Chapter 400: The Chaotic Monument of Will 2

Placing his hands on its surface, Zeras could feel the coldness of it. Its physicality was like jagged rock but he could feel now see, it was as smooth as a glass surface.

Immediately, he laid palms on it, the dark runes edged on its surface flared brightly to life making it appear as if cracks were spreading throughout the glass and Zeras swam backward a little trying to get a full picture of the stone monuments and the runes, and only now did he even see it more clearly.

The runes weren’t just zigzag lines etched on a glassy surface they all gathered together to form a drawing.

The drawing of a figure sitting down on the void of space cross-legged. But what surprised Zeras was the figure’s head which had the images of a hundred celestial bodies present within and outside his body.

The presence was so real it was like he was truly standing before a mediating giant, but the presence of worlds in its head made him doubt whether that was true or not.

Nonetheless, the dark light on the stone monument kept brightening up before they all suddenly concentrated on his body.

Instantly, all the runes on the figure’s body gathered on Zeras but he couldn’t feel anything, almost like someone just set the flashlight of a projection on him.

But that quickly took a turn when the golden notification panel appeared…

[The Ancient Chaotic Monument has been opened]

[Host will now use its power to begin his evolution to a true chaos devourer]

Immediately, the dark crystal on Zera’s forehead surged with a powerful light and it furiously formed another set of runes on his body that also formed another image but he couldn’t see it or to better say wasn’t given the time to as a scorching pain filled his entire being when the light was forcefully entered into his body.

“ARRRRRRGH….” Zeras screamed out in rage when he felt it. The power flooded into his entire body. A power that threatened to rave him his entire existence. It was like a full dragon entering into his mouth, and continuously ravaging within. How could his puny body contain so much powerful force?

And immediately cracks began appearing all over Zera’s skin.

His body couldn’t hold on…

“A Phoenix….” The words suddenly rang out to Zeras whose blood-red eyes snapped open in shock as he looked at the figure on the totem whose eyes were wide open and staring straight at him.

His eyes were the same as Zeras’s looking into the vast expanse of space. No limit at all…

“A Phoenix…” The words boomed out through his entire existence as cracks rapidly spread over all of Zera’s body.

“A Phoenix…” It rang out the third time and Zera’s eyes flashed with a thousand emotions and instantly he responded.

“Rebirth…” He screamed out. It was the only thing that came to mind when that word was heard. It was a symbol of rebirth and immortality.

“To set the body on flames, nine times…” The words once again rang out and this time, Zera’s hands enveloped in hundreds of cracks exploded into gore and blood and were burnt into nothing by the corrosive energy…

“ARRRRGH…”

“To set the body on flames, nine times…” the words once again boomed out to him as the sound of his second arm violently exploding to gore once again resounded in his ears and Zera’s teeth clenched tightly from the pain.

“To set the body on flames, nine times…” The words rang out for the third time, almost as if unable to hear his screams of agony. And in the next three seconds, Zeras entire body was gone with only a single object present, his head…

Now he had lost connection to everything and could already smell death rapidly approaching. And with a broken smile on his face. Zeras decided to do something he rarely does. To pray…

“May…may…I rise…from the ashes…Like a phoenix…” He said and like that, his last body disappeared leaving only three objects standing in the scenes.

A stone monument with a picture of a god-like being. The dark crystal that was always on Zera’s forehead. A body of white stood in between the two bodies. Made up of milky white energy. The face of the figure and even body proportions were completely the same as Zeras.

“Alas, you have passed the test, even in half-death…” The words boomed out from the mouth of the figure who sat down cross-legged in the monument.

“You…” The figure suddenly said turning its attention the crystal that was now floating in the water.

“Destroying you, and I’ll do the world a favor…” The being said with an emotionless gaze but suddenly a dark light manifested above the dark crystal and a tiny figure appeared sitting on it.

A dark figure with a devilish form that Zeras always took when he used the hollow domain.

“Those are some big words coming out of your forsaken mouth. He already passed your stupid test so give him what he wants…” The figure who looks like a replica of Zeras said out, his voice oozing with an eye-raising disdain.

“You never learned your lesson, even after eons and eons of wars. No matter how many times you reincarnate, you will always be destroyed…” The being in the monument said as a smirk appeared on ‘Zera’s’ face but he gave no reply.

“I’ll give him the totem just as I have been ordained. Whatever happens as a result of that, only fate can be the judge of that…”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Slaves to fate…” ‘Zera’s’ responded and instantly he disappeared back into the crystal. Immediately, the being directed his gaze away from it before turning to look at Zeras, his expression that of pity.

“A phoenix’s Rebirth. To set the body on flames nine times for a new being to be born. O Chaotic ones, Bless him with your power. Soul To Body Rebirth…” And immediately the stone monument shattered into pieces, becoming a small dark crystal that rushed into Zera’s soul body.
