Chapter 48: 48 : Famous
Sigurd left the banquet hall, his face burning with shame and anger. He had never felt so humiliated in his life.
First, he was embarrassingly defeated by Seraphine Netherfrost, and then he was forced to hand over a large sum of gold coins even though money is just a number to him.
The humiliation and anger he experienced that night surpassed anything he had ever felt before.
As for the black sword, he didn't dare to ask for it back. How could he approach a Tier 9 Forbidden Knight and request the return of his sword? Even if his father were to intervene, it would be futile.
All the guests watched as Felix extorted a significant amount of money from Sigurd. While two million gold coins may not have been a huge sum to them, they all knew that the damages caused did not warrant such a payment.
However, it was none of their concern. In fact, they seemed to enjoy watching Sigurd's humiliation.
It wasn't just him that was disliked in Bridgemoor City; the entire population harbored animosity towards him. His reputation in the city was abysmal.
Despite belonging to one of the most powerful Noble Families in Bridgemoor City, Sigurd's arrogance and penchant for bullying the weak had earned him a notorious reputation.
Bullying and killing were part of his daily routine, and he showed no mercy to those who crossed him.
The commoners despised him, and even the upper class avoided him like the plague. If he were on Earth, he would surely hold the Guinness World Record for the most hated person.
Felix couldn't contain his smile as he thought about the two million gold coins. He knew he wouldn't have been able to pull off this extortion, he didn't have the gusts to that but with the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight acting as a bodyguard at the restaurant, how can he allow this opportunity to extort some money.
With such a formidable presence, Sigurd had no choice but to comply. As for whether he had offended Sigurd, and whether he will take revenge or not,Felix wasn't the least bit concerned.
If Sigurd is thinking about seeking revenge, he better think twice, although he was arrogant but he wasn't stupid enough to offend a Tier 9 Forbidden Knight.
Having a Tier 9 Forbidden Knight in the restaurant makes it pretty risky for him or the whole Raventhorne Clan to even consider it.
These Tier 9 Forbidden Knights are so powerful that they could wipe out a whole city with just one attack - their destructive power is simply insane.
The Raventhorne Clan can't afford to mess with a Tier 9 Forbidden Knight for just two million gold coins. That's why Felix was bold enough to demand such a huge sum from Sigurd.
He even thought about extorting some from Seraphine Netherfrost, but he quickly changed his mind. Her background is way different from Sigurd's.
The Raventhorne Clan may be small in Bridgemoor City, but the Netherfrost Clan is on a whole other level, with power and influence all over the Kingdom.
Felix knows that the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight is just temporary protection from the system and will be gone in a month.
If he tried to extort money from Seraphine Netherfrost, she might pay now because of the knight, but if she found out it was all a facade later, Felix would be in big trouble.
Even though two million gold coins may not be a lot for these Noble Families, they care more about their reputation. How could they tolerate being extorted by a Tier 1 Beginner Mage? It would be humiliating for them.
And with the strength of the Netherfrost Clan, it's likely they have a Tier 9 powerhouse of their own. Felix doesn't want to mess with someone he can't handle.
"Mr. Felix"Just as he was lost in thought, a voice interrupted him.
He looked up to see Seraphine Netherfrost standing in front of him.
" Miss Seraphine " Felix gazed at Seraphine Netherfrost.
"Mr. Felix, I didn't expect your restaurant to have such a background," she said with a smile, her eyes flickering with interest.
Felix simply smiled in response, not saying a word.
"I'm sorry about all the damages caused in your restaurant, Mr. Felix. How about I compensate you?" Seraphine offered.
"No, Miss Seraphine, you don't have to. Besides, you holding your banquet in our restaurant is compensation enough," Felix replied, shaking his head.
Seraphine Netherfrost looked at Felix and shook her head. "Mr. Felix, I also caused some of the damages in the restaurant. If you don't accept this compensation I won't feel comfortable, don't deny it."
Felix looked at her and shook his head. "Ok, Miss Seraphine, then I'll accept your generosity."
Seraphine nodded with a smile. "Ok, then tomorrow I'll send someone to bring two million gold coins to you."
Felix's lips twitched, he resisted the urge to laugh. He was thrilled at the thought of receiving four million gold coins by tomorrow.
He took a deep breath and addressed Seraphine, "Miss Seraphine, I'm also very sorry about the banquet. If you want, I can vacate the second floor for you to continue your banquet."
Seraphine shook her head. "No, Mr. Felix, no need to trouble yourself. By now, the banquet has already lost its purpose. I'm sure the others have also lost interest."
"That's true," Felix thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
"But don't worry, I'll pay you the cost of the banquet," Seraphine added.
And just like that, the banquet ended in an unexpected way. The guests left the restaurant with mixed feelings, their expressions solemn and complicated.
Sigurd Raventhorne was once again defeated by Seraphine Netherfrost, just like a few years ago. He couldn't even withstand a single attack, leaving him thoroughly humiliated.
To add insult to injury, he was also extorted for a large sum of money, doubling his humiliation.
What truly shocked everyone was that they didn't expect the recently established restaurant to have such a powerful figure overseeing it. It was truly a shocking revelation.
That very night, news of what happened at the Origin Restaurant spread among all the Noble Clans and powerful experts in Bridgemoor City.
Sigurd being defeated by Seraphine wasn't a surprise to them, but a restaurant having a powerful figure overseeing it made all the Noble Clans and powerful experts slightly cautious.
Some factions in Bridgemoor had already paid slight attention to the Origin Restaurant when it first appeared in the city, but they thought it was just a restaurant. What they didn't expect was for this restaurant to be hiding such a powerful expert.
The Origin had caught the eye of various factions in Bridgemoor City.
As time passed, three days went by. During these three days, the Origin Restaurant was in the spotlight, and the number of people coming to the restaurant had tripled.
Felix had originally thought that after what happened at the banquet, his plans and preparations had all gone to waste.
He had planned to use the banquet as an opportunity to make the restaurant famous in Bridgemoor City, but Sigurd's actions had ruined everything.
However, to Felix's surprise, not only did his plans not fail, but the number of people coming to the restaurant had significantly increased. His restaurant had now become a popular spot for the rich and powerful to dine.
Additionally, he received compensation from both Sigurd and Seraphine. He received two million gold coins from Sigurd and three million gold coins from Seraphine.
Apart from that Felix realized that, a few strange people were also coming to the rest during these three days. Felix new that these people were here to investigate the restaurant or precisely investigate the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight in the restaurant.
However, he wasn't too concerned. Even he owner the restaurant and the master of the system. It refused to tell him were that Tier 9 Forbidden Knight is, he even asked the system to allow him to see the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight but the system refused.
He was also receiving quite a lot of attention since the Origin Restaurant became the limelight of the city and since he is acting as the manager of the Origin Restaurant he was also receiving a lot of attention.
Although it goes against his current plan to remain a low profile but he can't help it,who knew that the system newbie protection was a Tier 9 Forbidden Knight.
But it was not all that bad. Felix thought about it, with the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight in the restaurant he now have a very stable and guaranteed protection for a long time.
If others with ill intention wants to harm him then they will have to think twice.
In fact with the Tier 9 Forbidden Knight nobody will dare to mess with him or the restaurant, nobody is stupid enough to offend such powerful figure while they haven't figured out what or who or how powerful the person in the Origin Restaurant is.
And only he knows that this protection is only available for a month, if he can play it safe he can use the influence of this Tier 9 Forbidden Knight to protect himself and the others for a long time as long as nobody found about it, then he is completely safe in Bridgemoor City.
Felix couldn't help smiling as the Origin continue to earn so much money.
Originally he thought that it will take a long time for the restaurant foundation to stabilize but he didn't expect it to come so soon.
Although the restaurant foundation is not that strong but at least right it is on the right track, all that is left is to increase his personal strength.
