Chapter 367 - 367 A Small Success
367 A Small Success
“So fast!” Shen Fei was shocked. He brandished the sword in his hand continuously.
Slash! Slash!
The sharp sword Qi slashed the floor, leaving shallow pits. The scene was very spectacular, but Shen Fei was not interested; he realized that all of this was meaningless.
“Huh, something’s not right. How can this sword strike be executed so easily?”
Suddenly, Shen Fei’s eyes widened. He could feel that his strength had increased.
Shen Fei quickly collected his thoughts and focused his attention. He raised his sword and slashed again. This time, the sword momentum was even more ferocious, and its strength increased by several times.
A thick lightning whipped out like a snake and struck the ground. The ground exploded, gravel flew everywhere, and dust billowed out.
“Haha, it split open! ” Shen Fei shouted excitedly. Although he had only just started wielding this sword, he had made some progress.
However, Shen Fei did not dare to continue. He was afraid that he would lose control and hurt an innocent person, so he did not try a second time.
Shen Fei pondered, ‘Since Heavenly Lightning can increase my power, I’ll try Heavenly Tribulation.’
Then, he sat cross-legged on his bed, closed his eyes, and began to adjust his condition.
About five seconds later, he opened his eyes abruptly, and his eyes shone brightly.
“Now!” Shen Fei growled.
In the next moment, a blinding bolt of lightning appeared in the air. The thunderbolt carried a destructive aura as it furiously crashed at Shen Fei.
The lightning struck his body fiercely, making a deafening sound. Shen Fei grunted, his face instantly paled, and his entire body was in extreme pain. However, the pain passed in a second.
He slowly raised his head. What greeted his eyes was a palm-sized lightning ball. Although the ball of lightning looked like the Heavenly Lightning, it was not the Heavenly Lightning.
Shen Fei suddenly understood. “As expected, the heavenly lightning is in the form of a soul, not a physical object.”
Then, Shen Fei stretched out his finger and flicked the lightning ball toward the door.
Bang! The door shattered.
Shen Fei gasped. He had thought that the thunderball would only need a little bit of power to destroy the door, but it turned out to be the contrary.
The power of the lightning ball was terrifying. Even the door could not withstand it and was forcefully blown open!
Shen Fei took a few deep breaths to calm his restless heart. Although the power of that move was very shocking, it consumed a lot of Qi. Shen Fei could not use this move for a long time.
“There’s still a chance to improve my cultivation. There’s no hurry,” he muttered to himself.
Shen Fei planned to consolidate his cultivation while studying the heavens for the next few days.
…
The next morning, Shen Fei woke up early. After washing up, he walked to the courtyard.
“Senior!” Suddenly, a timid voice entered Shen Fei’s ears.
A girl in a white dress was standing in front of his house. Shen Fei gauged her. She looked to be only sixteen or seventeen years old. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail. Her skin was snow-white and soft, and her eyes were pure like crystals. Her figure was petite yet curvy, giving her a youthful and lively beauty.
Shen Fei said in surprise, “You are…?”
“Senior, I’m Wang Shiyu, your dorm mate. We met the other day,” the girl said with a slightly red face.
“Oh!” Shen Fei suddenly remembered. “Why are you here?” Shen Fei was puzzled. He did not expect this woman to know his home address!
“S-Senior, actually… I-I want to ask you for help.” Wang Shiyu lowered her head shyly.
Shen Fei frowned and asked, “Tell me, what is it?”
“I… I want you to cultivate with me!” Wang Shiyu mustered up her courage and raised her head, she looked at Shen Fei with a burning gaze.
“Uh…” Shen Fei scratched his head and hesitated. Why did he have to accompany her for this? Shen Fei could not figure it out!
Without waiting for Shen Fei to turn her down, Wang Shiyu added, “Senior, I know you’re very powerful, but I’m in some trouble now, so I hope you can help me. If you want, you can ask for anything in return.”
When he heard this, Shen Fei understood that this girl probably thought of him as a cultivation expert.
He hesitated for a moment before finally agreeing. He could not bring himself to disappoint her.
Then, Wang Shiyu summoned her Fire Qilin. “Senior, last time I followed the method you taught me to cultivate, but it still didn’t work.” Wang Shiyu sighed.
“Hmm? Have you really tried it?” Shen Fei was surprised.
“Yes, I’ve tried many times, but it still doesn’t work.” Wang Shiyu looked troubled. She clenched her fists. “I must be too weak to comprehend it.”
“Don’t be discouraged. Take it slow. One day, you will succeed.” Shen Fei comforted her. He then said, “If you want to tame the Fire Qilin well, you naturally need to train it frequently. Familiarize yourself with what I have taught you.”
“Thank you, senior!” Wang Shiyu said happily.
After that, Shen Fei began to teach Wang Shiyu some basic beast-taming techniques and demonstrated them at the same time.
“The Fire Qilin is a fire-attributed spirit beast, so it naturally needs to control flames. Let me demonstrate first,” Shen Fei said.
He held out his right hand, and a blue-purple flame burned on his palm. This was the Foehn Wind, a Wind-and-Fire Technique.
The temperature of the Foehn Wind was very high. As soon as Shen Fei circulated his Qi, his entire right arm immediately turned red. Then, he flicked his finger, and the Foehn Wind turned into a spark that flew toward Wang Shiyu’s spirit beast.
“Fire Qilin, devour!”
Fire Kylin was a fire-attributed spirit beast and loved this kind of flame the most. The Fire Kylin opened its mouth and chomped down on the Foehn Wind, greedily absorbing it.
A moment later, the Foehn Wind was eaten up, but its stomach bulged.
“What is this?” Wang Shiyu looked at Fire Kylin dumbly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll feed it a medicinal pill later,” Shen Fei said.
“Senior, I want to cultivate martial techniques, but my aptitude is too low. There’s no way I can do it,” Wang Shiyu said dejectedly.
Shen Fei patted her shoulder and said, “Relax. There’s no need to force things like this. Everyone has their own martial style that suits them. There’s no need to envy others. Besides, the cultivation of tamed beasts can’t be achieved by blindly putting in hard work alone.”
...
“I understand, Senior.” Wang Shiyu nodded obediently.
“Now, do what I did just now,” Shen Fei said calmly.
“What? O-okay!” Wang Shiyu was slightly stunned, then she quickly repeated Shen Fei’s chant.
Shen Fei stood in place and did not move a single step. He explained patiently, allowing Wang Shiyu to gradually understand some of the tricks.
Wang Shiyu listened attentively, not daring to be distracted. Very soon, she learned the Wind-and-Fire Technique. She only had to learn to strengthen it.
“Do you remember?” Shen Fei asked.
“Yes!” Wang Shiyu said with certainty.
