "So do you want to try it?"
Eve shivered from the breath in her ear. She considered the idea just to amuse him. But then, a low grumble came from her stomach. Sure enough, it should be time for the most important meal of the daywhich, for her, also meant one more thing.
"I think I want a cup of coffee," she decided. "And I think you need a cup of tea."
Turning around, she tapped his nose and clenched her hand into a fist right after. The temptation to further mess up his bed hair was growing strong. This had to be his most handsome state. And to think barely anyone has seen it apart from her.
Ambryan pressed his lips on her fingertips. "Brew it for me?"
She smiled, returning the gesture with a peck on his lips. "Just how you like it."
Jane woke up early, ecstatic for the news.
She jerked into a sitting position and snatched her laptop from the bedside table. The party had been a success except for one small incident. It was good that she mixed it up a bit. Otherwise, all her parties would look the same.
Her laptop booted in her hands while she wondered about the headlines.
'What will it be this time?' She mused in her head. 'Magnificent? Enviable? Vivacious?'
The possibilities were endless! Everyone raved about the party during the event. They had complimented her about it even after it ended. It should be all over the media by now. How could she top this next year? It was getting harder and harder to think.
But, at least, they pay off.
Jane clicked on the web browser and
She opened a new tab, logging into Twittah.
The hashtags trending were: #Ambeevan, #ZehellCastle, #RomanceIsReal, #WhereIsMySoulmate, #YourFavoriteHyung
Her heart thumped loudly in her ears. The air in her chest had gone missing. No matter how much she sucked in air, it would never fill up her lungs enough. The laptop fell from her hands. Her vision began to blur at the edges.
She stood up only to find weak legs. Her knees almost gave in under her. She forced them to move, walking around the bed and supporting herself every time she seemed to fall.
Questions flooded in her mind.
Was that what Ambryan had to do? Was that the reason he missed her party? He couldn't even spare her a day! Jane threw a hairbrush onto the floor. That night should have been hers! This day's news should have been hers! It was supposed to be the highlight of her year!
How could they keep taking things away from her?
She bowed her head and scrunched her hair in frustration. Her body trembled all over. "HowHow is this happening? That should have been me."
Jane paused, stiffening at her words. She slowly looked up. Her hands stayed in the same position as if carrying a heavy load. She had her mouth open. Flashes of her Sweet Sixteen surfaced from her Sweet Sixteena scene similar to the ones in the articles.
Up until now, Ambryan had only done something like that with her.
"That should have been me," Jane repeated.
Then, her amber eyes saw red.
She yanked the door open and marched out onto the hallway. The servants recoiled in fear from the wild look in her gaze. Her disheveled light blonde hair amplified the crazy expression. She ignored them and made her way to the staircase, her hand scraping the wall along the way.
"M-Miss" One of them attempted to tap her from behind.
"Get away from me!" Jane shrieked, shoving the servant away. The rest gasped from her actions. They stepped back and watched her lips thin into a grim line. There wasn't a trace of the young miss they knew.
Just who was this person in front of them?
"Jane!" Her father yelled from the first floor. He bounded for the steps, running up to her side. This had never happened before. She hadn't hit anyone in any of her tantrums. They had always been pure screams and wailing on her bed.
Twisting her neck, Jane faced him with indifference. "Dad."
Stuart Wilson stopped a meter away and tried to catch his breath. He hadn't exerted that much exercise in years. There could only be one reason behind her actions. "Is this about the news?"
His daughter chose not to reply.
"What were you planning to do?" He demanded, stepping closer.
Jane glared in his direction. She threw her hands in the air and howled in pure anger. "I don't know. Something! I can't sit still knowing that she is flaunting Ambryan right to my face! And I know that's what she's doing! Why else did it happen on my birthday?"
Resisting to shut his eyes, Stuart raised his hands in surrender before taking another cautious step. He should have done better. Maybe it wouldn't have come to this. He had always managed to give her what she wanted.
How could this be an exception?
How could this be the one to push her this way?
"Jane...," he spoke softly. Others might say he was incompetent as a father but this had always been the way he expressed his love for her. He knew nothing else. "That's enough. Making an impulsive decision won't make things better."
"And so?!" She wailed, hitting the wall with the side of her fist. Tears ran down her cheeks. "Nothing seems to go right anyway!"
Her knees fully cave in and thudded on the hardwood. Her arms shot out to keep her from dropping face-first onto the floor. Droplets of tears fell from her chin.
"I could forgive stealing the spotlight on my special day..." she spoke softly. Her wide eyes stared at nothing. "I could forgive anything if I had Ambryan with me. He had been who I wanted ever since. Nothing I have could match this ache in my chest. There isn't anything else. Nothing else.."
She gave in to her sobs. People said that hard work pays off that good efforts would be returned tenfold. It was those principles that helped her hope. Where did she lack? What hadn't she done yet? Just how much did it take for the one she loved to return her feelings?
Far away screams sounded in her ears.
But the longer they continued, the more she realized they were her own.
"Jane" She heard her father say. A rough hand touched her arm. "Come, dear. Let's have breakfast. We'll talk about it, okay? Let father hear all your frustrations so he could help you."
