Chapter 411: Chapter 19 - Might be infected
Skyy walked into the orphanage. A little girl clung to his leg instantly. "Beautiful brother, can you tell me a story?"
"Excuse her," Peng Peng pulled her close and hugged her. "She likes cute people. The little girl's small hand played with that guy's cat-like ears. "And she likes to be kind of touchy," he said with an apologetic smile.
Skyy nodded. "What is this place? Many children…" realizing that this might be a birthing facility, he paled.
"They are little angels and devils at the same time," Peng Peng placed the little girl down. "What are you here for, little Chen?"
"Came to drop this guy off." Chen pointed to Skyy. "He is kind of... not all there," he subtly pointed to his head.
Skyy frowned. "What does that mean? Are you insinuating that I'm crazy?"
"No, I'm just saying stuff for fun," Chen smirked and stepped back. "Take care of him. We'll get going."
"Wait!" Skyy ran to him and clung to his arm.
Chen coldly glanced at him. "Let go. I have work."
"I'll come with you."
"No," he removed his arm. "Stay here. Uncle Peng, take care of him," he flung him away and walked out coldly.
Skyy was left frozen in shock. He was taken to a strange place and left here. 'They... they are going to make me bear babies...' He let out a soft sob. 'I hate it...'
Chen, who was just about to take a turn, looked back to see the guy sobbing silently as if he was bullied. Frowning, he walked close. "What is it?"
The boy jumped on him, hugging him tightly. "Please... don't leave. I don't want to. I don't want to... have children..." he wailed softly.
Peng Peng, who noticed them, walked close. "Maybe he is scared of kids... You know, like your dad, Yue. He was petrified of kids for a long time. It's better to take him home. Maybe after a few visits, he would get used to them."
Chen sighed. The young man did not seem to be acting. He was actually trembling like a leaf. "Fine. Just a few days," he did not know how many times he had sighed in just a day. Handling Zara was hard, but handling this guy was harder.
He would break into tears for the simplest things. But weirdly, it did not annoy him.
The young man clutched the back of his shirt, burying his face into the nook on his shoulder. Chen held his back, making sure he did not slide down.
"Dad is going to love this~" Zara whispered with a huge grin.
"Shut it."
From the day he hit twenty, his dads have been bugging him to find a lover. Even worse is they would even try to match him up with young women and men. But he was not the least interested. Marriage and love are not in his mind for now. After a while, his parents backed away, leaving him be. Now with this guy in the addition, he was sure to get strange looks and winks.
Chen groaned loudly. "It's going to be a hard day…"
Their house was quite close to the orphanage. This new base was created solely by their fathers. They had escaped the clutches of a very powerful zombie with only fifty women and children with them.
They silently created this village with earth ability users and some plant ability users. Every single house was made with mud but they were strengthened with some metal ability users. The houses were sustainable and cool to live in. As for the appliances, they had foraged through the ruins of the city every day, collecting little by little. Solar sheets were installed, bringing them electricity.
As the population aged, their base started to collect new members.
The children who survived the huge zombie wave all grew up alongside each other. He knew every single one of them. Everyone was his brothers and sisters, so this also made it weird for him to date within his base.
"Hey Chen, who is that?"
"Wow, you brought home a wife?"
"Come on, congratulations Chen."
"Chen, I thought you'll marry me," a young man shouted in rage.
Chen sighed. "He is the new rescue."
"Where did you find him, ah? He looks clean like a little white rabbit. I want a cutie too," the men playfully joked around.
The young man who was holding him tightened his arms. Chen felt his discomfort. "Go on, guys, we'll get going," he shooed them away. "They are only joking around. Don't be tense."
Skyy whimpered. "I don't trust you."
Chen chuckled. "Okay, then don't."
He entered their house with the little panda in his arms. "Dad, we're home. I brought the troublemaker back."
"Shut it," Zara punched his arm and walked in. "Dad, this guy obstructed my hunt."
"The zombie you were hunting was running away," Chen scoffed, removing his shoes. He tried to lower the guy down, but he refused to move, clinging to him tightly. "Remove your shoes."
The boy shook his head.
"Zara, remove his shoes, please," sighing, he looked at his sister.
Zara raised a brow. "Weird... he is not wearing any shoes." He glanced at his slightly bloody foot. "Why would you run around without shoes? At least you should have used your shirt as makeshift shoes."
Frowning, Chen pulled the guy off him and placed him on the nearby cabinet.
"No!" the boy tried to jump on him again.
"Don't move," Chen glared at him and knelt down. As Zara mentioned, the boy's feet were wounded very badly. 'Why didn't I notice this? Shit... it looks bad...'
He touched little Trexa, who was still sleeping in his pocket. If she was awake, she would have healed him, but right now he did not have any way to heal it.
"Go bring the disinfecting kit. He could have been infected," he mumbled, glancing up. This guy was really troublesome.
Skyy whimpered. "Infected?"
"Hmm, with zombie virus. We have to contain him. Zara, prepare the room."
"No! I won't."
"You have to," Chen gripped his shin tightly. "I can't risk my family getting infected."
