Chapter 219: Appearing Like a Sky God
Almost ten days have passed.
Qin Youxuan had no idea what the outside world was like.
She faced the four cold walls every day, the mysterious reaction of Jin Lan that night kept playing in her mind.
She couldn’t understand it, and she couldn’t accept it.
Finally, she curled up on the cold metal bed, making herself as small as possible.
When she heard the sound of unlocking at the door, she didn’t even bother to lift her head.
No one would believe what she said, everyone declared her a murderer…
“You can sleep so soundly. It seems you’re not afraid of death,” Dan Hanjie walked in.
His black suit seemed to merge with his bearing, making the dingy cell his domain in an instant, dominating all four directions.
His enchanting face bore a trace of chill. He glanced at Qin Youxuan’s pale face, and his eyes flashed with surprise.
Was she injured?
“Dan Hanjie…”
Was she hallucinating?
Could she really hear Dan Hanjie’s voice in this hell of a place?
A shadow formed above her head, blocking out the bright light from the small window.
Qin Youxuan squinted her eyes, Dan Hanjie’s imposing figure gradually came into her sight.
“Pitter-patter…pitter-patter…”
Tears fell helplessly onto the bed.
Qin Youxuan lied stiff on the bed, without any movement.
Her eyes were blurred by tears, she couldn’t distinguish between reality and illusion.
She bit her lip firmly, not allowing herself to cry out loud.
“Did you hurt yourself?”
Qin Youxuan choked back her words, just shaking her head fiercely in denial.
Upon hearing Dan Hanjie’s words, her tears fell like broken pearls, cascading down uncontrollably.
Just like a lost child suddenly seeing their parents.
Qin Youxuan sobbed painfully.
“I didn’t murder… I didn’t…” But no one believed her.
“I know.” Dan Hanjie replied lightly.
“…You believe me?”
Qin Youxuan was taken aback.
Even her father and Jin Chenye didn’t believe her, without asking anything, he just believed in her?
“If it were you, you wouldn’t deny it,” he said.
And certainly wouldn’t cry like this the moment you saw him.
Dan Hanjie bent down, his finger traced her startled little face, a smirk tugged at his lips as he scooped her up from the cold metal bed, glanced at Yao, who promptly handed over his overcoat, and wrapped Qin Youxuan in it. “I’m taking you out.”
“Mr. Jie, Miss Qin is suspected of murder, she can’t be bailed out,” Yao advised.
“That’s your job.” Dan Hanjie cast a sideways glance at Yao, sending shivers down Yao’s spine; he dared not speak anymore.
Dan Hanjie drew his arms in tighter, holding the trembling figure close to him and confidently walked out of the police station, no one dared to stop him.
It wasn’t until they returned to Yujing Villa.
He carried her into the bedroom, into the bathroom, and left her in the bathtub. The whole while, Qin Youxuan didn’t react.
She just stared blankly at Dan Hanjie, who had descended from the sky, her small hands clutching tightly at his shirt, afraid the only person who believed in her would disappear if she blinked.
“With the way you’re looking at me, do you want me to bathe you?” Dan Hanjie locked eyes with her and a roguish smile played on his lips.
As he spoke, his large hands had already undressed Qin Youxuan, leaving her bare.
Her fair skin met with air, Qin Youxuan shivered but showed no other reaction.
It seemed she was truly traumatized this time.
Complex emotions clouded Dan Hanjie’s eyes. He took off his own clothes and sat down directly in the bathtub, pulling Qin Youxuan into his arms.
He lowered his head and bit her earlobe, “Did you miss me?”
