Chapter 35: Eraser
Chapter 35: Eraser
Is this Senior Aldar? I have just defeated Hunter. What is the ongoing development over there?
Fina, however, was unsuccessful in receiving a response from Rain when she contacted him. The one who told her to keep the message circuit open at all times was Rain himself. By no chance would he have overlooked doing so when it came to Rain. This would never happen unless a circumstance arose in which Rain was not in a position to make contact with her
It couldnt be!
Fina raised her head toward the direction of the hospital as if she had been played, with that notion coursing through her thoughts.
Hunter who was the assailant from yesterday has indeed been brought down. Be that as it may, aiming for Karens life was not limited to only one person. Supposed those who had been seeking an opportunity to assassinate her were using Hunter as bait to make their move
!
It was the time when Fina was about to turn back the way she had just taken, with her aching wounds still intact.
Bang.
The bricks beneath her feet shattered, accompanied by a not-so-subtle burst.
What?
No way, the trap set by Hunter is still in operation?
The likelihood of such a thing surfaced in Finas mind as she hastily retreated, only to fizzle out in the next instance.
Thats a fine reaction.
!
An unnaturally hoarse voice erupted, and from the corner of one of the surrounding houses, a figure leaped onto the roof of the church.
The unexpected emergence of the new presence caught Fina off guard, and she promptly readied her sword.
Mist. A person was taking the form of a mist
Even the outline of the figure was vague, and beyond an approximation of height, the gender of the figure was not even discernible. It was something that she had sighted in an illustrated book of advanced-class magic. It was Mist Veil, a magic superior to Nameless, which was the foundation of concealment magic.
The level of this magic was so elevated that once it was cast, a basic See-through could not uncover the individuals true identity; but, because of this, it was also among the most challenging to perfect among advanced-class magic. Only a handful of magicians were capable of utilizing this kind of magic, and Fina knew of only one person who could enter the fray at this stage.
Eraser I knew you would play a part in this.
They were an unidentified person with no information whatsoever, which was why there was no mistaking them.
To Fina, who was glaring at them as though she was about to pierce them, Eraser responded in a tone that was even somewhat compassionate.
I wont say anything bad. You should refrain from heading to the hospital.
Finas only response to these words was a single one.
I refuse!
Having said that, Fina stormed toward Eraser
Xenia Marius beheld the spectacle from atop a house in the distance.
I see thats what Kanaki is aiming for.
Xenia had always harbored doubts about Kanakis recent propensity for being overly meek.
He constantly defined himself as a small fry, but in truth, only Kanaki regarded that to be the case. Furthermore, when a major event like this unfolded, he was the one who was always reluctant to talk about it, but behind the scenes, he was invariably the one to partake in the lucrative juices. Even though she had only been acquainted with Kanaki for a little more than a year, his true nature was well understood by Xenia.
Even now, as in the previous case, Kanaki had been working surreptitiously in the background. Perhaps his target was the girl he was currently engaged in a battle with, Fina Trinity. For the most part, he has given up hope that the Princess whom Xenia and Matthias were plotting to assassinate will not be spared, and has sought to keep Fina away from the Princess, who will probably be on the move to protect her.
For certain, Xenia and company would not deliberately eliminate her, and if he taught her a method of winning against Hunter with Fina achieving fruitful outcomes with it, her stock would also rise
Kanaki is a very calculating man, isnt he?
Although it may sound flattering to describe Kanaki as calculating, from Xenias point of view, Kanaki was far too theoretical. It was as though he was calculating a mathematical equation.
Even Xenia herself would occasionally resort to schemes to ensure her survival, but Kanaki generally seemed to be thinking things theoretically in his daily activities as well.
This will definitely yield results, yet will it really be entertaining? In the end, it was precisely the occasional unforeseen turn of events that brought enjoyment to life
Ah.
A different landscape from the current one flowed into Xenias mind right then.
