Chapter 113: The Poor Black Python
Chapter 113
The three small soldiers looked at each other, pondering with their not-so-bright minds for a moment.
Finally, one of them relented: "Alright, I'll tell you the password, but you can't harm us!"
"Don't worry," said Gu Wanyin.
These were just low-ranking soldiers; if anyone needed to be killed, it would be their leader.
However, she was only here to rescue Nine-Tails and the others. She had no interest in the grudges and grievances of demons.
As for revenge, that was better left to the Demon King himself.
As it turned out, each of the three soldiers knew the password to one door.
After opening all the doors, Gu Wanyin immediately went to pick up Nine-Tails.
Nine-Tails seemed to be the most severely injured, curled up into a tiny ball. Logically, her true form shouldn't be this small.
Gu Han went to pick up Cat Er.
Cat Er was still slightly conscious. She hazily realized someone had come to rescue them, so without Gu Han saying anything, she instinctively transformed into her true form - a snow-white cat.
"Oh my!" Gu Han squealed, clutching her chest. "So adorable!"
She could barely contain her cat-loving tendencies!
But she knew they couldn't delay their mission. After indulging for just a brief moment, she quickly picked up Cat Er and carried her out.
As for the Tree Spirit, she transformed directly into a small sapling, which Gu Wanyin tucked into her pocket.
This way, they were absolutely safe.
"Happy Carp, while the demons outside haven't noticed yet, swim out through the underground river again and wait for us somewhere safe outside," Gu Wanyin said.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Happy Carp was still worried. "This is the rebel army's headquarters! The rebel leader, the Demon King's brother, is here too! I've heard his magical powers are incredibly strong, and you two are just humans..."
"Don't worry!" Gu Han patted her little head. "Even if the entire demon realm crumbles, we two won't be in any danger."
Happy Carp looked at them both with admiration before turning and running off.
Gu Wanyin, as promised earlier, gave a detailed explanation of the secrets of playing "Fight the Landlord" to the three small soldiers.
She was quite the expert at the game!
After listening, the three demons nodded seriously, their eyes filled with newfound respect for Gu Wanyin.
"Let's go then," Gu Wanyin said to Gu Han.
"Alright."
They didn't want to make things too complicated. If possible, they would have preferred to swim out through the underground river directly.
But now they had three severely injured demons with them, and taking them into the river wouldn't be very safe.
Moreover, once they left, these three soldiers would be free to move and would certainly raise the alarm. The rebel army would still try to stop them.
So, they might as well just walk out the front door openly.
As long as Nine-Tails and Cat Er were in their arms, they would be safe.
As the two of them left the prison, the demons they encountered along the way first froze in surprise, then lunged at them ferociously, only to find themselves unable to move when they got close. They could only resume movement after the girls had passed...
Some demons tried to use magic, but to no avail.
The demons were seething with frustration but could do nothing against the two of them. They could only follow behind, hoping to find a weakness.
As they walked... a long trail of demons had formed behind them.
The scene looked both eerie and comical.
Just as they were about to reach the castle's main gate, suddenly, the entire castle seemed to shake.
The demons' faces almost all showed signs of panic and fear. Several small soldiers even fell to their knees, their legs giving way.
"The leader is angry!"
"What do we do, what do we do!"
"Nine-Tails and the others are prisoners the leader specifically ordered us to guard well, and now they're about to be taken away! If the leader blames us, we'll all be in big trouble!"
"The leader won't kill us no matter what, after all, the war with the Demon King isn't over yet."
"But it's still terrifying!"
Just as Gu Han was about to say something to Gu Wanyin, suddenly, a long black thing rushed down from upstairs.
Gu Wanyin looked closely and saw that this thing was neither dragon nor snake, but from its appearance, it looked more like a giant black python!
At this moment, the giant python opened its bloody maw at the two of them, its inside as black as a bottomless pit!
"Oh my god!" Gu Han cried out, instinctively closing her eyes.
Although she knew in her heart that they weren't in danger, the visual impact was too strong. She was sure to have nightmares tonight.
All the demons thought their leader would tear these two annoying girls to pieces.
Although they inexplicably couldn't attack, in their eyes, the leader was the strongest in the demon realm, after all, he had even defeated the Demon King.
But... what happened next left every demon dumbfounded.
Because their leader also froze in place.
That majestic black giant python just stopped there, unable to move, as if it had turned into a statue!
The demons suddenly felt that this was so pitiful...
Much more pitiful than their own situation!
"Phew." Gu Han patted her chest, sighing in relief. "Wanyin, let's leave quickly. This is too scary. I'm definitely going to dream about being eaten by a snake tonight."
"Let's go," Gu Wanyin agreed.
The two of them, carrying the three severely injured demons, walked out of the rebel army's castle with swagger.
The other demons, surprisingly, all quietly breathed sighs of relief.
Because... these two had walked out right in front of their leader.
If the leader himself couldn't stop them, how could he blame the others?
After leaving the castle, they found Happy Carp hiding under a big tree.
"Nine-Tails sister, Cat Er sister, Tree Spirit sister, they... they're not..." Happy Carp's face turned pale with fright.
"They should be fine," Gu Wanyin said. "However, their injuries are indeed very serious. We need to get them back to the hotel for treatment quickly."
"Okay!"
They hurried towards the passage. Before they had gone far, a dark purple mist suddenly appeared before them.
As the mist gradually dispersed, the demon that appeared turned out to be Cong Ying.
"Lord Cong Ying! Why did you come here?" Happy Carp asked happily.
"The Demon King has taken the pill and is gradually recovering with the care of other demons. Moon Eagle is also recovering through cultivation. I was worried about you all, so I came to check," Cong Ying said. "Quick, get on."
As he spoke, he transformed into his true form of an eagle.
Gu Wanyin and the others quickly climbed on, and Cong Ying swiftly took to the sky. By the time the rebel demons from the castle chased out, they could only see a small black dot in the distant sky.
"Lord Cong Ying, how did you know we were here?" Happy Carp asked.
"I guessed," Cong Ying said. "I just guessed that the first place you might come to could be here, so I thought I'd try my luck. I didn't expect to actually run into you. Boss Gu, how are Nine-Tails and the others' injuries?"
