Chapter 1498 Transformation of the Small Room, Not Weak, Not Small

Chapter 1498  Transformation of the Small Room, Not Weak, Not Small

Catching one of the demon beasts that had just emerged from its hiding spot after seeing him disappear down the stairs, Chu Yang didn't spend more than a few second before he was back underground and standing in front of the small room again. The difference compared to before being the frightened demon beast firmly secured in one of his hands not daring to move a single muscle since having been caught.

Thump~

Throwing the small demon beast on the ground in front of the small room, Chu Yang eagerly watched it in anticipation of it entering the small room-

Squeak!?

However, as it just remained frozen without moving, he decided to give it a little more 'encouragement'.

This… Interesting…

Watching as the small demon beast finally made its way into the small room by hugging one of the corners leading into the room, Chu Yang felt a sense of relief over his decision to have one of the demon beasts go ahead and help him get a better understanding of the small room before he entered it himself.

At the same time, he also realized something he had not when watching the other demon beasts already inside of the room… And that was the fact that the demon beast was moving significantly faster than when it had almost rushed into the small room by clinging to one of the walls of the small room.

Is it perhaps some kind of time dilation? No… Maybe the small room is just larger than it appears, and the slow speed is because of some kind of spatial anomaly?

Splat~!

Continuing to watch the small demon beast as he thought about this, there was a sudden change, as the small demon beast suddenly popped like a ballon for no discernable reason.

"Huh?"

Not knowing how to respond to the sudden death of the small demon beast that had seemed fine a second earlier, Chu Yang soon felt a sense of relief washing over him. Happy that he had not entered the small room recklessly, as he had now managed to confirm that it was indeed dangerous from what had just happened to the small demon beast.

Of course, this didn't mean he intended to give up on entering the small room, as he was certain a formation like that wouldn't be in place for no reason, it should be guarding something and whatever it was, Chu Yang was interested in it!

Whoosh-!

For this reason, he didn't waste any time as he left to catch the rest of the small demon beasts that might be wandering around the ancient city ruins. Soon enough, returning to the entrance of the small room with seven small demon beasts that he began forcing into the small room one by one. Observing their progress through the small room until they either met a similar fate to the first demon beast or managed to successfully reach the location of the other small demon beasts.

The entire process ended up taking a little over three hours, but in the end, it gave Chu Yang the confidence to enter the small room himself. Especially so given that all of the demon beasts had entered the small room the same way by clinging to the side of the wall, while also showing him that it was possible to leave after entering the small room by one of the demon beasts trying to escape after encountering something inside of the small room.

Feeling confident, Chu Yang slowly stepped forward while hugging the same side of the wall as the demon beasts had done earlier before crossing over the boundary separating the small room from the stairs, he had been standing on so far.

Whoosh-!

Almost immediately after stepping inside the small room, he found the scenery around him undergoing a transformation, as the pristine walls changed into a visible barrier and the simple stone floor turned into a large maze that made it impossible for him to see just how big the small room had become… And more importantly, he also found that the restriction that had only prevented him from using his domain to fly earlier had become even stronger. Not only preventing his divine sense from extending more than a few meters around him, but also directly affecting the strength of his domain.

At the moment he stepped inside the small room- or large underground maze, his strength that could be considered at the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm was lowered to a level where he was barely able to fight at the level of someone in the Fourth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, that too only because of his comprehension of the Dao of the Spear.

If not for his comprehension of the Dao of the Spear, his current strength might only be comparable to someone who had just broken through to the Domain Lord Realm…

"This… What a terrifying suppressive effect…" Feeling a bit taken aback by the strong suppression, Chu Yang could not help trying to leave the small room that had transformed into a large underground maze.

Luckily, he discovered that he was indeed able to leave the same way he had come in and the suppressive effect he felt from entering the small room similarly left as he stepped out of it.

In that sense, the small room wasn't that bad at the moment, as it only seemed to be restricting his strength and not stopping him from leaving once, he stepped inside.

Although… From how most of the demon beasts he had pushed inside the small room ended up dying in several unexplainable ways before reaching the small nest that should be located somewhere safe inside of the maze, he understood that there should be something dangerous still inside of the maze.

Unfortunately, the demon beasts had been far too weak to endure whatever it was for even a second. Popping like small balloons whenever they encountered danger inside of the maze. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"As long as I follow the general path they took, I should be able to get to the safe zone where the rest of the demon beasts live…" Muttering this to himself as he went over his current situation, Chu Yang didn't think much about the danger that the demon beasts had encountered as he began travelling along the general same path that the demon beasts who had successfully made it to the other demon beasts did.

His way of judging that he went in the right direction was rather simple, as he realized that leaving a spirit stone inside of the room would still show it after he left. Allowing him to judge the general size of the underground maze compared to outside and follow the path taken by the successful demon beasts.

In the end, because of this, he discovered that the general size of the underground maze was larger than he had first expected, being over a dozen kilometers wide and more than three dozen long. Making him think that the size of the maze itself might have changed compared to the demon beasts, as he really couldn't imagine the demon beasts travelling so much in such a short time with their low cultivation base.

At the very least, one positive was that the path he followed seemed to be correct. Even if that was just a feeling because he didn't encounter any danger along the way so far.

Speaking of danger, he did see a few demon beasts who seemed to be wandering the maze that he couldn't see from the outside.

The reason he had not decided to approach these demon beasts was rather simple, as all of the ones he had seen so far were at the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm. Far from something he could deal with in his current suppressed state.

Like this, a few days quickly flew by as Chu Yang charted his way through the maze step by step. Leaving every now and then to ensure that he was following the correct path. Not wanting to make any mistake and encounter the demon beasts he had seen wandering the maze. Especially so because he had started to notice the strength of these demon beasts increasing from the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm to the Soul Ascension Realm as he moved deeper into the maze.

However, there was one fortunate thing about the situation and that was the fact that these demon beasts also seemed to have been restricted. Preventing them from using their divine sense.

"Finally…! I made it!"

It was by the fifth day since he had stepped into the underground maze, that he finally managed to reach the safe zone where the demon beasts he had seen from the outside were located, causing him to smile excitedly before starting to examine the safe zone of the small demon beasts he had observed from the outside several times over the past five days-

ROOOAR-!

Rooar!

ROooar!

However, when he looked at these 'small' demon beasts, who should have been huddling together inside a small safe zone, realized that it wasn't the underground maze that changed when they entered it. Instead, it was them who had changed when they stepped inside the underground maze.

The small weak demon beasts had been replaced with a group of terrifying demon beasts all at the Pinnacle of the Soul Ascension Realm. Even worse, there also seemed to be some among them that had managed to reach the Dao Seed Realm hidden further inside the 'safe zone'.

Not just that, but his sudden arrival clearly caught the attention of some of these terrifying demon beasts.

"…"

I'm so dead… Aren't I…?
